TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics will highlight several new products at IBC2025, including the CV612 PTZ camera, RCP Plus camera controller and VMV-402-3GSH switcher, and will showcase its new CV355-27X-IP and CV355-27X-ND3 cameras during the show.

With advanced AI tracking, the PTZ camera “learns” who the prime subject is and won’t “lose” the presenter when other persons or objects enter the shot. Equipped with 12x optical and a 15x digital zoom, the CV612 offers a 4.1-millimeter to 49.2-mm (6.6-70.3 degrees) field of view. It is built around a professional-grade 2-Megapixel 1/2.8-inch, high-quality HD CMOS sensor, which provides format resolutions from 1920x1080, 1280x720 down to 640x480.

The RCP Plus Camera Controller is designed to enhance production capabilities and streamline workflow for professionals in the broadcast and AV industries. This advanced controller empowers users to seamlessly mix and match serial and IP camera control, allowing for customized configurations where both types can be easily programmed to adjacent buttons.

The Marshall VMV-402-3GSH is a four-input, auto-scaling seamless switch designed to become a reliable part of any infrastructure. It can be used in edit rooms, boardrooms and lecture halls. It also can be used as an auxilliary input for existing production switches. A simple command structure allows easy integration with Crestron, other control surfaces and automation systems via Ethernet or RS232. The switcher accepts four 3GSDI sources. Inputs 1 and 2 also accept HDMI.

The Marshall Electronics CV355-27X-IP optical zoom IP (HEVC/SRT) camera is a compact, yet powerful full-HD camera designed for IP-based workflows. Featuring a professional-grade 8.5-megapixel sensor, the CV355-27X-IP captures crystal-clear video up to 1920x1080 at 60 frames per second, delivering image performance across all standard HD formats with output up to 1080p60 and 720p60. TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics will introduce the CV355-27X-IP optical zoom IP (HEVC/SRT) camera during InfoComm 2025, June 11-13, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

The compact full-HD camera is designed for professional AV and live production IP-based workflows, including those commonly used by houses of worship and in courtrooms and classrooms, as well as broadcast, the company said.

The CV355-27X-IP features a professional-grade 8.5-megapixel sensor, capturing video up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps and outputs up to 1080p60 video. Offering a 27 times optical zoom (5.5~150 mm), the camera supports a 60-degree angle of view, enabling capture of close-up detail in large spaces, it said.

Designed with AV integrators in mind, the CV355-27X-IP supports simultaneous IP (HEVC/SRT), 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs with Ethernet I/O providing video, control, audio and Power over Ethernet (PoE) via a single cable. The camera also features RS-232 control and a 3.5mm audio input with passthrough, offering flexible integration options for a wide range of workflows, it said.

LAS VEGAS—Terrible Herbst Motorsports director of media and aerial production Bryan Moore has deployed the Marshall Electronics CV574 miniature 4K UHD POV camera for off-road livestreaming to deliver clear, richly colored accurate video of races.

For years, Moore and his team relied on other cameras, but they recently transitioned to the Marshall CV574.

“The CV574 offers a level of reliability and quality that our previous cameras could not achieve,” Moore said. “The Marshall cameras, with their built-in encoders and wide-angle 4K lenses, allow for high-definition streaming without the need for additional hardware, making the system more efficient. Several major racing organizations, including offshore boat races, the Finke Desert Race in Australia, and the Dakar Rally, have taken note of Moore’s application of the technology. “This is a whole new market, and the demand is growing,” Moore said. “We’ve already sold four more trucks just based on the livestream feeds alone.”

The CV574 network streaming POV camera is built around a Sony UHD sensor with over 8.46 million pixels. LAS VEGAS—Marshall Electronics has announced that it will debut its newest camera controller, the RCP Plus, at the 2025 NAB Show at Booth N2649 between April 5 to 9 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The state-of-the-art controller is designed to enhance production capabilities and streamline workflow for professionals in the broadcast and AV industries. It allows users to seamlessly mix and match different camera types, allowing for customized configurations where both types can be easily programmed to adjacent buttons. FORT WORTH, Texas—“Chopper Cops,” an all-new docuseries produced by SEE IT NOW Studios and V1 Productions, recently debuted on CBS/Paramount+. The 10-episode series offers an unprecedented look at the Marion County Sheriff’s Department’s state-of-the-art helicopters, operated by elite police pilots known as “Air One.” Throughout each half-hour episode, the series showcases these “chopper cops” as they utilize high-tech infrared cameras and augmented-reality mapping to support ground units in locating and apprehending suspects, providing a critical “eye in the sky.”

Unique Cameras, Unique Angles
For “Chopper Cops,” the production needed to capture content from various sources, including helicopters and the deputy police cars. To achieve these unique angles in extremely space-conscious locations, we relied on a selection of POV cameras from Marshall Electronics, including eight CV506 Miniature Full-HD Cameras, two CV568 Miniature HD Cameras with Global Shutter with Genlock and two CV504-WP All-Weather Micro Cameras.

The cutting-edge technology of these cameras allowed us to provide an immersive and authentic viewing experience without interfering with police work in the air or on the ground. The camera’s compact size and robust capabilities are essential for capturing the intense and often unpredictable nature of police aviation operations.

Marshall’s CV506 camera was used in the interior of deputies’ cars and helicopters, including scenes captured from the dashboard of the squad cars, as well as the footage that was filmed over the shoulder of the pilot and Tactical Flight Officer (TFO). For these aerial police applications, the pilot is responsible for the safe operation of the helicopter, and the TFO is responsible for law enforcement and coordinating ground resources.

The Marshall cameras were also used to capture some footage from the dashboard of the Sheriff helicopter looking back at the Pilot and TFO. The CV506 can capture detailed shots while maintaining an ultra-discreet miniature POV perspective without sacrificing versatility or convenience.

Miniature POV
In addition to being used in a similar capacity to the CV506, Marshall’s CV568 miniature global camera with genlock delivered synchronized, HD footage critical for capturing coordinated movements and actions within the vehicles and aircraft. The CV568 is built around an impressive 1/1.8-inch Sony global sensor with 25% larger pixels and interchangeable M12 lens mount, making this the most capable POV camera in the miniature camera lineup.

In addition to the exterior of the sheriff helicopters, the Marshall CV504-WP camera was used to film from the exterior of the deputy squad cars. Footage captured from the exterior squad cars depict the cars in motion and highlights the sheriff decals. Footage captured from the exterior sheriff helicopters includes POV from the skids that show the helicopters flying over the city, and shots of the infrared camera on the belly of the helicopter.

