MONTREAL—Grass Valley is launching AMPP Edge Live, a purpose-built production system designed to bring professional production capabilities to enterprise teams. The company will unveil AMPP Edge Live at InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas, June 17 to 19 (North Hall: N7369-MR).

Media production teams within enterprise organizations such as education, government, corporate communications, houses of worship and live events are often asked to do more with limited resources, yet existing production systems often lack the flexibility to support new workflows without significant additional investment, Grass Valley said.

AMPP Edge Live addresses this challenge by providing a flexible production foundation that grows with organizational needs, by combining Grass Valley hardware, NVIDIA Blackwell GPU acceleration and AMPP OS in a single solution, according to the company.

“Production requirements are constantly evolving as audience expectations shift, creating challenges for enterprise organizations whose production infrastructures were not designed for today’s demands,” said Jonathan Lyth, Product Director for Enterprise Media, Grass Valley. “Businesses need production platforms that combine operational agility with the confidence of reliable performance. AMPP Edge Live delivers both, enabling organizations to adapt and scale production capabilities without adding operational complexity.”

The solution is available in two models that serve different production demands:

AMPP Edge Live 4000 is ideal for live event production and provides the performance to run solutions such as Event Producer X, which brings production switching, graphics, audio mixing, recording, streaming, monitoring and production control into a single browser-based interface.

AMPP Edge Live 6000 adds processing performance for more demanding production requirements and supports Sport Producer X, which combines switching, graphics, scoring, timing, data integration and instant replay for sports production.

Across both models, operators can manage workflows that previously required multiple specialist systems and dedicated personnel, all through one production environment, Grass Valley said.

AMPP Edge Live also simplifies lifecycle management through a unified ownership model. Grass Valley designs, validates and supports AMPP Edge Live as a complete solution, managing hardware validation, software compatibility, updates and support through a single point of accountability. This removes much of the integration burden associated with multi-vendor environments while helping ensure organizations remain ready for future production requirements.

AMPP Edge Live is built on a short-depth 4 RU chassis with redundant power and modular AMPP I/O cards, so connectivity can be tailored to each workflow. It includes enterprise-grade security, centralized management and role-based access controls, and forms part of the Grass Valley Media Universe, supporting on-premise, hybrid and cloud-connected workflows.

AMPP Edge Live is available now in the L4000 and L6000 appliance models, with SDI 8 and SDI 12 AMPP I/O card options and media storage choices of 2 TB or 4 TB.

By pairing PTZOptics camera robotics with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 -powered compute and LayerJot’s agentic AI application layer, both exhibitors will demonstrate how Visual Reasoning can move from concept to deployable workflow without requiring large teams, custom hardware stacks, or cloud-only processing.

"AV and enterprise buyers today are asking the same question: how do we deploy AI that actually works in our environment, without building a data center or waiting on the cloud?” said Dr. Ben Cope, Principal Engineer, Intel. “Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors were purpose-built with that reality in mind, delivering the on-device AI compute performance that makes local visual reasoning practical at scale. Collaborating with PTZOptics and LayerJot lets buyers take that compute capability and turn it directly into deployable, prompt-driven camera workflows. Together, we're removing the barriers between AI potential and operational reality."

Visual Reasoning
For PTZOptics, the demo is part of its broader Visual Reasoning initiative, which focuses on turning video into actionable data by combining camera robotics, AI, and open integration. Visual Reasoning is designed to help systems describe, count, understand, and trigger actions based on what cameras see, supporting workflows across broadcast, pro AV, education, healthcare, manufacturing, houses of worship, and live events, the company said.

“Visual Reasoning becomes powerful when integrators and developers can adapt it to the needs of everyday environments,” said Matt Davis, CTO, PTZOptics. “This partnership shows what is possible when robotic cameras, local AI compute, and prompt-driven automation come together. Our goal is to inspire the pro AV community to build customized solutions faster, more affordably, and with more flexibility than ever before.”

LayerJot’s Agentic Visual Application (AVA) connects to the PTZOptics SimplTrack3 camera and uses AI prompting to identify and/or track objects in the space. The demonstration will show how developers can create custom AI workflows that connect directly to camera control, while giving users the freedom to direct camera actions using natural language.

