STA VENERA, MALTA—CPI Media, a voluntary organization within the Missionary Society of St Paul (MSSP) and a producer of religious programming, has integrated QuickLink StudioCall into its production workflow.

With StudioCall, CPI Media can invite clergy, guests and community members to participate in broadcasts from anywhere in the world. This simplicity ensures contributors with varying levels of technical ability can join without difficulty, while maintaining professional-grade audio and video quality.

The integration has already enhanced CPI Media’s coverage of live liturgical events, community updates and religious discussions, making it easier to involve voices from different parishes, missionary stations and international locations. Whether broadcasting the daily mass or producing in-depth faith programs, QuickLink enables CPI Media to create engaging, interactive content that resonates with viewers and strengthens community bonds, the companies said.

Facilitated and installed by DAB Electronica Malta, an official QuickLink reseller in the region, CPI Media is using the solution to transform the way it connects with audiences across television and online platforms. Known for broadcasting daily masses, CPI Media’s adoption of QuickLink enables the organization to deliver high-quality, real-time content to viewers regardless of location.

As remote production becomes more ubiquitous, CPI Media identified the need for a solution for seamlessly integrating remote contributions that was not only scalable and professional, but also user-friendly for guests with little to no technical experience.

The organization’s studios’ and production facilities, located in Sta Venera, Malta, are now equipped with QuickLink StudioCall, which enables them to receive high-quality, low-latency remote video and audio contributions flawlessly, directly through a web browser, with no app or software download required.

“In our mission to bring faith and uplifting stories into people’s homes, it’s vital that we remove barriers for participation,” says Paul Jones, systems engineer at CPI Media. “Our clients are increasingly expecting seamless, broadcast-ready results regardless of where participants are located. QuickLink’s technology allows us to connect with priests, parish representatives and guests globally, without sacrificing the quality or intimacy of our broadcasts.”

QuickLink StudioCall allows CPI Media to send guests a simple URL to connect with studio-grade audio feeds, reducing the technical overhead and minimizing the need for extensive pre-production. This results in smoother workflows, faster turnaround and more engaging content for both live and pre-recorded productions.

“Faith is about connection,” adds Jones. “With QuickLink, we’re able to bring the Church and its message closer to the faithful—whether they’re across town or across the world.”

QuickLink’s StudioCall is also integrated natively into QuickLink StudioEdge, a versatile, multi-platform remote guest solution that effortlessly combines the integration of Zoom, Microsoft Teams and StudioCall callers in a single, unified solution, streamlining communication and enhancing workflow efficiency for professional broadcasts and productions.

DAB Electronica provides design, assembly and complete technical solutions of professional AV and broadcast system integrations. The company is involved in all phases of a project, from design and planning to material procurement, installation and commissioning of the integrated systems. DAB Electronica serves a range of markets and product segments including AV, LED screens, supply and installation, broadcasting equipment, system integration, streaming, radio and TV installs and outside broadcasting.

For more information about QuickLink StudioCall and StudioEdge, please visit the QuickLink website, or contact the QuickLink team at sales@quicklink.tv.

LAS VEGAS—QuickLink, a provider of video production and remote guest contribution solutions, will be presenting its latest StudioEdge models at the 2026 NAB Show 2026, April 19-22 at booth N2761.

Building on the StudioEdge expansion introduced in 2025, the company will showcase the full StudioEdge range, including StudioEdge-1, StudioEdge-2, the flagship StudioEdge-4 and StudioEdge-2110.

“Expanding our StudioEdge offering was the clear next step for us, filling a direct need in the industry for a swap-in replacement for the discontinued Skype TX,” says Richard Rees, CEO of QuickLink. “StudioEdge delivers the broadcast quality, operational simplicity and workflow familiarity teams relied on, while adding modern platform support and the scalability to match today’s productions. At NAB 2026, we’re looking forward to demonstrating not only the latest StudioEdge models, but also new workflow enhancements that make it even easier to introduce and manage Zoom callers in live productions.”

Designed for broadcasters and professional production teams, StudioEdge enables broadcast-quality, discrete audio and video remote contributions from leading video conferencing platforms, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams and QuickLink StudioCall, supporting reliable remote guest integration across a wide range of live production environments.