The CV504-WP delivers exceptional 10-bit 4:2:2 video performance from a durable aluminum alloy body through weatherproof breakout cable and flexible, interchangeable lenses. The new Sony sensors offer rich color, accurate video with improved low-light sensitivity and refined remote adjust-and-match capability.

This series would not have been possible without Marshall. They were able to have several cameras on board without interfering with the actual mission of the aircraft and real police work being done. Marshall Electronics has announced that it will be showing four new POV camera models, the CV570/CV574 Miniature Cameras and CV370/CV374 Compact Cameras, at IBC2023.

These new camera models, which will be on display at IBC 2023 Stand 2.A47, all feature low latency NDI|HX3 streaming as well as standard IP (HEVC) encoding with SRT and other common streaming codecs along with a simultaneous HDMI output for traditional workflows.  

The company reported that the CV570 miniature and CV370 compact NDI|HX3 cameras both contain the new Sony sensor with larger pixels and square pixel array that Marshall is implementing into all of its next generation POV cameras this year. 

These will offer resolutions of up to 1920x1080p (progressive), 1920x1080i (interlaced) and 1280x720p. 

Also, these cameras are designed with the same flexible features including interchangeable lenses, multiple broadcast and proAV framerates, remote adjustability and very discreet and durable bodies made of lightweight aluminum alloy with rear I/O protection wings, Marshall reported.

All four cameras can be set to NDI|HX3, NDI|HX2 as well as standard IP with SRT and other common streaming codec settings, with a simultaneous HDMI output for traditional processing or switching equipment.

The CV570 (HD) and CV574 (UHD) use a miniature M12 lens mount and is built into an ultra-durable and lightweight body with dimensions of roughly 2 inches x 2 inches x 3.5 inches. The CV370 (HD) and CV374 (UHD) use a slightly larger aluminum alloy body with CS/C lens mount recommended for longer throws and longer focal length lenses, Marshall reported.

The new NDI|HX3 format requires slightly higher bandwidth than previous NDI|HX2, but much less than is required for full-NDI|HB. NDI|HX3 delivers similar low latency as full-NDI at less than 100ms end-to-end and has video quality performance closer to premium full-NDI lossless video quality. NDI|HX3 is a big step forward for NDI|HX while reducing the bandwidth requirements of full-NDI and delivering similar speeds while delivering the high quality of the camera source.

TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics has introduced the CV420Ne, an NDI|HX3 version of its ultra-wide, 100-degree-angle-of-view, streaming POV camera and will show the new camera at InfoComm 2023 in Orlando, Fla., June 10-16. 

The CV420Ne offers robotic pan, tilt and zoom movement at HD resolutions digitally within the larger 4K UHD sensor space, the company said.

The camera allows users to maintain access to ultra-wide angles along with usable digitally zoomed and lateral maneuvers within the sensor. It uses the new NDI|HX3 codecs with access to NDI5.5 tools, USB 3.0 connectivity with Barco certification and traditional HDMI workflow for a range of AV applications, it said.

The CV420Ne uses a 1/1.8-inch 4K sensor with 9 1/2 megapixels, capable of 4K UHD resolution up to 60fps with support for HD resolutions. The camera’s 4.5mm lens features delivers high-quality video with no spherical distortion. The CV420Ne’s digital pan, tilt and zoom comes with more than 250 presets that are savable and selectable from any number of command sources, including IR remote, NDI|Tools, camera control software, web browser GUI, OBS plugins, vMix and other compatible soft codecs and devices, it said.

With the latest NDI|HX3 codec, the camera can be incorporated seamlessly into various streaming and production workflows. The CV420Ne is suitable for professional proAV and broadcast applications, including AV streaming, remote contribution, podcasting, video collaboration and a range of proAV and UCC installations that require an ultra-high-quality networkable video source, it said.

The NDI|HX3 format requires slightly higher bandwidth than NDI|HX2 but much less than needed for Full-NDI|HB. NDI|HX3 delivers similar low latency as Full-NDI at less than 100ms end-to-end and has video quality performance closer to premium Full-NDI where video quality is not lost from camera source when sent over network, it said.

The new camera is 4.5 inches long and comes with rear protection wings to avoid cable disconnect drops. It has a 3.5mm audio input (line/mic) embedded on all available outputs and can be controlled via included remote control, NDI|Tools and USB. The CV420Ne also comes with a front-facing tally light for live streaming.

“Straight and Level, Presented by AeroBrigham” which is featured on Amazon Prime Video, showcases the inside stories of the aviation industry including world-renowned airshow performers, leading manufacturers, military might and legend, as well as business aviation industry icons. 

Several Marshall HD and 4K (UHD) miniature and compact cameras will be leveraged, including its CV503-WP, CV506 and CV568 models for this series as well as additional projects, the companies reported.

LAS VEGAS—Marshall Electronics is announcing a new generation of Marshall POV cameras that has been developed around a brand new highly optimized Sony sensor. The new models, which will be shown at NAB 2023 in Central Hall, Booth C5520, will offer improved video performance with cleaner, crisper images, greater pixel sensitivity and better color reproduction. 

Complementing the new sensors, the cameras also feature high-end processors to further refine signal structure and enhance depth of remote adjust and match capabilities.

The Marshall CV226 All-Weather Lipstick Camera was the first model to be upgraded and is now being offered as the CV228 All-Weather Lipstick Camera. 

The CV228 has 3GSDI, remote adjust/match, swappable lenses and improved video performance. The camera also has the added ability for firmware updates to be performed in the field matching all other Marshall POV cameras. 

The new CV228 is also designed with additional cable reinforcement and flexibility to cater to the usual heavy use of these models. In the development timeline there will be several additional models making the switch to the new design, including the CV503 to the CV504, the CV506 to the CV508 and the CV344 to the CV348, the company reported. 

Marshall is also introducing two new POV camera models, the miniature CV570 and compact CV370 models, which add NDI|HX3 network capability with standard IP as well as SRT codecs. The Marshall miniature CV570 and compact CV370 will use the same lenses as other Marshall POV cameras and is equipped with the same new Sony sensors.

“Adding a networkable POV camera model capable of NDI|HX3, IP and SRT is a game-changer and really exciting for Marshall,” Musgrave said. “We plan to make this expandable to Dante AV-H later in the year.” 

POV cameras have become an industry standard in live production workflows over the past decade. The latest POV cameras from Marshall feature slightly larger physical pixel size, capturing more light information with greater sensitivity in low-light environments and has the same ability to reach into the IR wavelengths, when applications require it.

The CV574-ND3 miniature and CV374-ND3 compact NDI|HX3 cameras both contain the same features but use a new Sony 4K (UHD) sensor. All four can be set to NDI|HX3, NDI|HX2 or standard IP relying on H.265 and SRT.

