Live video production tech supplier EVS has announced the acquisition of Portugal-based MOG Technologies in a deal that EVS said will enhance its portfolio with state-of-the-art file-based and software-defined video solutions. 

This acquisition also enables EVS to immediately broaden its premium live production ecosystem by expanding its file-based ingest and transcoding capabilities. In addition, MOG Technologies's expertise in cloud technology will bolster EVS's Balanced Computing strategy, particularly enhancing its content management and distribution solutions, respectively MediaCeption and MediaHub. 

As part of the deal, a team of close to 50 colleagues based in Porto will provide EVS access to a pool of highly skilled talent, bringing profound expertise in digital media and video technology, beyond traditional broadcasting.

More specifically, the two companies reported that the acquisition will provide customers with:

EVS reported that MOG Technologies generates an annual revenue of approximately EUR 4 million. The acquisition represents a value, including an earn-out mechanism, totaling below EUR 5 million. The share purchase agreement was signed on August 2nd, 2024, at the EVS House in Paris. The transaction is subject to certain closing conditions, which are expected to be fulfilled by Q4 this year, the companies said. 

PORTO & LISBON, Portugal—MOG Technologies has introduced mediaSocial, a new enhanced model for its mfxSpeedrail central ingest product focused on use for social media ingest and publication.

The new software application supports multiple social media video content streams with up to four live and four video-on-demand (VOD) operations at the same time. 

Retrieving from and publishing content to a wide range of social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, Vimeo and Twitter, is easily done with a simple setup configuration that enables graphic burn-in and metadata annotation and preservation.

The new enhanced version offers input and output to and from social media gateways, full remote and local user interface, closed captions, Google Chrome extension and manual and automatic operation modes.

The mediaSocial application is available in different versions to match the unique requirements of users.

MOREIRA, PORTUGAL—MOG Technologies has made a new addition to its Northern Europe sales team with the hire of Damion Hall to the position of business development consultant.

Hall previously worked as the head of Interactive broadcast software products for 10 years. He also has experience with companies in both the U.S. and China.

MOREIRA, PORTUGAL—MXF and centralized ingest systems provider MOG Technologies has announced that it is expanding its services to now include the cloud. The Portugal-based company will now offer CDN, Web acceleration, video cloud, security and storage services in co-operation with Level 3 Communications.

MOG cloud services will allow the user to select from four business plans that can scale and adapt to an organization’s needs. Among the services MOG will assist with are Video-on-Demand to broadcaster environments for the exchange of content between facilities.

MAIA, PORTUGAL—MOG Technologies, a provider of MXF and centralized ingest systems, and the Bloomington, Minn.-based Scale Logic Inc., which focuses on storage and networking infrastructures, have announced a new partnership.

This new partnership includes the ability to integrate MOG’s mxfSPEEDRAIL and HyperFS, providing maximum efficiency from ingest into delivery and archiving. Both systems are scalable to the size of organization and its customer needs. The mxfSPEEDRAIL product line provides systems for file-based ingest, SD-HD/SDI capture, digital delivery, real-time playback, transcoding and file conversion. The HyperFS is a file system with Scale-Out NAS and SAN workflow.