QuickLink will also demonstrate brand-new workflow enhancements for StudioEdge at the 2026 NAB Show, including improvements to the way Zoom callers are introduced and managed within StudioEdge. These enhancements are designed to streamline producer control, improve the efficiency of call handling and further simplify live remote guest workflows in fast-paced production environments.

Quicklink noted that with Skype reaching end of life in 2025, and Skype TX subsequently being deprecated in March 2026, many production teams have been left without a supported remote guest contribution solution that fits established broadcast workflows.

StudioEdge was designed specifically to address this gap, providing a modern, fully supported alternative that preserves the optional model familiar to Skype TX, while expanding platform capability and reliability. This enables organizations to transition away from the legacy Skype TX infrastructure while maintaining the workflows their teams already know and trust.

QuickLink’s award-winning StudioEdge is built on QuickLink’s industry-leading remote contribution expertise and integrates directly into professional production environments. Utilizing built-in QuickLink StudioCall technology, StudioEdge supports real-time interviews, panel discussions and group conversations with remote guests worldwide, while providing discrete SDI, HDMI, NDI and ST 2110 inputs/outputs for flexible routing and clean integration into live production pipelines. A browser-based remote-control interface enables producers to manage callers, enhance video and audio quality with AI-technology and provide guidance to remote guests from virtually any location.

For more information about QuickLink StudioEdge™ or other award-winning video production solutions, please visit the QuickLink website.
ISSY-LES-MOULINEAUX, France—France 24, the international news and current affairs television network broadcasting in French, English, Arabic and Spanish, has deployed QuickLink’s StudioEdge and StudioCall to improve its remote guest-integration capabilities.

By integrating QuickLink’s remote guest solutions into its production workflow, the news network improved connection reliability, guest onboarding simplicity and enhanced contribution quality, the company said.

As a broadcaster producing content in four languages, France 24 relies heavily on remote contributions for live news and interviews. Faced with mounting challenges and persistent connection issues when using traditional video conferencing tools, the France 24 team sought a more robust solution.

With the official retirement of Skype and the phase-out of Skype TX, France 24 turned to QuickLink to modernize its infrastructure and streamline its production guest workflow, it said.

QuickLink’s StudioEdge enables France 24 to introduce remote guests via Zoom, Microsoft Teams and QuickLink’s own StudioCall platform. With StudioEdge, the video and audio quality of remote guests and callers can be optimized using AI-technology powered by NVIDIA, ensuring broadcast-quality results with minimal operator intervention, it said.

“StudioEdge resolved a lot of the issues we often encountered using Skype TX,” Eric Devoisin-Lagarde, traffic and external production resources manager at France 24, said. “Today, while we initially planned to integrate StudioEdge gradually, the majority of our connections are already being made through the platform, as it is really simple to learn and deploy. Relying so heavily on QuickLink for our remote contributions helped ease any potential workflow issues with Skype TX being recently discontinued.”

France 24 initially deployed a single StudioEdge server into its production infrastructure to support three channels produced in Paris. It has added two additional since the initial installation to dedicated a server to each language-specific channel, it said.

“Having dedicated servers for each language allows for increased flexibility and reduces any potential bottlenecks during simultaneous live broadcasts,” Devoisin-Lagarde said. France 24 Colombia will also integrate the StudioEdge solution, further expanding the deployment across the network.

The transition to StudioEdge has been smooth for both staff and guests, many of whom were previously familiar with Skype TX. “People don’t feel lost when using StudioEdge, especially those that have used Skype TX in the past,” Devoisin-Lagarde said. “They can very easily learn and use StudioEdge, as there is not a big learning curve from one to the other.”

In addition to StudioEdge, France 24 has also benefited from QuickLink StudioCall, one of the available supported platforms within StudioEdge. It enables operators to connect remote guests simply using a web browser. Invitations can be deployed effortlessly via email, SMS, WhatsApp or by sharing a direct join link, which allows contributors to connect within seconds. StudioCall provides a high level of operator control.

“StudioCall has been a great solution for those who don’t want to use Teams or Zoom; it’s easy to use and the quality is the best,” said Devoisin-Lagarde.

More information is available on the company’s website.