The CV570 (HD) and CV574 (UHD) use a miniature M12 lens mount. They are 2 inches x 2 inches x 3.5 inches. The CV370 (HD) and CV374 (UHD) use a slightly larger aluminum alloy body with CS/C lens mount, it said.

The new NDI|HX3 format requires slightly higher bandwidth than previous NDI|HX2 but much less than is required for full-NDI. NDI|HX3 delivers similar low latency as full-NDI at less than 100ms end-to-end and has video quality performance closer to premium full-NDI lossless video quality, it said.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Marshall Electronics has announced that Harvard University has deployed its CV568 Miniature Global Shutter Camera to help cover ice hockey. 

As one of the oldest and most storied programs in all of college hockey, the Harvard University men’s ice hockey team draws big crowds, not only in person but also via streaming on ESPN+ and on linear broadcast partner NESN (New England Sports Network). 

In order to capture all of the exciting action and provide in-depth angles and perspectives, the university has come to rely on a selection of POV cameras, including the recently acquired CV568 Miniature Global Shutter Camera with Genlock from Marshall Electronics.

“We started out with one Marshall camera, but the problem with getting one Marshall camera is that you immediately realize it’s not nearly enough, so you get a second one,” explained Imry Halevi, associate director of athletics at Harvard. “When we received the second one, it quickly became evident that we needed four and so on. We continue to add more Marshall cameras and have been finding more ways to use them for our sports teams; they have been really great.”

Harvard recently added the new CV568 from Marshall to its inventory. The CV568 POV camera offers an impressive 1/1.8” Global Shutter 3.2MP sensor and 25 percent larger pixel size, for ultra-fast, low latency capture even in challenging light environments. The inclusion of Genlock (tri-level signal-sync) offers quick switching between camera perspectives in fast paced action, ideal for capturing gameplay. 

For Harvard, the CV568 is used as a goal cam to show images of the puck as it crosses the goal line or not. According to Halevi, “We have placed the CV568 on the glass behind one of the goals in our rink for our broadcasts. It is part of our review system for the officials to verify if there was a goal or not. It’s been clearer and sharper than anything we have ever had behind the goal in the past. The difference was immediately noticeable.”

In order to successfully place the CV568 in its proper location, Halevi used a Manfrotto Magic Arm with a clamp on one side and a camera plate on the other. The Magic Arm is attached to the beam that is right behind the net with the camera pointed out to the goal, providing a clear line of sight.

“The quality and the global shutter of the CV568 have been amazing,” added Halevi. “The lens and sensor quality are as good as the rest of our cameras. The newer technology is showing a difference when it comes to a fast-moving puck type scenario. It provides another high-quality angle for a fraction of the cost of a large professional broadcast camera. The CV568 has been a wonderful addition to our collection and we plan to use it for track and field as well. I also hope to acquire more CV568s in the near future.”

In addition to the CV568 being used for hockey, Harvard Athletics also employs Marshall’s CV300-series and other CV500-series POV cameras at various sporting events including basketball, track and field and an array of water sports such as water polo, swimming and diving.

Suitable for professional broadcast and professional AV applications, including pro sports events, reality TV, broadcast trucks, weather vehicles and a variety of AV installations, the new CV420e is well-suited for uses requiring ultra-high quality networkable video, Marshall Electronics said.

Using a 9.5 Megapixel 4K sensor capable of 4K UHD resolution up to 60fps, the CV420e relies on a 4.5mm wide lens with a field of view greater than 100 degrees for clear video with minimal distortion. The camera’s pan, tilt and zoom capabilities are offered with more than 250 presets that can be saved and selected from various command sources, including IR remote, video management software, web browser GUI, OBS plug-ins, vMix and a host of other compatible soft codecs and devices, the company said.

“Instead of a robotic movement, CV420e’s ePTZ functionality simulates pan, tilt and zoom operations digitally inside of a larger 4K resolution pixel space,” said Tod Musgrave, director of cameras at Marshall Electronics. “The CV420e will allow users to maintain access to wide angles along with useable digitally zoom and lateral maneuvers within the sensor. The new camera measures 4.5 inches by 2.75 inches by 2 inches and has rear-protection wings to avoid unwanted cable disconnections. The CV420e has a 3.5mm audio input (line/mic) embedded on all available outputs and can be controlled via included remote control, Ethernet (IP) and/or USB. The CV420e also comes equipped with a front facing Tally Light for LIVE and available designations and OBS plug-ins/docks, VMS, vMix and Clickshare, it said.

TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics, a leading manufacturer of broadcast and proAV cameras and equipment, has announced new features for its POV and PTZ camera models with accessory add-ons and easy field-upgradable firmware.

As part of the improvements, Marshall now offers three levels of Neutral-Density (ND) filters for its IP67-rated CV226 All-Weather Lipstick Camera and CV503-WP All-Weather Miniature HD Camera. 

“We have been asked on many occasions about ND filters as many of our live production customers operate in direct sunlight and need to dampen its effects on video performance,” says Tod Musgrave, director of cameras for Marshall Electronics. “In addition to the ND filters, we have also added CGI and Free-D protocol support to our CV630 and CV730 PTZs, which enables two-way positioning communication between camera and control decks to produce more realistic VR and AR graphic overlay. Color Matrix is also now available for our Genlock cameras, providing deeper control of color to more closely color match other cameras in the broadcast production workflow.”

Free-D protocol support now comes standard on Marshall CV730 and CV630 models and is available for existing customers through a free firmware update. 

Free-D protocol is an industry standard protocol, supported by major AR/VR solutions providers. Through this firmware update, the CV730 cameras will feed tracking data over IP back to command central, using Free-D communication. This enables the cameras to directly respond with pan, tilt, zoom, focus, iris and axis position in real time, making VR/AR production simple and cost effective without the addition of other tracking devices or systems.

Marshall also added Color Matrix to the CV566, CV568, CV366 and CV368 cameras. Color Matrix creates a more accurate color representation with master level, master phase, color level and color phase enhancements. Controllable remotely with Visca over RS485 from Marshall RCP controller, camera control software or third-party control decks such as Cyanview, Skaarhoj and others. 

Additional new camera features from Marshall include support for the CGI command control function, enhanced vMix integration, new OBS plugins/docks and constant performance improvements of AF and Zoom tracking on all PTZ models.

LAS VEGAS—Marshall Electronics has announced that it will introduce the CV730-BHN High-Bandwidth NDI PTZ Camera at the 2022 NAB Show.

