                                <p>WEITERSTADT, Germany—<a href="https://www.tvtechnology.com/news/lynx-technik-to-feature-new-av-delay-compensator-for-greenmachine-testor-at-ibc-2024">LYNX Technik</a> has unveiled the PEC 1464 12G-SDI, HDMI H.264/265 streamer and recorder, the successor to its <a href="https://www.tvtechnology.com/show-news/nab-show-product-review-content-streaming">PEC 1864</a>.</p><p>The PEC 1464 H.264/H.265 encoder is a versatile tool for streaming and recording content at the same time. Users can choose to stream content while recording, stream only in unicast or multicast or record only, the company said.</p><p>The PEC 1464 enables:</p><ul><li><strong>Streaming and archiving: </strong>Stream live events or broadcasts to a content delivery network (CDN) while creating a backup recording for archive.</li><li><strong>Live content distribution: </strong>Stream to a CDN for global distribution or multicast a video feed within a network.</li><li><strong>Multicast professional media production and streaming: </strong>The PEC 1464 is well-suited to distributing a single stream of audio and video content to multiple recipients simultaneously.</li><li><strong>Online video platform streaming: </strong>Stream live video to providers such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and Rumble.</li></ul><p>The PEC 1464 supports 12G and is compatible with the Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) protocol, which optimizes streaming performance across public networks like the internet.  It also supports Real-Time Messaging Protocol Secure (RTMPS), which provides a higher level of security for live streaming and can stream multiple protocols simultaneously, the company said.</p><p>The unit supports video formats up to 12G/4K UHD and HDMI up to Wide Quad Ultra XGA, as well as all popular streaming formats. Video processing capabilities include automatic logo insertion and the ability to insert custom images, the company said.</p><p>Downscaling features optimize resolution management, while frame-rate downconversion supports seamless playback compatibility. Text overlay capabilities enrich content with dynamic textual elements. The company’s logo inserter supports multiple formats, and a transmission fallback option ensures continuity with a test pattern when needed.                                 <p><strong>WEITERSTADT, Germany</strong>—LYNX Technik will showcase the newly introduced AV Delay Compensator, the company’s latest addition to its greenMachine Testor solution, at IBC 2024, Sept. 13-16, at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Center.</p><p>The new feature streamlines the testing and measurement process of audio timing errors and instantly corrects such problems, the company said.</p><p>Testor is well-known in the industry as an audio and video signal test signal generator for UHD/HD/SD 12G, 3G SDI signals hosted on the greenMachine platform. The new AV Delay Compensation feature enables facilities to measure and test embedded audio timing errors and fix them in an instant, it said.</p><p>Measured values can be sent over a network to a second greenMachine that precisely corrects all AV delay issues in the video path, it said.</p><p>Each stage of the broadcast signal chain can introduce delay, whether due to latency issues, transmission or signal processing methods. Through advanced signal processing, Testor’s AV Delay Compensation feature enhances efficiency and accuracy in maintaining AV timing and lip sync, it said.</p><p>AV Delay Compensation for Testor streamlines broadcast operations by simplifying the process of testing, verifying and correcting audio and video synchronization, the company said.</p><p>When operating in UHD (4K) mode, one (12G) UHD channel with up to 64 audio channels is supported; when switched to 3G mode, four independent 3G HDSDI channels with 16 channels of audio are provided. Testor also has a complete library of standard static and dynamic video test patterns. User-defined signal patterns can also be uploaded if needed. Logos and text overlays can also be inserted into test signals for channel identification.                                 <p><strong>WEITERSTADT, Germany</strong>—LYNX TECHNIK has expanded its yellobrik portfolio with two new AES and analog audio embedders/de-embedders that support SDI formats up to 12G that will be shown during IBC 2023, Sept. 15-18, at RAI Amsterdam.</p><p>The multi-purpose PDM 1484 B and PDM 1484 D have the ability to embed and de-embed at the same time, the company said.</p><p>The PDM 1484 B (the “B” designates a BNC audio connection) supports unbalanced AES audio, while the PDM 1484 D (the “D” designates D-sub audio connection) supports balanced AES and analog audio, it said.