GRASS VALLEY, Calif.—AJA has introduced a handful of new models to its family of 12G-SDI mini converters that are designed to expand fiber connectivity for transferring of 12G-SDI.

Among the new models is the FiDO-T-12G-ST and FiDO-R-12G-ST units, which are designed for single-channel conversion between 12G-SDI and ST Fiber. The FiDO-T model is a single-channel 12G-SDI to single-mode ST Fiber transmitter, with 12G-SDI loop out. The FiDO-R model is a single-channel, single-mode ST Fiber to 12G-SDI receiver, featuring dural 12G-SDI outputs. Both models include ST connectors and feature compact profiles for small spaces.

Then there is the HA5-12G-T-ST and Hi5-12G-R-ST that support conversion between HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI and ST Fiber. The HA5 converts HDMI 2.0 to 12G-SDI for 4K/UHD single link outputs and includes 12G ST Fiber connectivity for transporting signals over long distances. Hi5 is a 12G-SDI to HDMI 2.0 mini converter with 12G ST Fiber connectivity that supports up to 60p for 4K/UHD. There is also unique HDR support with HDR10 metadata, as well as HLG over HDMI.

AJA also has the 12G-AMA, a four-channel analog audio embedder/disembedder with support for 12G-SDI BNC input and output up to 4K/UHD. The embed and disembed functions are simultaneously active, and the supplied breakout cable offers four-channel balanced XLR input and output. The unit is also available with 12G LC Fiber transmitter, receiver and transceiver models, as well as 12G ST Fiber transmitter and receiver models.

All of the new models run on 5-16VDC power.

In addition, AJA now has FIBERST-1RX-12G and FIBERST-1TX-12G SFP modules. The 1RX supports 12G-AMA and Hi5, while the 1TX supports the 12G-AMA and HA5.

The IPR-10G2-HDMI and IPR-10G2-SDI are compact, quiet and powerful video and audio receivers that are capable of bridging 10-bit HD IP video signals to HDMI and SDI. Both models are equipped with dual 10 GigE SFP+ cages for hitless switching, providing redundancy protection in critical distribution and monitoring applications.

IPR-10G2-HDMI supports monitoring of SMPTE ST 2110 signals via HDMI up to HD 60p and includes a full-size HDMI 1.4b video output with up to 8-channels of embedded audio. IPR-10G2-SDI provides SMPTE ST 2110 monitoring up to HD 60p via dual mirrored 3G-SDI outputs, with up to 16-channels of embedded audio. Both models are ideal for seamless integration into green-field SMPTE ST 2110 facilities, or existing baseband environments including master control, trucks or edit suites.

GRASS VALLEY, CALIF.—AJA Video Systems has announced the release of new mini-converters that give users additional options for extending SDI signals and incorporating computer files into video production. The new mini-converters include HB-T-SDI, HB-R-SDI, ROI-HDMI and HD10MD4.

The HB-T-SDI and HB-R-SDI are able to extend 3G-SDI signals over Ethernet cable through the HDBaseT protocol. They also support bi-directional IR and RS-232 for device control for use in fixed installation AV, digital signage, live events, post production, network, studio environments and on set. Each mini-converter can also be mixed and matched with AJA’s HDMI-based HDBaseT mini-converteres for customized video I/O on either end of the Ethernet connection.

The ROI-HDMI mini-converter offers real-time region-of-interest scaling and SDI video output from HDMI computer outputs, which allows users to incorporate computer signals into the video world without sacrificing budget or space. Users can select a region-of-interest on screen from incoming HDMI signals and control how that region is scaled to the output resolution using AJA’s scaling algorithms.

The HD10MD4 is a mini digital downconverter for converting HD-SDI video to standard definition SDI and analog component/composite video. It uses a full 10-bit data path and multi-point interpolation to produce broadcast quality downconverted video. The unit also converts either 1080p24 or 1080p24sf to 59.94 Hz output video using the standard 3:2 pulldown technique. The output can be formatted for either 4:3 or 16:9 standard definition monitors. In addition, four-channel input embedded HD-SDI audio is passed to the SDI output, and a mini-USB jack enables configuration and control from the free Mini-Config application for Mac or PC.

All four mini-converters are now available for shipping. The HB-T-SDI and HB-R-SDI are available at a starting price of $595, while the ROI-HDMI and HD10MD4 are available for $995.