This new 4K robotic PTZ camera contains traditional outputs including two simultaneous SDI (BNC) outputs with genlockable 12GSDI and 3GSDI, as well as HDMI and USB3.0 options at the ready, the company said. 

CV730-BHN also features the ultra-fast and lossless High Bandwidth NDI streaming ability commonly known as Full-NDI, while offering the newly released NDI|HX3 that can deliver similar low-latency and superior quality video performance in slightly less bandwidth network infrastructure.

Marshall announced that the CV730-BHN features a Sony 1/1.8” 4K sensor with 9 million pixels and square pixel array packed behind a long 30x optical zoom range (6.5~ 202mm). The CV730-BHN is Full-NDI compatible with streaming options of High-Bandwidth NDI, NDI|HX3 premium video codec, and standard IP (HEVC), while also offering 12GSDI, 3GSDI, HDMI, and USB3.0 outputs. It is feature rich and fits into a wide range of broadcast and proAV applications requiring low latency streaming with various bandwidth networks. Also included is PoE++ for one-cable to camera setup for video, audio, control, power and tally.

High Bandwidth NDI requires higher network bandwidth but in return delivers ultra-low latency video nearing the quickness of traditional SDI, while maintaining premium quality and lossless video performance, the company explained. The new NDI|HX3 requires slightly higher bandwidth than previous NDI|HX but much less than is required for High Bandwidth NDI. NDI|HX3 delivers similar low latency as High Bandwidth NDI at less than 100ms end-to-end and video quality performance closer to premium High Bandwidth NDI quality. 

The Marshall CV730-BHN will incorporate the premium High Bandwidth NDI FPGA while offering the benefits of NDI|HX3 and standard IP (HEVC) streams. 

Available in white and black, the CV-730-BHN cameras are scheduled to be available later this year. 

Marshall also carries several NETGEAR M4250-series switches with NDI configuration built-in and ready for easy setup with Marshall NDI cameras.

LOS ANGELES—Marshall Electronics this week unveiled its USB-based CV605-U3 PTZ camera with USB-C, IP and HDMI connectivity.

For video conferencing, collaboration and streaming, the USB-C and IP output options offer flexible connectivity. HDMI opens up options for monitoring and switching workflows. IP output with H.265 and H.264 encoded video enables one-cable camera setup and operation, the company said.

Certified by Zoom, the CV605-U3 can operate seamlessly within a Zoom Room infrastructure. It starts with an 85-degree angle of view with ultra-low distortion and high-quality video, the company said.

The CV605-U3 is suitable for use in USB-C and IP networked HD workflows. It delivers ultra-clear images with accurate color. This PTZ camera is well-suited for applications in which versatility is of the utmost concern, including video conference, video collaboration, live streaming, OBS Studio and  Zoom applications, the company said.

PHOENIX, Ariz.—With a network and digital broadcast schedule that includes over 50 events annually, the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) has come to rely on the CV344 Compact POV Camera from Marshall Electronics, reports Emmy Award-winning content specialist and tech manager, Rob Hedrick who serves as the director of production for the NHRA and manages its live video solutions for broadcast and digital OTT delivery. 

Founded in 1951 by Wally Parks, the NHRA is a drag racing organization that sets rules in drag racing and hosts events all over the United States and Canada. With over 80,000 drivers in its roster, the NHRA claims to be the largest motorsports sanctioning body in the world. Popular NHRA events include its professional Camping World Racing Series and its non-professional sportsman divisions of the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. 

The NHRA team use the Marshall CV344’s primarily to capture the beginning of the race and the system’s light bulb indicators. On the reverse side, the CV344’s is also able to get the shot of the cars leaving the starting line. 

“The Marshall CV344 delivers unbelievable picture quality,” said Hedrick. “I have used them in the past and they are just excellent cameras. The CV344’s auto-iris feature is great because we don’t have to shade the camera every time something changes. It is also excellent at night.”

Hedrick and his team have found that drag racing fans are incredibly loyal to the sport regardless of what level of racing it is. “Drag racing fans love content and love to watch racing,” added Hedrick. “In an effort to deliver more content, we started doing more non-professional sportsman races that are not typically covered at a national event. The sportsman side is broken into seven divisions with lots of racing across the country. We came up with the idea of Divisional Streaming Kits and are providing a streaming fly pack for each one of those divisional race groups so that that content can be streamed to our OTT channels. Each one of those kits will have three CV344’s in it and it will move from event to event with the divisional director. This initiative will bring us up to doing about 60 events across the association.”

For an application requiring easy transport, Hedrick finds the CV344 to be a perfect option. According to Hedrick, the set up includes the following gear. “The CV344 is situated on the tripod mount of a Tilta V-mount plate, which has a D tap on it,” Hedrick said. “I have an adapter that brings the D tap into the Marshall. The output of that also has another power connector that powers a fiber optic transceiver. So, the camera and the fiber are all powered off that one IDX DUO-C198 191Wh high-load battery, which gives us 22 hours of runtime. You don't have to run any additional power to it, and you can have a thousand feet of fiber. The really nice thing is that with the Marshall on the plate with a battery, the whole thing fits in two or three Pelican cases. That's really efficient.”

Built around a next generation 2.5-Megapixelhigh performance HD sensor, the CV344 delivers ultra-crisp, clear progressive video up to 1920x1080p at 60/59/50fps and interlaced 1920x1080i at 60/59/50fps as well as 720p. The CV344 utilizes a full-sized BNC (3GSDI) output on rear panel and locking I/O connection for power, control, and stereo audio input (embedded on 3GSDI output). The CV344's CS lens mount offers a wide range of prime and varifocal lens options from ultra-wide to telephoto.

“The CV344 is awesome,” added Hedrick. “It’s size, picture quality, cost and durability are all fantastic. It is a great camera and I'm really thrilled that it’s fitting our needs. I really like how compact this whole thing is, and the fact that it can run on a battery and you do not have to run a million miles of extension cords. I think that is such an advantage to us because our finish line is literally 1,320 feet away from the starting line, and then that's another thousand feet up to the booth.”

VICTORVILLE, Calif.—KVVB-TV, an independent TV station about 90 miles northeast of Los Angeles, has turned to the Marshall Electronics VS-12-HDSI encoder to expand its ability to transmit data.

“As technology continues to evolve, we wanted to expand as well,” said Tim Harris, general manager and CEO of KVVB-TV.

“We were looking for a solution that would enable us to transmit data from one location to another. We talked to a few friends in our industry and the recommendation was overwhelmingly towards Marshall,” said Harris. “The best recommendation is when an industry peer speaks highly of a product. So, we took the leap, purchased the VS-102-HDSDI and have been very happy with the product.”

