NEVADA City, Calif.—At IBC2025, Sept. 12-15 at the RAI Amsterdam, Telestream will debut its new Global Ingest strategy, introducing a next-generation ingest architecture that seamlessly unifies live capture, camera card ingest, and file-based workflows.

Built on the Vantage platform, the new workflow capabilities are designed for ultimate flexibility, scalability, and efficiency, supporting on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments, the company said. Central to the strategy is Telestream’s practical use of AI; rather than generating unstructured “metadata dumps,” Telestream Global Ingest produces structured, system-aware, and standards-compliant metadata at the point of capture. This enables instant interoperability with a wide range of platforms, such as Avid, Iconik, and Mimir, accelerating editorial, archive discovery and distribution while eliminating workflow bottlenecks, according to the company.

NEVADA CITY, Calif.—Telestream today unveiled Vantage AI, a platform-wide evolution of artificial intelligence capabilities that enable smarter, faster and more adaptive media workflows from ingest to delivery, and will show it at IBC2025, set for Sept. 12-15 at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Center.

Building on Vantage’s ability to automate complex operations, the AI expansion broadens the scope of what can be automated.

PARIS—Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ), Ireland’s national public-service media company, has chosen Dalet to develop and implement a state-of-the-art content management ecosystem, the company said.

As part of the agreement, Dalet will provide a scalable, flexible and collaborative media asset-management and workflow orchestration platform that will serve as the foundation to manage RTÉ archival workflows as well as production workflows connected to its content, such as video editing.

In addition, Dalet will provide a high-density ingest and playout solution to manage content capture, ensuring that metadata is meticulously captured.

“This partnership with Dalet represents a significant step in the transformation of RTÉ into a modern media organization,” RTÉ chief technology officer and director of operations Richard Waghorn said. “A key element in that transformation is the development of solutions that enable us to deliver our programming and content, including a vast amount of archive material, to our audiences more easily and more effectively. Dalet’s content management ecosystem will ensure we can do that.”

The new content management ecosystem, named “One Media Share,” will integrate about 1.3 million hours of content from 19 siloed content storage and archive systems, including in-production content, nearline stored digital content, and deep archive content stored on tape. Dalet’s platform will standardize metadata, ensuring all content is fully accessible and searchable. This comprehensive integration will maximize the return on RTÉ’s existing investments by enhancing production and delivery workflows.

At the 2024 NAB Show, Riedel Communications has unveiled its expanded RiCapture ingest solutions line with the addition of RiCapture i8, i44, and i84. Complementing the RiCapture i4 platform, these additions provide increased channel density and/or UHD resolution, 8- and 10-bit support, and expanded internal SSD storage.

According to Riedel, the new RiCapture SSE interface for scheduling, streaming, and exporting offers a powerful and compact solution for multichannel HD/UHD ingest recording and integration to postproduction. The SSE control application lets users select between high-resolution DNxHD/R, H.264, or a combination of the two, and also includes audio-mapping and down-mix audio-listening capabilities. 

This allows RiCapture to record media locally, on removable storage, on network-attached storage, or to live-streaming destinations. The system can be expanded to a network of multiple servers for higher-density recording and unlimited destinations with control from a single SSE interface, the company reported. 

RiCapture’s i4 and i8 provide four or eight HD HDR input channels respectively, while the i44 and i84 each support four UHD channels with HDR capability in addition to their HD HDR channel capacities. On the audio side, all RiCapture products are capable of 16 channels of embedded audio per channel, as well as 64 Dante or AES67 channels.

In all configurations, RiCapture offers high-quality recording in DNxHD or DNxHR along with H.264 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 encoding to local storage. The local recording storage platform offers continuous loop recording for the captured content, with options to stream it manually or with a scheduler, or to clip and export files as needed from the available local storage to numerous streaming destinations, the company said. 

There are three software add-ons available in the RiCapture product line. The first is the VDR panel, a web-based UI with expanded multichannel control for clip playback, program delays, monitor wall playback and other scenarios. The second is the RiView application, which is a multiviewer UI that includes audio down-mix monitoring for synchronized review of record feeds for review, clipping, and export to multiple destinations. And the third is the XDCAM add-on, which provides the tapeless XDCAM format for HD video acquisition and storage.

"As a complete suite for multichannel ingest recording capture and transfer to postproduction, RiCapture caters to a wide range of markets — from sports, concerts, and theaters to motion picture applications," said Bernard Stas, Riedel Communication’s product manager for live video production. HUDSON, Mass. — Facilis will debut the latest upgrades to its high-performance shared storage solutions for collaborative media production networks at the 2018 IBC Show at the RAI (Stand 7.C14), in Amsterdam Sept. 14–18. To enable more efficient use of its TerraBlock shared storage and Hub Server systems, Facilis will showcase v7.1 of its Shared File System, FastTracker v2.5, and a preview of features still in development.

Building on v7.0, which introduced a web console interface and some shared file system enhancements, v7.1 adds workflow management features including:

• Real-time and historical bandwidth monitoring of volumes and workstations;
• RAID50 and RAID51 management through an admin console;
• Preferred connection address for multipath networks;
• Automatic load balancing of clients across server IPs;
• Remote client deployment to facilitate upgrades in multiclient facilities.

LONDON—Encompass Digital Media has turned to Damon Group │ United Kingdom to provides its U.K. operations facility in central London with an integrated ingest platform. The facility serves as a 24/7/365 broadcast hub for multi-national media companies, broadcasters and corporations.

“We designed, integrated, supplied and installed a complete solution based on Dalet’s AmberFin Ingest software and Broadware’s Flexis control software products,” said Chris Elson, product sales manager for Damon Group. “There are six ingest servers arranged in pairs, all of which are housed in the Encompass EMEA tape archive. Each pair is easily transportable and connected to a Flexis controller ingesting from two VTRs running inside a Flexicart.”

Damon Group designed an upgrade for the barcode readers in Flexicarts for Encompass’ tape library that support a wider range of barcodes. VTR error data logging has also been integrated so ang VTR ingest errors can be called using a REST API.

SEATTLE – White-label video publishing company thePlatform has announced the cloud-based Unified Ingest Service to centrally manage all video and related metadata files is now available for operators who want to publish to subscribers’ set-top boxes and other IP-connected devices.

The Unified Ingest Service is a streamlined system that manages direct feeds from satellite transmissions, traditional video pumps, operator-owned content delivery networks and external CDNS for online video sources. It also provides centralized back-end resources to package, promote and sell video services.

It can ingest both video files and metadata. For video files, the system supports the industry’s shift to terrestrial delivery and on receiving one HD mezzanine file for both traditional cable delivery and IP delivery; provides advanced workflows to get files into formats needed for legacy STBs, next-gen STBs, game consoles, tablets, smartphones and more; and works with thePlatform’s mpx Accelerate service.