“We’re focused on delivering advanced visual AI solutions that combine scene understanding, automation, and natural-language interaction to support critical workflows in real-world environments,” said Etay Gafni, CEO of LayerJot. “This demonstration shows how scene understanding and natural-language instructions can drive meaningful actions in live operations, enabling users to interact with complex systems in a more intuitive and efficient way.”

Example workflows include prompting the system to identify an object or person in the room, directing the camera to track that target, and showing how similar logic could be adapted for classroom automation, event production, training spaces, and other applications where small teams need consistent video coverage.

The demonstration also reflects a larger shift in the AV industry, the companies said. Cameras are no longer limited to passive capture. With Visual Reasoning, robotic cameras can become intelligent endpoints that help systems interpret what is happening, make decisions, and trigger workflows in real time. PTZOptics says it is working with a wide range of partners and integrators to combine their own domain expertise with PTZOptics cameras via open APIs – supporting teams and improving operations across multiple industries.

The live demonstration will be available at PTZOptics’ booth N8227 during InfoComm 2026.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—Cobalt Digital, a provider of signal processing products and a founding partner in the openGear initiative, will highlight its expanding IPMX ecosystem at InfoComm 2026 in Booth N7163.

The solutions are designed to bring broadcast quality to Pro AV applications.

The lineup includes standalone signal processors, audio monitors, multiviewers, gateways, converters, encoders, and decoders that make SMPTE ST 2110 workflows easy to deploy, manage and scale.

Designed for systems integrators as well as end users, Cobalt’s interoperable IPMX certified product portfolio provides a straightforward migration path from SDI to IP — delivering the flexibility and scalability of ST 2110 without the complexity traditionally associated with high-end IP infrastructures.

“Pro AV customers are looking for practical ways to transition to IP without overcomplicating their workflows while protecting their legacy investments,” said Suzana Brady, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for Cobalt Digital. “Our goal is to make ST 2110 and IPMX approachable for integrators and end users alike. We’re providing a complete solution that combines broadcast-grade reliability with the ease of deployment and operation the Pro AV market demands.”

At the center of Cobalt’s InfoComm lineup is the new COBALT blueCORE family of fully featured standalone signal processors designed to bridge SDI and ST 2110/IPMX environments. blueCORE combines the audio and video processing functions required for live production and AV signal management into a single 1RU device.

blueCORE’s self-contained architecture makes deployment fast and simple: power up the unit, connect signals, and it is ready to operate with or without a computer. A large touchscreen front panel enables fast, intuitive local configuration, and four illuminated control knobs allow functions (such as color correction) to be adjusted without an external control panel. blueCORE can also be deployed in traditional fixed installations and remotely managed through a Web GUI.

blueCORE capabilities include up/down/cross conversion, color correction, HDR processing, audio routing and mixing, per-channel frame sync, frame rate conversion, audio embedding and de-embedding, SCTE 104 insertion, logo insertion, and numerous additional base features — delivering extensive functionality in a single compact platform.

Cobalt will also demonstrate enhancements to the Cobalt Pacific compression platform including a new ST 2110/IPMX output option for the Cobalt Pacific ULL-DEC upgradeable software-defined decoder. The enhancement allows decoded content to be available simultaneously over SDI and ST 2110/IPMX. The device includes a built-in frame sync that can be configured to emit a PTP-locked signal for ST 2110 operation.

Cobalt also leverages the Pacific line to deliver a complete solution for interconnecting IPMX sites over the Internet. The Pacific 9992-ENC “IPMX-to-Internet” gateway appears as a destination within the NMOS controller at the sending site, enabling any patched content to be transmitted instantly to the corresponding Pacific ULL-DEC “Internet-to-IPMX” gateway at the receiving end. There the signal is visible in the NMOS controller as a sender and can be routed anywhere within the facility.

When using RIST, the Pacific 9992-ENC supports one-to-many distribution, allowing the same live content to be transported simultaneously to multiple destinations. This gateway acts as a bridge between IPMX on one end, and RIST/SRT on the Internet end, while also encoding or decoding audio/video at a reasonable bitrate.

Cobalt is also introducing new, entry level fixed-function openGear® cards designed to provide cost-effective entry points with license-based scalability up to four paths for expanding workflows.