The VS-102-HDSDI is a high-definition video server. It supports real-time transmission of an SD/HD-SDI, HDMI or NTSC/PAL composite video signal along with bi-directional AAC encoded high-definition stereo audio over standard IP networks and the internet. The encoder supports H.264 and M-JPEG compression.

“We used Marshall to go from point A to point B via an IP stream,” said Harris. “By upgrading to Marshall, we were able to expand our system and we now have a good signal to remote locations and places that did not previously have a good signal. We spread out our signal over probably 70 miles in total.”

The VS-102-HDSDI also can be configured to operate as a point-to-point talent monitoring system. For example, the unit can operate as an encoder to compress and transmit A/V data over a LAN to another VS-102-HDSDI located in a green room or other location, Marshall Electronics said.

The other unit can act as a decoder, which receives the compressed data through the LAN and restores the data to its original high-definition state. Other computers or VS-102-HDSDI decoders connected to the same network can monitor both the audio and video in multiple locations throughout a venue. When properly configured, the VS-102-HDSDI may be simultaneously monitored through the internet, the company said.

Two features in particular stand out, said Harris. “User configuration and the quality of signal are absolutely amazing,” he said. “It’s so easy to set up, and we did not have to review manuals to figure out how to use it. In addition, the quality of transmission is wonderful.”

TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics will introduce the CV420-30X 12G-SDI camera at the 2021 NAB Show, Oct. 9-13, in Las Vegas.

The new camera, which offers simultaneous 12G-SDI, HDMI and IP (HEVC/SRT) outputs, is well-suited to a variety of broadcast and professional AV workflows, it said.

Using a high-performance Sony Exmor-R sensor to capture 4K UHD video at up to 3840x2146 60fps, the camera offers a 30x optical zoom range. The CV420-30X is designed for ease of use, making it valuable for uses in live broadcast, house of worship, sports, news, reality TV and other applications, the company said.

The camera’s 30x optical zoom lens offers an extended zoom range from 4.6mm to 135mm, starting at just under a 70-degree horizontal angle of view to 3 degrees while maintaining image crispness from ultra-wide to ultra-long telephoto shots. The camera also offers exceptional low-light sensitivity, it said.

 TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics this week introduced the CV568 and CV368 global shutter cameras with genlock for applications requiring high-speed or low-light capture, such as sport, racing, eSports and remote productions.

The cameras have a 1/1.8-inch global shutter 3.2MP sensor and 25% larger pixel size, the company said.

The CV568 miniature HD camera is built into the same mini-sized body as other Marshall CV503/CV506 cameras. It offers rear panel protection, support for interchangeable M12 lenses, secure locking connections and remote adjust/match featur346 cameras, it said.

The CV368 compact HD camera follows the same body design as the CV344/CV346 cameras with a slightly larger CS mount lens type offering a variety of options for variable and fixed lenses.

Both new models offer a larger, more powerful global shutter sensor with genlock (signal sync).

“Global shutter camera sensors are nothing new to the broadcast pro AV industry. However, when our customers are challenged to capture ultra-fast motion within the field-of-view, motion anomalies become more of a challenge,” said Tod Musgrave, director of cameras at Marshall Electronics. 

“Global shutter sensors perform better in these environments as all pixels are exposed simultaneously. Rolling shutter sensors roll through the sensor array in sequence (usually top to bottom), which can cause warping or motion blur in extreme speed environments. This is not to say one is better than the other. Each play a role and have a purpose in video production,” he said.

The CV568 and CV368’s tri-level sync allows multiple cameras to be plugged into HD workflows already in sync (genlock), This enables seamless transitions between cameras with minimal amount of delay. Tri-level sync runs at higher frequency making the signal sync more accurate and more seamless, Marshall Electronics said.

TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics is preparing to launch a trio of cameras in 2021 that are designed to improve IP workflow. The CV730-BHN, CV620-BI and CV620-BN are all currently scheduled for release and feature IP and NDI | HX support.

The CV730-BHN is a high-bandwidth NDI PTZ camera with up to 4K60 resolution and 30x optical zoom packed with high-bandwidth NDI, NDI | HX and simultaneous 12G-SDI/HDMI 2.0 outputs. This camera is a new variant of Marshall's CV730 4K PTZ camera. The CV730-BHN is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2021.

The CV620-BI comes with 20x optical zoom, 3G-SDI, HDMI and IP/HEVC/SRT, while the CV620-BN has 20x optical zoom, 3G-SDI, HDMI and NDI | HX. Both of these cameras are expected to be released later this year, though the date has not been announced.

“Marshall is completely behind the big push in IP cameras with PTZ and fixed position camera options, whether it’s standard IP (HEVC), Haivision SRT or NewTek NDI,” said Tod Musgrave, director of Cameras, Marshall.

These new cameras are in addition to Marshall adding NDI and IP capabilities to other models, including the CV730 and CV630.

Marshall has also announced new tools to support setup and operation of the entire PTZ and Zoom camera lines. Among the tools is the Home Run RS232/RS422 Splitter Extender Box (RS7-HR), which can split control of one controller to up to seven cameras. Marshall also has the VS-PTC-200 and VS-PTC-IP to control things like iris, white balance and focus on PTZ cameras. The CV-H20-HF, CV6XX-HFH and CV7XX-HFH are IP68 housings for outdoor use of specific camera models.

CONCORD, N.C.—Marshall CV506 hit the track to help bring motorsports action to viewers of DIRTVision, a dirt racing broadcaster. The miniature CV506 full-HD camera offered the small form factor and high-quality images that the broadcaster sought.

Streaming around 400 dirt races each year, DIRTVision needed a camera that could handle the high-octane—and occasional crashes—of dirt racing. After working with production companies that used the CV506 and developing its own aluminum enclosure to offer protection, DIRTVision purchased its own set of CV506 cameras, according to Brian Dunlap, director, Broadcast Services, World Racing Group, the parent company of DIRTVision.

Four to five CV506 cameras are placed around the track and venue for every DIRTVision-covered race. They are in enclosures that are easy to set up and take down, as well as replace lens filters thanks to a screw-on feature.

The CV506 features 3G-SDI/HDMI and is built around a 2.5-Megapixel, 1/2.86-inch sensor that can deliver full-HD video up to 1920x1080p at 60/59/50fps and interlaced 1920x1080i at 60/59/50 fps, as well as 720p. The camera also has full-sized BNC (3G-SDI/HD-SDI) and HDMI outputs and locking I/O connection for power, control and stereo audio input. The CV506’s threaded M12 lens mount allows for a range of prime and varifocal lens options.