</p><p>Both allow access to four audio groups (16 channels), which can be selected and assigned by a rotatory switch on the unit or via LynxCentraal or yelloGUI software. By cascading or racking modules together, additional audio groups can be included in or extracted from the video stream. Embedded audio automatically remains synchronized to video, it said.</p><p>Built-in auto-black generation mode enables the modules to be used to transport audio signals only without the need for an external video carrier, providing a cost, space, and energy-efficient way to transport multi-channel audio over fiber (or coax) while avoiding the need for dedicated audio A/D converters and external optical conversion, it said.</p><p>The bidirectional master/slave functionality and CWDM multiplex capability expand the flexibility of the modules into dedicated bi-directional audio applications. Both models support fiber I/O options, including 3G/12G-SDI standard plug-in SFP fiber transmitters, receivers, and transceivers. All 18 wavelength channels of CWDM are also supported with dedicated SFPs, it said.<br><br>The new PDM 1484 B/D yellobriks, available in August, are compatible with the yelloGUI and LynxCentraal configuration, control, and monitoring software applications.                                 <p><strong>WEITERSTADT, Germany</strong>—LYNX Technik, provider of modular signal processing interfaces, has announced the addition of a new HDMI to SDI converter (model: CHD 1402) to its popular yellobrik line.</p><p>The CHD 1402 is designed for any AV, broadcast, production, or post application that requires signal conversion from up to 4K HDMI to up to 12G SDI. It is the successor of the popular CHD 1802, which supports up to 3G SDI, the company said. </p><p>A typical use case would be when a facility needs to convert an HDMI output from an external source, such as a video camera, into an SDI format. All audio present in the HDMI stream is passed transparently. With the SDI fiber output and SFP transmitter options, the SDI signal can then be transmitted over fiber to a remote location. In addition, a complementary yellobrik, the CDH 1411 SDI to HDMI converter could be used to provide the SDI output and an HDMI monitoring output in the remote location, including displaying audio, metadata, and timecode overlays, the company explained. </p><p>As with all yellobriks, the new CHD 1402 is compatible with the yelloGUI and LynxCentraal central software applications.                                 <p><strong>WEITERSTADT, Germany</strong>—LYNX Technik has announced its new, second-generation yellobrik SPG 1708 sync pulse generator with genlock and support for UHD. </p><p>The successor to the yellobrik 1707, the new model is a portable solution that ensure lock to any HD or SD sync input with full cross-lock functionality, even across unmatched standards, the company said.</p><p>The yellobrik SPG 1708 provides 3x HD tri-level sync outputs and 3x SD bi-level sync outputs. It supports all SD, HD, 3G-UHD, 12G and composite (PAL and NTSC) video formats. Separate audio sync output can be switched between 48 kHz Word Clock or Digital Audio Reference (DARS), it said.</p><p>Precision temperature-controlled oscillators with an accuracy of 2ppm ensures ultra-stability.                                 <p><strong>WEITERSTADT, Germany</strong>—Lynx Technik has announced a new portable multiformat and multistandard waveform monitor, the WFM 1801. </p><p>The WFM 1801, which comes with a built-in vectorscope and audio monitoring, is designed to monitor, evaluate, measure and display the levels of an incoming video signal (up to 3G SDI) and provide technicians and engineers with a versatile hand-held diagnostic tool for multiple formats and applications.</p><p>Features include a 5-inch integrated LCD touch-screen display that provides a monochrome waveform, vector and audio monitoring for up to 16 channels. The integrated vectorscope measures the chrominance of a video signal, including hue and saturation.                                 <p><strong>WEITERSTADT, Germany—</strong>Lynx Technik unveiled its new RCT 1012 rack controller to make it simple to control, configure and update the yellobrik line of throw-down bricks.</p><p>The new rack controller allows a facility to combine control tasks for up to 12 yellobriks housed in a yellobrik rack. The controller, which uses a single slot in a yellobrik rack system, eliminates the time-consuming job of updating, configuring and setting parameters one at a time for individual yellobrik modules by enabling bulk updates.</p><p>Upon installation, the rack controller automatically detects the USB-connected yellobrik modules and displays them in the APPolo software.                                 <p><strong>WEITERSTADT, Germany—</strong>Lynx Technik has unveiled a new 2x2 optical switch, the OSW 1022, for its yellobrik line of “throw down” bricks. </p><p>The OSW 1022 is designed to improve connectivity and security on fiber networks, serve as a fiber line emergency switch, provide restoration and reconfiguration over optical paths, route diversity as well as support a range of other public fiber optic applications. It also provides optical network protection and flexibility in optical network connectivity for broadcast or AV facilities, per Lynx Technik.