The new 9925-FSx Frame Sync openGear card is a one-path frame sync card (field-upgradable to four paths) with optional audio processing support for AES, MADI, and DANTE 64. The new 9981-LUTx Color Processor openGear® card offers options including SCALER, BBC LUT, COLOR, 4K, LOGO, ANC, and is also field‑upgradable to four paths.

Cobalt’s ARIA Audio series includes the industry’s only fully IPMX-compliant audio monitor, giving AV facilities an easy way to incorporate professional audio confidence monitoring into IP-based workflows. The customizable touch-display front panel enables intuitive operation with eight individual volume controls for mixing, while remote control is available through a web interface.

The Cobalt UltraBlue MV-SW multiviewers provide a flexible monitoring solution for facilities operating in compressed (multiple protocols), SDI, ST 2110, IPMX, or hybrid environments. Available as either a turnkey solution with four HDMI heads or as a software package running on customer-supplied dedicated hardware, UltraBlue supports compressed and baseband audio/video over IP across multiple protocols and formats with highly flexible audio routing capabilities. Native IPMX support allows facilities to transition smoothly toward either ST 2110 or IPMX workflows while maintaining support for SDI inputs and outputs.

Cobalt will also showcase multiple models in the Cobalt Sapphire family of IPMX-capable standalone mini converters. Available in single, dual, and quad-channel configurations, select models can simultaneously transmit and receive signals while converting between IPMX/ ST 2110 signals and SDI/HDMI. Supporting both baseband video and ST 2110/IPMX, SAPPHIRE converters provide space-saving, low-latency tools for introducing IPMX into virtually any workflow.

The Cobalt Indigo gateway solutions provide a powerful on and off ramp between SDI and IP with support for both IPMX and ST 2110.

Designed specifically for hybrid infrastructures, Indigo simplifies interoperability, routing, and format translation while preserving image quality and low-latency performance — essential for organizations transitioning from traditional AV and broadcast infrastructures to modern IP-based operations.

“At InfoComm 2026, Cobalt Digital will demonstrate how our expanding IPMX ecosystem gives systems integrators and AV professionals a practical, interoperable, and future-ready path to ST 2110 — proving that high-end IP workflows are no longer difficult to deploy or manage,” Brady added.

Lawo will showcase its Edge One, which it says is the world’s only converged AV I/O system featuring integrated processing and JPEG XS compression, at InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas (June 17-19).

Visitors to Lawo’s booth in North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center (N6463) will see a demonstration of how software-based IP infrastructures address the needs of modern pro AV environments, the company said. They can also explore flexible, reliable and future-ready solutions designed for live events, corporate production, educational organizations, and houses of worship, Lawo said.

Edge One, the compact, converged audio and video stagebox Lawo introduced at NAB Show in April, will be a key highlight. Lawo said Edge One is designed to accelerate and simplify the connection of sources and destinations in Pro AV environments and live venues.

Edge One combines SDI and HDMI video I/O with JPEG XS encoding and decoding, frame synchronization, and a high-performance mc²-grade audio DSP engine in a single device. Audio connectivity spans analog, MADI, and USB-C, while user-swappable interface modules support mic/line I/O and commentary applications. With flexible Audio, Video, or Audio + Video packages and the option to activate additional capabilities using perpetual licenses or Lawo’s Flex subscription model, Edge One offers system designers and operators an unprecedented level of adaptability.

Central to Lawo’s software-based strategy is the HOME platform, which will be showcased extensively at InfoComm 2026. HOME provides unified device discovery, orchestration, monitoring and role-based access control across Lawo and third-party systems. Built for modern IP infrastructures, it enables engineers to manage complex setups with clarity and security. The HOME ecosystem also includes HOME Apps that deliver specialized functionality as scalable microservices running on standard COTS servers.

The HOME mc² DSP app brings the full processing power of Lawo’s A__UHD Core into the software domain. Fully integrated into the HOME platform, it allows operators to instantiate a complete virtual mc² mixing engine wherever audio processing is needed—on demand and without dedicated hardware. Despite its CPU-based architecture, HOME mc² DSP matches the ultralow latency and operational behavior of Lawo’s FPGA-based cores so closely that users are unable to tell the difference between hardware and software processing. Supporting thousands of DSP channels, immersive audio formats, and automatic downmixing, the app is designed for IP-based, cloud, and hybrid production environments, L:awo said.