There are also remote adjustment and picture settings commands delivered via common RS485 or OSD menu joystick on a locking breakout cable. Other picture adjustment settings can be managed from a distance, including paint (red/blue), white balance, exposure, gain control, pedestal (blacks), white clip, gamma and more.

TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics has released two new models of NDI 4K PTZ cameras, the CV730-NDI and CV630-NDI.

The CV730-NDI features 4K60 over simultaneous 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0 and NDI|HX with up to 3840x2160p UHD resolution at 60 fps. The CV630-NDI, meanwhile, features up to 3840x2160p UHD resolution at 30 fps with 3G-SDI, HDMI and NDI|HX.

Both of the new PTZ models have an extended 30x optical zoom range wrapped around a Sony broadcast sensor. The viewing angle for CV730 starts at 65 degrees, while the CV630 starts at 70 degrees. The cameras also feature a 340-degree horizontal pan range and a120-degree vertical tilt.

Marshall is offering the CV630-NDI for $2,499, fully loaded, and the CV730-NDI for $4,995.

ML-454 supports a range of inputs, including HDMI, 3G-SDI and composite. Both SDI and composite inputs have active loop through with independent tallies and controls on each screen. The unit also features front panel access to functions, like aspect ratio, marker and backlight level.

The CV503-U3 features a lockable 6.5-foot USB 3.0 cable for simultaneous power and video capture, interchangeable lenses and adjustable settings via UVC1.5 for switching between soft codecs. The VAC-23SHU3 is designed to enable any HDMI or 3G/HD-SDI video and audio source to be ingested into a computer for live streaming, video conferencing, collaboration, video production and recording. The adapter offers users a plug-and-play setup.

Users can select either an HDMI or 3G/HD-SDI video source easily. Active HDMI/3G-SDI (BNC) loop-through outputs keep sources available for other purposes, such as feeding morintors, switchers or recorders. There is also UVC protocol support to control the video format, resolution, frame rates and other settings independent of the original source format.

TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics, in collaboration with pan/tilt head designer BR Remote, has crafted the CV-PT-HEAD micro P/T head for Marshall miniature cameras, including all of Marshall’s 500 series cameras.

The CV-PT-HEAD body is less than 3.5 inches tall and less than 2 inches wide. The camera head features a built-in camera power supply delivering a constant 12V to the camera socket as well as camera control data. Input voltage is from 12V to 35V, allowing operators to run up to 3,000 feet with a four-pin XLR cable. The input socket for power and control data is on the fixed base for greater freedom of movement. It also comes with an IP65 weatherproof rating.

Operators can use Marshall’s CV-MICRO-JYSTK controller for plug-and-play control of the CV-PT-HEAD.

Marshall says that it plans to continue to add more camera models in different configurations.

TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics has announced the release of two new zoom block cameras, the CV420-18X and CV355-10X.

The CV420-18X offers a compact 18x optical zoom block, 12.4 million pixels designed into a 1/1.7-inch 4K sensor and flexible 12GSDI/HDMI simultaneous outputs for producing 4K images up to 4096x2160p at 60 fps.

The CV355-10X, meanwhile, has a 10x optical zoom block, 2.5 million pixels with 1/2.8-inch covering the HD range and flexible 3GSDI/HDMI simultaneous outputs that creates HD images up to 1920x1080 at 60 fps. The CV355-10X is a replacement of the CV350-10X camera.

Both models feature remote adjust and match settings via a Marshall Electronics RCP camera controller or through the company’s free camera control software. There are remote adjustable settings that include zoom, iris, white balance, exposure, pedestal and more over long distances or during setup with capable auto tracking settings. Stereo audio embedding abilities and all usable frame rates, including 24 and 23.98 fps, are included. In addition, the camera’s feature ultra-low light sensitivity and low noise performance.

The CV730-BK is a PTZ camera that provides up to UHD (3840x2160) video resolution at 60fps through IP, HDMI and 12G-SDI simultaneous outputs. It supports triple stream H.265, H.264 and MJPEG formats. At launch, it supports SRT; an NDI 4 model is expected later in the year.

The CV630-IP is another PTZ camera that offers UHD resolution, but up to 30fps through IP and HDMI outputs, and HD (1920x1080) resolution at 60fps through 3G-SDI. It also supports triple stream like the CV730 and features the SRT at launch with the NDI 4 upcoming.

Then there is the CV420-30X-IP zoom camera, which provides up to UHD resolution at 60fps through simultaneous HDMI and IP streams. The CV355-30X-IP, meanwhile, delivers up to HD resolution at 60fps through 3G/HD-SDI, IP and HDMI. The cameras’ zoom range goes from 4.6mm to 135mm focal length. Each camera supports triple stream H.265/H.264/MJPEG video with MPEG-TS (SRT), as well as common IP protocols.

All four models offer 30x optical zoom range and are equipped with a next-generation 8.5-megapixel image sensor; the CV730 has the largest size sensor at 1/1.8-inches. In each, power can be supplied over Ethernet or separately with a 12V power supply. Remote control and adjustment can be delivered by either PoE or dedicated RS-232 using published Visca over IP commands. There is also a 3.5mm audio input on the rear panel that enables stereo audio embedding via AAC/G.711 encoding over IP with 44.1/48K sampling frequency on all models.

TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics has officially introduced two new 8.5 Megapixel IP cameras that feature 30x optical zoom and triple-stream H.265/H.264/MJPEG capabilities with the CV420-30X-IP and CV355-30X-IP.

The CV420 model can deliver up to UHD (3840x2160p) resolution at 60fps through simultaneous HDMI and IP streams. The CV355, meanwhile, delivers HD (1920x1080p) resolution at 60fps through 3G/HD-SDI, IP and HDMI. Both models feature a Sony 8.5 Megapixel 1/2.5-inch sensor and a 30x optical zoom range with 4.6mm to 135mm focal length range.

The cameras’ IP Ethernet I/O ports support triple-stream H.265/H.264/MJPEG video with MPEG-TS support, common IP control protocols and power over a single Ethernet cable with embedded stereo audio. Additional features include low-light sensitivity for use in a variety of environments, including non-traditional broadcast settings like courtrooms and government assemblies.

Marshall is now shipping the CV420 model, with the CV355 scheduled to be released on Nov. 11.

AMSTERDAM—Attendees at IBC 2019 will be among the first to see Marshall Electronic’s successor to its CV502-WPM camera when the CV503-WP all-weather HD miniature camera makes its debut during the conference, which will run from Sept. 13-17.