SAN ANTONIO—QuickLink has launched two new versions of its StudioEdge line of products: StudioEdge-1 and StudioEdge-2 provide one-channel and two-channels of broadcast-quality discrete audio and video from Zoom, Microsoft Teams and QuickLink StudioCall remote guests.

These new single and dual SDI versions target customers who previously relied on Skype TX, providing an equivalent replacement with added platform support that can be seamlessly integrated into existing Skype TX workflows.

StudioEdge allows broadcasters and production teams to seamlessly introduce remote guests from every major video conferencing platform, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams and StudioCall into productions, optimized with ground-breaking AI technology. With Skype reaching its end-of-life, many production teams and broadcasters are seeking alternative solutions to maintain seamless remote guest integration. QuickLink StudioEdge provides a future-proof, reliable replacement, ensuring continued connectivity and high-quality video contribution from remote participants, the company said.

“Expanding our StudioEdge line was a clear next step for us, as this fills a direct need in the marketplace for a one-channel and two-channel option,” says Richard Rees, CEO of QuickLink. “With Skype support ending, and the consequent discontinuation of Skype TX, the StudioEdge-1 and StudioEdge-2 provide a natural upgrade for the now unavailable NewTek TalkShow (Vizrt TalkShow), Riedel STX-200 and QuickLink TX. These new StudioEdge models offer added platform support and a seamless upgrade into existing Skype TX workflows.”

The complete Studio Edge line, including these two new models, will be shown at QuickLink’s Booth (7.B51) at IBC2025, Sept. 12-15 at the RAI Amsterdam.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas—As broadcasters reassess their remote contribution tools in the wake of Microsoft’s recent announcement to retire Skype in May 2025, QuickLink is pitching its StudioEdge as a cutting-edge solution designed to seamlessly integrate remote guests from multiple video conferencing platforms into professional productions.

QuickLink’s StudioEdge provides multi-platform integration of remote guests from major video conferencing platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom and StudioCall, into productions and is optimized with ground-breaking AI technology, the company reported.

Skype, launched in 2003, revolutionized internet communication by enabling free voice and video calls globally. However, as technology evolved, platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams emerged, offering enhanced features and user experiences. Microsoft’s decision to discontinue Skype reflects this shift, urging users to transition to Microsoft Teams.

Quicklink’s StudioEdge supports four channels of broadcast-quality discrete audio and video from Microsoft Teams, Zoom and QuickLink StudioCall remote guests.

It can be seamlessly integrated into the production suite via IP and hardware inputs/outputs. The powerful solution supports direct, off-air communication between the operator and remote guest(s) offering complete control over the production. It is designed to seamlessly bridge the gap between video conferencing platforms and professional production workflows, offering unparalleled control, reliability and quality.

“Unlike other competing WebRTC-based solutions, which suffer from blocked port and software codex issues, StudioEdge is the only solution that allows users to choose the best elements from all the available platforms allowing broadcasters to easily reach its production goal,” says Richard Rees, CEO of QuickLink.

As the industry navigates the post-Skype era, QuickLink stressed that StudioEdge offers broadcasters a reliable and adaptable solution for incorporating remote contributions into their productions. With nearly 22 years of experience in providing cutting-edge broadcast solutions, QuickLink continues to lead the way in delivering innovative, high-quality remote production tools trusted by broadcasters worldwide.

For more information about QuickLink StudioEdge or other award-winning video production solutions, please visit the QuickLink website.

The Quicklink team and its suite of products will also be onsite at the 2025 NAB Show, (Booth SL10413) between April 6 to 9 in Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS—QuickLink, a global provider of multicamera video productions and remote contributions, will launch two new models of its QuickLink StudioPro video production platform: StudioPro-NDI and StudioPro-3, at the 2025 NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 6-9.

Ideal for a wide range of production applications from broadcast to live events as well as various AV scenarios including houses of worship, education, corporate and government environments, the latest models of QuickLink StudioPro feature a variety of advancements for an enhanced workflow.

Calling it “the world’s easiest-to-use 4K video production platform,” the company says QuickLink StudioPro delivers a true-to-life ultra-low latency production experience without the complexity of legacy systems. To complement its existing 12G-SDI and ST 2110 models, the StudioPro product line is now available with 3G-SDI and NDI models, fitting a range of different workflows and applications.