Another notable solution is Lawo’s HOME Video Monitor app, a monitoring solution engineered for both broadcast and professional AV applications. The browser-based software enables secure monitoring of between one and nine concurrent video streams, with optional audio metering, from virtually any location.

Running natively as an HTML5 application, it can be accessed from desktops, tablets, smartphones, and even AR devices. The app reduces operational complexity while delivering reliable, low-latency monitoring across distributed IP infrastructures.

Integrated transcoding and native WebRTC support ensure efficient resource usage, while HOME-based authentication and encryption meet stringent security requirements.

Lawo will also demonstrate the HOME Power Core app, the virtualized evolution of its respected Power Core platform. Delivered as a HOME App, it provides high-performance DSP processing, mixing, routing, and monitoring on standard servers, with support for open industry standards such as SMPTE ST 2110, AES67, Dante, NDI, and SRT. Partially derived from Lawo’s mc² console DSP algorithms, HOME Power Core delivers uncompromising sound quality for AV and broadcast productions alike, reinforcing Lawo’s commitment to open, interoperable IP ecosystems.

Complementing these software solutions, Lawo will present its mc² hardware portfolio, including the mc²56 Audio Production Console and the mc²36 All-in-One mixing desk. Both systems exemplify Lawo’s approach to combining tactile control with highly scalable IP processing. With advanced user interfaces, deep Waves SuperRack integration, OSC support, real-time analyzer functionality, and seamless interaction with HOME-based applications, mc² consoles provide a powerful bridge between traditional mixing workflows and software-based AV environments.

For additional information, visit Lawo’s website.

BOTHELL, Wash.—The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) will be returning to InfoComm 2026, from June 13-19 in Las Vegas, where it will be providing Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) education for attendees..

During the show, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, AIMS said it will focus on expert-led sessions and the development of its Official IPMX Training Series that will provide the Pro AV industry with the knowledge required to design and deploy IPMX-based AV-over-IP systems.

“As IPMX moves into real-world deployment, education becomes essential to ensuring successful adoption across the Pro AV ecosystem,” said Andrew Starks, AIMS board of directors’ member and director of product management for Macnica. “At InfoComm, we’ll be focused on helping the industry move from understanding the standard to applying it in practice — through education sessions and a new training program that gives engineers, integrators, and end users the tools to design and deploy interoperable AV-over-IP systems with confidence.”

At InfoComm 2026, Starks will present the session “How IPMX Expands Live Production Beyond Broadcast” on Tuesday, June 16, from 1:30-2 p.m. in meeting room W232. During the presentation, he will explore how IPMX enables a new tier of live production, where small and mid-sized organizations can deploy high-quality AV-over-IP workflows with reduced cost and complexity, and still have a seamless path to grow into full broadcast infrastructures when required.

On June 18, Samuel Recine—AIMS board of directors’ member and vice president of global strategic partnerships at Matrox Video—will co-present “IP for Corporate Broadcast AV” from 1:30-3 p.m. in room W231. The session will provide a comprehensive update on deploying high-performance media over IP across PC/IT, AV signaling, and media production systems, with topics including the latest developments in open standards such as SMPTE ST 2110 and IPMX, key strategies for bridging broadcast and corporate AV workflows, and more.

At the show, AIMS will also launch the Official IPMX Training Series, a free online program designed to help the Pro AV community better understand, design, configure, and deploy IPMX-based AV-over-IP systems. Structured as a three-level curriculum covering foundations, systems design, and advanced networking concepts such as PTP and SMPTE ST 2110, the program provides a practical path for engineers and integrators building AV-over-IP infrastructures.

In booth C7487, AIMS will also provide live demonstrations of IPMX-certified products and tools, illustrating how IPMX enables seamless integration across AV systems while supporting both Pro AV and broadcast requirements.

More information about AIMS and its work is available at www.aimsalliance.org.

PARAMUS, N.J.—Sony Electronics will show its new Crystal LED CAPRI display featuring 1,500 candelas per square meter (cd/m2) of maximum brightness with a 2.50-millimeter LED pitch size during InfoComm 2025, June 11-13, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

The new display supports high refresh rates and brightness, a wide color gamut and antireflection, according to Sony. It also offers installation flexibility, a familiar structure, streamlined maintenance and compatibility with the company’s ecosystem of virtual production technologies, the company said.

The new ZRD-VS25FB and ZRD-VS25FM models are compatible with Brompton and Megapixel controllers, respectively, it said.

