WASHINGTON—Effective immediately, DeDe Lea, the executive vice president of global public policy and government relations for ViacomCBS, has been named to the NAB Television Board of Directors by the TV Board Chair Emily Barr.

At ViacomCBS, Lea oversees all government affairs and public policy work. Prior to the CBS, Viacom merger, Lea had been working as a high-level exec on government affairs with Viacom since 1997. One of her other past roles was as the senior vice president of government relations at NAB.

In addition to her work at ViacomCBS, she currently sits on the board of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and the MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

Lea was named as one of the Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America by Black Enterprise Magazine in 2019. She was also recognized as a Top Lawyer by Cablefax magazine in 2018 and received the 2014 NCTA Vanguard Award for Government and Community Relations.

WASHINGTON—In accordance with NAB by-laws and effective immediately, Dave Hanna and Patricia McRae have been appointed to the NAB Television Board of Directors by Board Chair Emily Barr.

Hanna is the president of Lockwood Broadcasting, which currently owns and operates nine stations affiliated with major TV networks. He previously served as a member of the UPN Affiliate Board for four years, including three as president, as well as time on the CW Affiliate Advisory Board.

McRae is the president of KHQ Incorporated and Cowles Montana Media, where she oversees TV markets in eastern Washington and five markets in Montana, as well as a regional sports network serving Washington, Idaho and Montana. She is the current vice chair for the Fox Board of Governors and on the Fox News Advisory committee, as well as a past chair of the Washington State Broadcasting Association and time on the NAB Small Market Round Table Committee.

WASHINGTON—NAB Television Board of Director’s Chairman Jordan Wertlieb has announced that Eddie Meldendez, the executive vice president for the West region of Entravision Communications Corporation, has been added to the Television Board.

At Entravision, Melendez oversees sales and marketing efforts for 16 of Entravision’s markets, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Palm Springs, Monterey, Phoenix, Las Vegas, El Paso and others. His previous experience includes time at Katz Television, KTLA-Los Angeles, Galavision, Telemundo and Univision.

Melendez will join the NAB Television Board effective immediately.