</p><p>The 2x2 optical switch selectively switches signals over optical fibers from one channel to another. It is data rate and format-independent, providing connection paths between two fiber inputs and two fiber outputs.</p><p>There are two modes with the OSW 1022, latching and non-latching. Latching mode sees the OSW 1022 maintain its current optical connection path when power is weak or lost. In non-latching mode, the yellobrik switches to a new connection path when power fails, and then reverting to its original path when power returns.</p><p>OSW 1022 can be configured with the yelloGUI software.                                 <p><strong>WEITERSTADT, Germany—</strong>Lynx Technik is rolling out its new 8K SDI to fiber and fiber to 8K SDI converter that works with its Series 500 product line of rack and card-based modular interfaces.</p><p>The 8K SDI <> Fiber Converter is a DVD 5480 HO module that supports video formats up to 8K SDI and features both a fiber and electrical interface. The module transports and converts up to 8K SDI over optical fiber cable and vice versa. Operating as a 12G-SDI reclocking distribution amplifier, it carries 4K video on a single cable and works with any SDI video signal up to 12G for 4K applications.</p><p>This new Series 5000 card also enables single-link 12G SDI signals to be converted to quad-link 3G-SDI and vice versa. It also supports 6G to/from quad-link 1.5G conversions.                                 <p><strong>LAS VEGAS</strong> — At the 2018 NAB Show LYNX Technik AG will showcase its new Testor app, which adds multiformat test signal generator functionality to the company’s greenMachine platform. The Testor app enables trouble-shooting in the field, studio and master control.</p><p>Users can customize greenMachine functionality by downloading apps from the company’s greenStore. And for configuring and controlling the system, there’s also downloadable greenGUI software, which lets users check test signals, control outputs and format settings.</p><p><strong><a href="https://www.tvtechnology.com/news/lynx-technik-greenmachine-honored-at-satis-2017">[Read: Lynx Technik greenMachine Honored at SATIS 2017]</a></strong></p><p>User-defined signal patterns can be uploaded into the app, and logos and text can be inserted into test signals for channel identification. The embedded scaler allows user-defined patterns to be scaled to match the format. Compatible with greenMachine Titan hardware, the unit supports 12G, 3G, HD, SD-SDI formats, and replaces four separate 3G test generators, while allowing networked greenMachines to access and share Testor configurations.</p><p>In UHD mode, it provides a single-channel test generator, and four independent test generators with individual logo and text insertions, as well as a 16-channel audio test generator with adjustable level and frequency, which is embedded in the SDI video or output to greenMachine’s external audio outputs.</p><p>LYNX Technik will be in the IABM member lounge, N110MLR.</p>

The titan accepts either 4x 3G SDI (quad link) or 12G SDI (single link) inputs for 4K/UHD applications. The greenMachine APPs allow for conversion between single link and quad link 12G SDI signals. The system also has an optional 12G SDI fiber I/O and APPs for the system that support 4K/UHD, including frame synchronization, embedding/de-embedding, up/down conversion and more.</p><p>Also on tap for the show is the DVD 1417 model of the yellowbrik series, a universal 12G SDI reclocking distribution amplifier for SDI video up to 12G for carrying 4K video on a single cable. The DVD 1417 can auto-detect an SDI input up to 12G and passes it directly to seven outputs.</p><p>Lynx Technik will also have model DVD 1423, a new dual channel 12G reclocking distribution amplifier that accepts a single input and offers three outputs per channel. This model is suitable for any SDI/HD-SDI video signal up to 12G for 4K applications.</p><p>All of these products will be on display at booth 8.C70 during IBC 2017, which runs from Sept. 15-19 in Amsterdam.</p>

It’s ideal for adjusting a monitor’s output and resolving color accuracy issues.</p><p>The failover app is a two-channel changeover switch for applications that require an emergency switch for backup or clean switching between two video sources. The DolbyE decoder enables decoding of all eight audio channels in a DolbyE stream to PCM audio. Two instances of this app can be used per greenMachine simultaneously. And the teletext viewer enables remote monitoring of teletext content within a video stream.</p><p>The 2017 NAB Show takes place in Las Vegas, April 24-27.