Targeted at a broad range of users looking for a cost-effective approach to virtual production applications for TV, feature films, commercials, broadcast and rental and staging, the CAPRI LED displays complement Sony’s premium Crystal LED VERONA displays, use the same controllers and offer the same luminance, enabling both lines of displays to be used together within the same LED wall, Sony said.

“With the announcement of CAPRI, Sony is furthering our commitment to the creation of Spatial Content, such as virtual production, by giving a wider range of users opportunities for flexibly showcasing images in high fidelity,” Rich Ventura, vice president of Professional Display Solutions at Sony Electronics, said. “We’ve broadened our lineup to offer more cost-conscious choices, which expand the market in support of high-quality virtual production at every level and ensure the growth of Sony’s distinctive virtual production ecosystem.”

The CAPRI series offers high refresh rates up to 7,680 Hz to reduce scanline artifacts and ensure smooth, fluid motion. With a high brightness of 1,500 cd/m2, complemented by coverage of more than 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, the displays accurately reproduce lifelike images.

Antireflection capabilities mitigate the effect of reflection from lighting equipment, it said.

The series takes advantage of recent installation advancements to ensure fast and efficient setup, Sony said. Offering a 1:1 cabinet optimized for temporary installations such as virtual production stages, the models can quickly and easily be assembled and dismantled using locating pins for simple alignment and a tool-free lever locking mechanism.

To streamline maintenance, the CAPRI enables module blocks to be changed from the rear. A status indicator light makes identifying blocks that need to be serviced.

Sony expects to begin shipping CAPRI sometime in the winter, it said.

See Sony at InfoComm 2025 booth 2001.

More information is available on the company’s website.

BOTHELL, Wash.—The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) will highlight the latest Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) developments and host several of its members for live demonstrations in its booth during InfoComm 2025, June 7-13, in Orlando, Fla.

IPMX is a set of open standards-based protocols designed to ensure interoperability for AV-over-IP systems. Companies demoing IPMX in the AIMS booth include: intoPIX, Cobalt Digital, Matrox Video, Macnica, Nextera Video, Meinberg USA, Megapixel and EvertzAV.

“The progress IPMX has made over the last year is extraordinary — not just in technical development, but in real interoperability across vendors,” said Andrew Starks, AIMS board member and director of product management at Macnica.

“At InfoComm 2025, we’re excited to show the industry that IPMX is no longer a vision for the future. It’s on the cusp of market readiness with tested, deployable technology built on open standards. This is a critical step for Pro AV’s transition to IP, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to show it off at the industry’s biggest event of the year.”

InfoComm follows the IPMX Tested Event 2025, March 24-28, in Burbank, Calif. The multivendor interoperability milestone held at EvertzAV brought together 12 companies to validate system behavior, video and audio compatibility across IPMX profiles.

The event marks a significant step toward finalized specs and widespread industry adoptions, AIMS said.

AIMS is now preparing publicly available self-test procedures and a marketing label system to help manufacturers clearly indicate which IPMX profiles their products support.

In Orlando, AIMS will also contribute to InfoComm’s education program.
LAS VEGAS—JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation, will be highlighting its latest NDI and vMix solutions at InfoComm 2024 (Booth C5715) this week.

This includes the company’s new KY-PZ540 Series Connected Cam PTZ Cameras with 40x zoom and KY-PZ510 Series Connected Cam PTZ Cameras, which each have NDI-enabled options.

The company will also feature its KM-IP12S8 Series Connected Cam vMix Studio Switchers and RM-LP450G Slow-Motion Controller for its vMix Studio Switchers, with live demos of all products being held at the booth throughout the show.

“Industry professionals have adopted NDI-enabled devices at a record pace, and we are thrilled to be part of the network of manufacturers to offer this solution,” says Joseph D’Amico, vice president of JVC Professional Video. “Similarly, vMix has time and again proven to be a leading brand for live streaming productions, and we are grateful for the partnership between our organizations. We look forward to reinforcing the value and advantages that JVC offers to the AV market at InfoComm this year.”

