DENVER—Wazee Digital won’t be needing to borrow a friend’s password to have access to HBO as the company is now working with the premium cable network to archive its sports content.

The Wazee Digital Core platform is being implemented to digitize and archive HBO sports content that is currently stored on videotape formats. The conversion will allow HBO to preserve this deteriorating content while also providing access to the archive for stakeholders that need the content.

Core is a software-as-a-service platform built for the cloud. Core can manage complex tasks of video acquisition, workflow, universal access, metadata management and automated delivery. In addition, Core provides cloud storage that can scale with the size of a digital library.

[Wazee Digital Finds Spot in College Football Playoff]

To ensure the digital preservation of HBO’s analog and digital videotape formats, Core is using AS-02 MXF versioning. HBO’s MXF-wrapped assets serve as master files that can accommodate input and output formats, while flexible metadata support aids in search and discovery.

Credentialed internal HBO users and other stakeholders now have access to Core to search, explore and download content from the archive.

xDENVER—Wazee Digital announced that it is now part of the Amazon Web Services Public Sector Partner Program. AWS PSP recognizes partners with technology targeting government, education, and nonprofit organizations around the world.

As an authorized AWS PSP member, Wazee Digital has been vetted by AWS and verified to have the experience and readiness to support government, education, and nonprofit customers. The AWS PSP network will help connect Wazee Digital with customers that would benefit from Wazee Digital’s solutions and use cases, key among them being dynamic, cloud-native asset management, sales and marketing, and digital syndication.

Through Core, Wazee Digital’s enterprise software-as-a-service digital asset management platform built specifically for the cloud, public-sector organizations can search, manage, and monetize digital content stored on Amazon Simple Storage Service and Amazon Glacier. Core is the foundation for all Wazee Digital products and services, and as such enables media workflow automation; scalable media delivery; digital archiving; authorized global access for searching, previewing, and downloading; and much more.

One example is Images of Freedom, the official media library of the U.S. Department of Defense, which offers public-domain video assets from the DOD’s archive. A massive, searchable repository of military audio, video, and still imagery created for the public, Images of Freedom was built in cooperation with the DOD and runs on Wazee Digital Core and AWS.

Similarly, Digital Media Hub, powered by Core, lets public-sector organizations provide permission-based access to content housed in a central location through a single portal. Content is captured and ingested directly into Core in near-real time, and once the content enters Core, users can begin working with it in Digital Media Hub immediately and/or publish it to different endpoints such as YouTube.

With the Hub, broadcasters have administration and permissioning capabilities. It also provides immediate access to content; enhanced, searchable metadata; preview capabilities; and accelerated, one-click downloading from a single location.

The online, centralized workflow of the Digital Media Hub is designed to streamline operations and eliminate separate workflow silos associated with different departments. There are also reporting tools that let host broadcasters track downloaded content.

In addition, Wazee will provide an on-site Wazee Digital team to handle uploads, metadata and user support for broadcasters using the Digital Media Hub for a live event. The on-site services will integrate directly with the host broadcaster’s EVS network to acquire, tag and upload content to the Hub.

Wazee Digital Media Hub is now available.