The camera has a 10-foot weatherproof cable that carries HD video, control and power to a full-sized 3G/HD-SDI output, RS485 connection and locking 12V power connector. With a next-gen 2.5 Megapixel, 1/2.86-inch sensor and ultra-low noise signal processors, the camera can deliver up to 1920x1080p at 60 fps and 1920x1080i at 60fps.

To allow for multiple lens options, the camera has a threaded M12 lens mount with a wider weatherproof cap. There is also the ability for remote adjustment for various picture settings via RCP or camera control software that can be made with or without manipulation of the OnScreen Display menu, such as exposure, white balance, paint adjustments, gain control, pedestal, white clip, gamma and more.

In addition, the CV503-WP comes in a compact, IP67-rated housing.

Marshall Electronics will showcase the CV503-WP mini camera at its stand, 12.D20, during IBC 2019.

TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics has updated four of its HD POV cameras and plans to introduce them to consumers at InfoComm Show 2019, which takes place in Orlando, Fla., June 8-15. The new models are CV503, CV506, CV344 and CV346, updates on Marshall’s CV502, CV505, CV343 and CV345, respectively.

Key parts of the new models include new technology HD sensors and upgraded processors, which are meant to provide a boost in color and clarity, as well as improved signal strength and ultra-low noise, notes Tod Musgrave, director of cameras at Marshall.

Additional updates include having all frame rates in one model; new stereo audio inputs; standard 23.98 fps; a new body style with locking I/O connections; white clip and pedestal control with remote image adjustment capability; and the ability for field-upgradable firmware updates as new features are added.

Holdovers from the previous POV cameras include low power consumption and ultra-low light technology; focal length and field-of-view flexibility with interchangeable lenses; remote control over RS485; and full size 3G/HD-SDI and HDMI outputs.

LAS VEGAS—Marshall Electronics has a quintet of new products that it will be demonstrating at the 2019 NAB Show, including three new cameras and two new monitors.

Marshall’s new camera offerings include the CV420-CS, the CV380-CS and the CV506-H12. The CV420-CS is a 4K60 system that features outputs of 12G/6G/3G/HD-SDI and HDMI 2.0, and has a varifocal or fixed CS/C lens mount capability with DC Auto-Iris plug-in for custom lens adaptations.

The CV380-CS is designed for point-of-view camera applications, and like the CV420, features a varifocal or fixed CS/C lens mount with DC Auto-Iris capability. It can also accept a range of interchangeable lenses.

Then there is the CV506-H12, which is designed to capture high-speed action for detailed, hi-def, slow-motion video. The camera can be controlled through RS485 and has a range of adjustable image settings, including paint, white balance, gain, pedestal, gamma, shutter and more. It comes with a 2-megapixel, 1/2.8-inch sensor with a single HDMI 2.0 output and a M12 lens mount that can be used with fixed prime or varifocal lens options.

On the monitor side, Marshall has the V-LCD173HR production monitor and the V-R241-4K master confidence monitor. The V-LCD173HR is a 17.3-inch monitor with HDMI/HDSDI conversion capability in a 6RU design. The unit can monitor up to two audio channels and features built-in histogram, peaking, false color, exposure and adjustable safety markers. It offers versatile mounting options and is REC 709 compliant.

With the V-R241-4K monitor, users will have a UHD master confidence monitor that can be used for remote trucks, broadcast studios and editing rooms. The monitor comes with waveform and vectorscope functions as well as in-monitor displays, tally, text and timecode. It also includes 16-channel audio bars, closed captioning decoding, built-in speakers and more. There are multiple ports for control over Ethernet, RS422/485, RS232 and GPI.

Announced at the NAB Show in April, Marshall Electronics will be on the show floor to demonstrate the Marshall CV620-WH2/BK2. Built around a 2-Megapixel, 1/2.8-inch sensor, the Marshall CV620-WH2/BK2 delivers 1920x1080 video with vibrant colors and fast frame rates. It can be controlled remotely via RS-232 over Ethernet cable or RS-422 over twisted pair, and uses common protocols making it compatible with most integrated control systems.

The Marshall CV620-WH2/BK2 has versatile outputs such as HD-SDI (3G) and HDMI (DVI) and includes broadcast adjustable settings such as white balance, exposure, iris, gamma and black level. The pan-tilt range spans 340-degree horizontally, and 120-degree vertically, and offers simultaneous 4D control for pan, tilt, zoom and focus.

With a 20x optical zoom (4.7 ~ 94mm) and variable transition speeds of 5 ~ 300 degrees per second with optional motionless transition, the company says users will be able to pan, tilt and zoom to any location without worrying about jerky camera movements or rushed zoom shots.

AMSTERDAM—Marshall Electronics will debut two new compact cameras and a high-speed for slo-mo at IBC 2018 at the RAI Amsterdam, Sept. 14-18.  

Built around a 12.4-Megapixel, 1/1.7-inch sensor, the Marshall CV420-CS is a new, compact true 4K camera that delivers crisp, clear 4096x2160p video with vibrant colors and fast frame rates in outputs including 12G/6G/3G/HD-SDI and HDMI 2.0. It has a Varifocal or Fixed CS/C lens mount capability with DC Auto-Iris plug-in for custom lens adaptions.

The CV420-CS offers the following resolution modes and frame rate settings:

• True 4K (4096x2160p) at 50, 59.94, 60, 25, 29.97, 30, and 24 fps

• UHD (3840x2160p) at 50, 59.94, 60, 25, 29.97, 30, and 24 fps

• Interlaced HD (1920x1080i) at 50, 59.94, and 60 fps

• Progressive HD (1080p and 720p) at 50, 59.94, 25, 29.97, and 24 fps

Remote control for the CV420-CS is operated by RS485 (Visca) or OSD menu joystick, and a wide range of picture adjustment settings are available such as Paint (Red/Blue), White Balance, Gain, Pedestal (blacks), Gamma, Shutter and more. The CV420-CS can capture detailed shots while maintaining a discrete presence and can be used as a fixed "e-PTZ" camera, where select windows of the image can be zoomed and panned within the frame.

Marshall will also highlight its CV380-CS POV camera, which uses an 8.5-Megapixel, 1/2.5-inch sensor to capture detailed video images, with outputs in 6G/3G/HD-SDI and HDMI 1.4.  The CV380-CS has a Varifocal or fixed CS/C lens mount with DC Auto-Iris capability and can accept a range of interchangeable lenses for enhanced customization. 

The CV380-CS offers three resolution modes with the following frame rate settings:

• UHD (3840x2160p) at 25, 29.97, and 24 fps
• Progressive HD (1080p and 720p) at 50, 59.94, 25, 29.97, and 24 fps
• Interlaced HD (1080i) at 50, 59.94, and 60 fps

Also on hand will be the new ultra-high-speed Marshall CV506-H12, built for capturing high-speed action for detailed, high-definition slow-motion video.