Designed in direct response to customer feedback, the multi-award-winning KY-PZ540 Series PTZ Cameras are the company’s first PTZ cameras to incorporate a 40x focal length. The cameras are ideal for large event spaces and instances when the need to zoom in from a distance is essential. The cameras feature JVC’s 4K imager and renowned Variable Scan Mapping technology, which dynamically scans the 4K sensor to produce a seamless and lossless image transition up to 40x in full-resolution HD. Increasing the zoom magnification while keeping the unit affordable made it possible for JVC to accommodate the needs of a larger segment of customers, the company reported.

Complementing the KY-PZ540 model is the KY-PZ510 PTZ series, which is most recognized for its super-wide horizontal angle of view (80 degrees) and focal length of 21.8 to 261.8 millimeters. The KY-PZ540 and KY-PZ510 PTZ award-recognized cameras include AI-enabled advanced SMART auto-tracking operations. This feature can follow one person or one of multiple people within its field of view and includes its latest advancements in: Standard, Area, Stage, Wide Area and Fine Adjustment modes. These modes provide additional controls and adjustment options allowing for flexible and precise operations. Both series are available in black or white models and host non-NDI and NDI supported IP-based remote operation capabilities, JVC said.

With the NDI-enabled KY-PZ540N and KY-PZ510N, users have the added ability to utilize NDI HX3 for the highest quality video with reduced latency, at a fraction of the bandwidth of full NDI. The NDI HX3 capability also enables integrators to take advantage of the cameras’ award-winning features, such as the KY-PZ510N’s super-wide horizontal angle of view (80 degrees) and focal length of 21.8 to 261.8 millimeters.

Additionally, the incorporated Vertical Interval Time Code (VITC) with Network Time Protocol (NTP) provides the cameras with multi-camera synchronization for seamless live event production. Using the latest HEVC technology, the cameras ensure higher quality video at lower bitrates for remote production over the internet (REMI). The cameras also support H.264 and H.265/HEVC encoding, offering increased compatibility with a variety of hardware and software applications. Furthermore, the 4K60p output, via both HDMI and streaming, delivers ultra-clear, natural imagery in settings with a lot of movement, such as sports and live events.

Comprised of both the KM-IP12S8 and KM-IP12S8PRO, the KM-IP12S8 Series Connected Cam vMix Studio Switchers are complete live video production solutions that provide live mixing, switching, recording and streaming for a variety of multi-camera, fast-paced applications, JVC explained.

The KM-IP12S8 includes the vMix 4K license and supports up to 12 NDI/SRT and eight SDI video inputs, as well as multiple output options, including 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HDMI, DisplayPort and up to four live 3840x2160 60p inputs via 12G-SDI/NDI. Additionally, three 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports are available for NDI, SRT, Dante and RTMPS internet connectivity. The switcher also offers concurrent outputs to three CDNs, Multiview and ISO recording, all in a quiet 4RU case with liquid cooling. The KM-IP12S8PRO has the same hardware specifications, with the addition of the vMix Pro software license, which enables eight-channel instant replay.

The switchers’ front dock has four removable SSD drive trays and USB 3.0 Gen.2 ports for digital audio and control surfaces. This includes JVC’s RM-LP350G vMix Control Surface with PTZ camera joystick and the recently released RM-LP450G vMix Slow-Motion Control Surface, which can increase the speed of a live playback workflow.

Designed for use with vMix Replay, the RM-LP450G offers a modern appearance and simple control layout, along with 38 backlit keys to quickly identify important functions and reduce the chance of errors. Ideal for sports broadcasting, the controller caters to the replay needs of this market. It is equipped with quick-action Playback Search Disks and Control T-bar for speed control of the video playback, for up to eight video inputs, JVC said.

Pliant Technologies has announced that it will be presenting its new SmartBoom LITE Headset at InfoComm 2024 (Booth C5116). The latest updates include enhancements to the headset’s existing list of renowned features for improved flexibility, stability and a more comfortable fit. Among the new features is a new field-replaceable cable and a newly designed swivel earcup.

“Pliant’s SmartBoom LITE has long been a go-to solution for AV professionals in the most demanding production environments,” says Art Gonzales, vice president of product management for Pliant Technologies. “The addition of the newly designed swivel earcup offers more personalized comfort, while its new removable cord provides users with the ability to easily change connection types for various devices such as beltpacks, panels, and integrated camera intercom.”