“We have seen incredible adoption of StudioPro with those who require easy-to-use integrated solutions whilst maintaining high-quality standards,” says Richard Rees, CEO of QuickLink. “The new StudioPro-3 fills a need in the marketplace for an HD-version of our video production platform while the new StudioPro-NDI offers 10GB and 2.5GB Ethernet Interfaces. Both new variations feature a host of additional features such as incorporated Reliable Rugged Chassis (RRC) technology and built-in NewBlue Captivate graphics. Additionally, these latest enhancements were designed with the evolution of Mix/Effects (M/Es) methodology in mind and now offer complete flexibility, streamlining the creative process and resolving many of the limitations of M/Es.”

These customized StudioPro models create high-quality live video productions with an easy-to-use interface that provides endless possibilities. The StudioPro suite, including StudioPro-NDI, comes officially NDI Certified, guaranteed to connect seamlessly and perform up to the NDI standards of efficiency, interoperability and quality in any setup, QuickLink said.

QuickLink - StudioPro-3 and the back of StudioPro-NDI (Image credit: QuickLink)

QuickLink StudioPro features one-frame delay, which the company says ensures flawless synchronization between stage speakers and large projected screens or video walls for live presentations.
LONDON—QuickLink has released new details about the remote production technologies it has been providing ITV Studios’ popular series “Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.”

"Saturday Night Takeaway" is an ambitious, family-oriented entertainment program spanning seven weeks of live shows per season. The technically complex program is a mixture of live and prerecorded entertainment, with game-show influenced segments and regular surprise interactivity with viewers, including with children facing health challenges and their families. ITV Studios’ Lifted Entertainment produces over 500 hours of television for U.K. audiences each year, including ”Saturday Night Takeaway.”

With the series averaging 5 million to 9 million viewers per episode, “Saturday Night Takeaway” is broadcast live on U.K. network ITV1 in a primetime weekend slot. The show typically includes numerous remote connections to surprise members of the public across several segments in each show.

For the show’s remote production, laptops were initially used with either video capture cards or webcams.

To fine-tune audio and video signals coming in remotely and to improve picture and sound quality, Lifted turned to QuickLink for an end-to-end solution using QuickLink StudioEdge with StudioCall. This simplified the complexity of the remote production work in the show and removed the need to use laptops and capture cards.

“Using QuickLink hardware both out on location and in the studio enabled us to have a true end-to-end solution,” David Williams, technical director for Lifted Entertainment, said. “Monitoring and managing all connections from the QuickLink web UI enabled us to quickly troubleshoot issues and ensure every item went smoothly, from ‘Ring My Bell’ to ‘Singalong Live.’ ”

“QuickLink is the perfect solution for our hugely demanding remote production environment,” Leon Langdale, technical producer at Lifted, added. “There is no other program on television with the size and scale that ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ has. The technical demands of the format grow each series, and we simply couldn’t make it without a key partner in QuickLink.”

More information is available here.

SWANSEA, U.K.—Quicklink today released a tool to help organizations determine how much carbon dioxide they are preventing from being released into the atmosphere as a result of using Quicklink’s remote contribution solutions.

The new calculator uses a unique algorithm to figure out the carbon dioxide mitigated by contributing video virtually via the Quicklink platform rather than travelling to an interview to contribute in person.

“When it comes to helping our environment, we believe that knowledge is power," said Quicklink CEO Richard Rees. "We’re really proud to be playing a part, allowing our customers to monitor their carbon emissions and use this information to make conscious decisions to reduce their carbon footprint by contributing virtually.”

“Here at Quicklink, we know that creating broadcast-quality contributions is essential, so by using our technology, we’re allowing customers to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions without compromising on the quality of their contributions," he added.

Quicklink enables high-quality remote contribution links from an all-in-one studio-in-a-box or from a regular desktop, laptop or mobile device with no apps or software installations required. From the Quicklink Manager, operators can remotely control and configure a contributor’s camera, microphone, speaker settings, resolution, audio gain, data bandwidth and latency.

The company also has published a white paper, “Reducing Your Carbon Footprint: Protect Our Planet Without Compromising On Quality.”

More information is available on the company’s website.