The CV506-H12 offers the following resolution and frame rates settings:

• Progressive HD (1080p and 720p) at 120 fps
• Interlaced HD (1080i) at 50, 59.94, and 60 fps

The CV506-H12 can be controlled through RS485 (Visca) and has a range of adjustable image settings including Paint (Red/Blue), White Balance, Gain, Pedestal (black), Gamma, Shutter and more. It has a 2-Megapixel, 1/2.8-inch sensor with single HDMI 2.0 output.

The M12 lens mount can be used with fixed prime or varifocal lens options, and the lightweight, small footprint build enables it to be placed easily into tight, hard-to-reach locations for unique angles and viewpoints. The CV506-H12 is designed for use in broadcast, live sports, machine vision, process analysis and any other slow-motion application.

The CV380-CS and CV506-H12 are among the first additions to Marshall’s latest generation of compact and miniature cameras utilizing a fully redesigned body style and form factor. Special attention has been given to enhance durability in the field with the addition of new structural ‘wings,’ designed to give greater protection to rear connectors during use.

TORRANCE, CA—Marshall Electronics—a provider of video, audio and multimedia systems for broadcast, pro A/V, audio and OEM applications—announces the new Marshall VMV-402-SH, a compact, lightweight quad-viewer and switcher. The switcher allows users to view up to four 3G HD-SDI video signals in resolutions up to 1920x1080p, making it especially suitable for any control room requiring multiple video inputs to be displayed on a single screen.

The Marshall VMV-402-SH enables broadcasters to add cameras to create more compelling productions, and then seamlessly switch between the inputs to select a single view for output. It also offers independent audiometers and control, with the ability to adjust brightness, contrast, hue and saturation.

The Marshall VMV-402-SH has an embedded processor that converts signals from input sources to match the native resolution of monitors, flat panel displays and projectors, as well as one SDI output and one HDMI output, with user-selectable output settings up to 4K2K 60Hz (HDMI output.

The Marshall VMV-402-SH is pre-programmed with five default quad-view layouts and supports tally function when using the quad-view output. The easy-access, front facing buttons light up to let users know which video source is selected. The unit can also be controlled through IR remote control, RS-232 over USB and Ethernet.

The switcher expands Marshall’s product portfolio, which includes: POV and PTZ cameras, format converters, conferencing microphones, and pro AV production equipment.

TORRANCE, CALIF.—The studious minds of Harvard fans may have noticed some new angles during recent sports broadcasts of their beloved Crimson. These new angles came courtesy of Marshall Electronics’ POV cameras and are being used for broadcasts of Ivy League Network games for ice hockey, basketball, water polo, swimming and diving.

For its hockey games, Harvard’s production staff is using Marshall’s third generation CV343-CSB/CS camera. The camera features a 1/3-inch, high-speed sensor packing 2.5 megapixels of video through 3G/HD-SDI outputs. Proprietary pixel technology provides low noise ratio and can capture color images in low-light conditions, as low as 0.05 lux, per Marshall. Harvard uses the cameras to film commentators in the booth, the penalty box and behind-the-net shots.

For its underwater sports, Harvard utilizes Marshall’s CV502-WPMB/WPM. The camera is encased in a waterproof IP67-rated housing unit to provide live, underwater view of the action. Custom, adjustable mounts are placed on the cameras to allow for placement on any section of the pool.

The CV502-M camera from Marshall is Harvard’s choice for basketball broadcasts, providing behind-the-backboard angles and wide-angle locked-down shots.

Imry Halevi, director of multimedia & production for Harvard Athletics, praised the implementation of the Marshall cameras, saying in the press release: “we can use these small and very easy to set up cameras, and not have to worry about training our crew in using new gear. It really helps set broadcasts apart when viewers can see angles they don’t expect.”

TORRANCE, CALIF.—IBC 2017 will serve as the stage where Marshall Electronics unveils its new CV225 IP67 Lipstick Camera. Featuring light sensor technology in a compact, weatherproof design, the CV225 is designed for broadcast television applications including sports, reality TV, weather and more.

The CV225 is Marshall’s second generation lipstick camera after the CV200 and offers enhancements to image clarity, true colors, low light performance and now has the ability to remotely adjust without needing on screen display menus.

Marshall has stocked the CV225 with a 1/3-inch high-speed 2.5 Megapixel sensor to pack more than 2.4 million pixels through a single full-sized 3G/HD-SDI output in 1920x1080i, 1920x1080p and 1280x720p resolutions at 60/59.94/50/30/29.97/25 fps. It also has an IP67-rated weatherproof design, a 1/4-20 mount and a 10-foot breakout cable for remote control and adjustment.

Marshall is offering the CV225 in two models, the CV225-M that support 50/60/25/30 fps and the CV225-MB that supports 59.94/29.97 fps.

IBC 2017 takes place from Sept. 15-19 in Amsterdam, with Marshall Electronics located at booth 12.D20 on the show floor.

TORRANCE, CALIF.—Marshall Electronic’s New Broadcast Pro A/V division will have a new director of sales, as the company has named Steven C. Huey to that position. The new division combines Marshall’s broadcast and pro A/V vision under a single sales group, unifying its efforts to develop and expand technologies in the conferencing and professional audio-visual market.

Huey joins Marshall after previously serving as vice president, worldwide sales and marketing at Vaddio. Other prior positions include senior VP and chief marketing officer for Polycom and VP, worldwide marketing communications for Compaq/Hewlett Packard.

EL SEGUNDO, CALIF.—Marshall Electronics has added two new cameras to its line of Pro-Series POV cameras, the CV505 Mini Broadcast camera and the CV345 Compact Broadcast camera. Each camera comes with next generation chip sets that improve video production as well as support audio input for capturing local sound at camera level.

Like the CV645, the CV505 utilizes 2.5 Megapixel sensors to capture HD color images at high-speeds with low light capability. It is built around a 1/3-inch 2.5MP sensor, set in a 1 ½-inch body with 3.7mm interchangeable lenses. The CV345 also features a 1/3-inch 2.5MP sensor but is instead housed in a 2 ½-inch body with CS/C lens mount and DC Auto-Iris. Both models provide flexibility in HD lens options. In addition, each camera support embedding audio on 3G/HD-SDI and HDMI feeds simultaneously when captured via 3.5mm TRS stereo input.

The CV505 and CV345 will be released in late November and available through Marshall Electronics dealers and distributors.