The new SmartBoom LITE headset also features exceptional audio quality. The innovative headset features an on/off microphone muting feature, which allows the adjustable microphone boom to act as an on/off switch for quick muting. It also incorporates a closed back, supra-aural on-ear design and a single-ear lightweight form factor that provides enhanced acoustic isolation. The ambidextrous, swiveling mic boom is flexible and has a dynamic noise-canceling cardioid microphone optimized for voice communications and outstanding audio quality, the company reported.

Available in a non-reflective rubberized matte black finish, the SmartBoom LITE headset comes with a comfort fit adjustable headband and replaceable ear pad. The LITE headset is available in 4-pin XLR female, 5-pin XLR male, 6-pin mini XLR female (TA6F), and unterminated versions in both Electret (PHS-SB11L2E) and Dynamic (PHS-SB11L2) microphone models, making the line adaptable to any professional intercom system. This new model replaces all existing SmartBoom LITE models and will be available through worldwide distribution to any country with a Pliant dealer/distribution network.

The company noted that the SmartBoom LITE headsets are ideal for professional intercom users working in a range of applications including AV, film and studio use, theaters, houses of worship, broadcast, live sound, education, and more.

More information about Pliant Technologies is available at www.plianttechnologies.com.

TOMBOLO, Italy—Wisycom has begun delivering its MTP61 miniature multiband transmitter, a small, lightweight multiband bodypack with support for tuning between 470 and 1260 MHz, the company said today.

The latest addition to the company’s Symphony product line, the MTP61 is being released with the LBC61 4+4 battery charger. Both products are being shown at InfoComm 2023 in Orlando.

The MPT61 is just over 2 inches tall and just under 2 inches wide. The transmitter weighs 3.1 ounces. It operates with a 3.7 V Lithium-ion battery, offering 10 hours of life, the company said.

“With this shipping announcement, audio professionals now have access to one of the industry’s most powerful transmitters, which is ideal for a range of applications from broadcast and film to live production,” saids John Kowalski, vice president of sales and marketing at Wisycom.

“In addition to the comfortability and compact design of the transmitter, the new LBC61 charger gives users an even wider range of flexibility with file sharing capabilities and expanded charging options,” he said.

The transmitter builds off the company’s intermodulation cancellation circuitry. With its advanced linear technology, the transmitter enables users to deploy units evenly on the spectrum every 200 kHz. The result is a more robust signal, extended range and the ability to operate multiple transmitters close together, the company said.

With high-density, software-selectable narrow-band filters, the digital signal processing allows for easy switching between wideband and narrow-band operation. An integrated low-pass audio filter eliminates ultrasonic interference from devices, such as range finders and motion sensors, it said.

The transmitter also features an embedded recorder with integrated linear timecode decoder that makes it possible to record directly to an embedded industry rated microSD memory card. Simultaneous record and transmit functionality is also available, it said.

The LBC61 4+4 battery charger can charge up to eight LBP61 Lithium-ion batteries simultaneously, with four ports for MTP61 drop-in charging and four ports for standalone LBP61 battery charging. The latest charger has two USB-C 3.2 Gen1 ports and an RJ45 10/100 Base Tx Ethernet port, to download files from the MTP61 micro-SD card or interface with the Wisycom Manager software. The charger also has two 3.5mm connectors for linear timecode sync, the company said.

See Wisycom at InfoComm booth 4245.

More information is available on the company’s website.

ALAMEDA, Calif.—Clear-Com has announced the new HXII-DPL Powerline Device, an IP interface that delivers power and digital audio to HelixNet beltpacks, speaker and remote stations from an Arcadia Central Station System (or the legacy HMS-4X Main Station).

The company is offering live demos of the product at InfoComm 2023.

“Our customers spoke, and we listened,” says Simon Browne, vice president of product management. “This compact powerline device is an eloquent solution to bridge the gap for so many Arcadia users who rely on XLR audio cabling for their intercom. We’re excited to offer this additional solution to our user base.”

In making the announcement the company explained that Arcadia-based systems open a world of digital audio connectivity for HelixNet users, including IP transceivers, third-party devices via Dante, and support for the full range of FreeSpeak Digital Wireless Systems.

The HXII-DPL Powerline Device is designed as a simple “plug-and-play” interface, connecting to any existing Arcadia system or XLR cabling infrastructure via its own network port to provide Powerline connectivity via 3-pin XLR anywhere on the network. Multiple HXII-DPL Powerline Devices can be added to increase HelixNet User Station capacity and allow for greater user density per system, Clear-Com reported.

