NEWBURY PARK, CALIF.—Platinum Tools is now shipping its new EZ-RJ45 Crimp Tool (p/n 100062C), which combines the Exo Crimp Frame with EZ-RJ45 Die.

The Exo Crimp Frame is a RJ45 crimp tool that can terminate multiple sizes of cables and conductors. The crimp frame features two interchangeable dies that work with EZ-RJ45 (Cat5e/6) and ezEX-RJ45 (Cat6/6A) connectors. Future upgrades can be done by purchasing a new die.

Additional features for the new Exo Crimp Frame and dies include single cycle crimp and flush trim; reversible die for ambidextrous operation; connectors lock into tool for correct positioning during crimp; push button lock; comfort grip TPR handles; Exo-EX die for crimping ezEX44 and ezEX48 connectors to terminate larger cables and conductors; and wire sequence for T568A/B.

LAS VEGAS—Platinum Tools will showcase the T130 VDV MapMaster 3.0, the next-generation of its VDV MapMaster cable tester and verifier for the professional installer, in Las Vegas at the 2017 NAB Show. This cable test and measurement instrument supports installation, troubleshooting and maintenance on telco, network or coax cables.

MapMaster 3.0 puts versatile features, such as continuity testing, mapping, a tone generator and length measurement tools, within a single easy-to-use unit. It tests Cat7, Cat6A, Cat6, Cat5e, Cat5, Cat4, and Cat3 shielded and unshielded cables, as well as voice and coax cables.

The MapMaster 3.0 is also capable of identifying and mapping 20 locations at one time. The large backlit display, glow-in-the-dark keypad, built-in flashlight and audible beep verification also helps professionals when working in the dark. Platinum Tools also added port blinking to allow port identification on switches that the cables are connected to.

LAS VEGAS—Platinum Tools will feature the EZ-RJ45 twisted pair termination system for Cat5e/6 cabling at the 2016 NAB Show. The system simplifies twisted pair terminations by allowing wires to be inserted through the connector and out the front to easily verify proper wiring order. The system now features EZ-Data Lock Locking Strain Reliefs, designed to keep network cables safe and secure from tampering.

EZ-Data Lock snag-proof strain reliefs are intended for cables that are not to be disconnected. They remain locked until the key holder unlocks them. EZ-Data Lock is available in two sizes and works with Platinum Tools EZ-RJ45 Cat5e and Cat6, and all standard RJ45 connectors.

The EZ-RJ45 encompasses the EZ-RJPRO HD crimp tool, EZ-RJPRO termination pod, EZ-Snap Jacks that fit industry-standard wall plates, and Cat5e/6 cable jacket stripper.