With support for up to seven HelixNet beltpacks on a single line containing all available HelixNet channels and program audio, the Powerline device can use passively split audio cabling similar to traditional analog partyline systems without any undesirable humming or buzzing of analog communication. Furthermore, the system features visual indicators to resolve any up-and-downstream cabling and overload issues. This unique architectural option, rooted in HelixNet’s history as the first digital partyline system to leverage traditional analog cabling structures, remains a highly useful option for selected applications and further empowers Arcadia users to solve specialized communication problems in their operations, the company said.

Designed with ease of use in mind, the device includes mounting accessories to facilitate easy deployment in various environments: from standalone use as a “throwdown” device in temporary deployments to part of a rack mount or flypack installation or on a cable tray in an electrical cabinet, the silent, fan-free device is well-suited for any installation in a wide variety of market applications.

The HXII-DPL Powerline is scheduled to begin shipping in Fall 2023.

NOVI, Mich.—ENCO has been named exclusive distributor of Qimera in an agreement that adds a suite of real-time compositing tools for virtual production sets and augmented reality graphics to ENCO's range of broadcast and AV solutions.

ENCO will support all sales and marketing operations in North America, effective immediately. The company will consult Qimera on future product development, including features and integrations with ENCO and RUSHWORKS products, ENCO said.

ENCO will demonstrate Qimera’s technology at InfoComm, June 13-15, in Orlando. The company will demo Qimera’s technology, including recording of a green screen. ENCO will process the recordings live and present the output on a display screen. Those visiting the ENCO booth can interact with the technology and manipulate the virtual production elements, the company said.

ENCO will market the technology to broadcasters for in-studio and on-location shoots of news, event and entertainment productions—both live and recorded, it said.

“Qimera offers advanced virtual production technology at a very affordable price point, opening new doors for small-to-mid market TV stations, corporations, universities and visual radio broadcasters that were once priced out of the market,” said Ken Frommert, president of ENCO. “At NAB, we previewed a full Qimera virtual set with a green screen and augmented reality graphics for product demonstrations and live presentations. The response from broadcasters across the spectrum, from PEG stations to national TV and radio networks, was overwhelmingly positive. We foresee strong demand for this technology across our broadcast and AV customer base, and an opportunity to extend the ENCO brand into new areas of live production.”

See ENCO at InfoComm booth 2816.

More information is available on the company’s website.

ORLANDO, Fla.—LG Business Solutions USA has announced that its InfoComm 2023 booth (#1642) will highlight a number of commercial display technologies as well as demos of their use in a dozen distinct product zones.

“Our largest presence ever at InfoComm will present the pinnacle of digital display technology,” David Bacher, head of marketing for LG Business Solutions USA said, “and the multiple large-scale displays facing the show floor give attendees a taste of what they can experience walking through the booth. We are offering a first-hand look at how our digital signage solutions and related technologies elevate the experience in boardrooms, retail stores, restaurants, education, virtual media production studios, control rooms, public art installations and more.”

The 10,400 square foot booth, includes a Virtual Production zone where LG will demonstrate advanced display solutions for broadcasters, production studios and digital content creators with displays that allow for live-action footage to be shot against a realistic virtual backdrop. Attendees can learn how a virtual production studio works and how they are being used to dramatically increase media creation opportunities while reducing the cost of content production for film, TV and in-house corporate needs, LG said.

From outside the booth, visitors will be able to see the Digital Art Zone’s massive 272-inch LG MAGNIT 8K Micro LED display. Showing a variety of 8K footage that captures the beauty of the natural world, integrators will be able to envision how such a show-stopping display could be used in public spaces, corporate or hotel lobbies, LG said.

The rear side of the Digital Art display wall highlights additional opportunities for these spaces with a new 163-inch All-in-One DVLED display and a custom-designed digital sculpture that combines eight 55-inch transparent OLED displays, resembling a giant prism, LG said.

As they enter the booth, visitors will be able to see the MAGNIT 8K Micro LED display synchronize with a Transparent OLED Signage banner comprising 26 55-inch displays. Covering one side of the LG exhibition hall’s entrance, the overhead solution will create an incredibly immersive media art experience while showcasing the technology’s versatility and creative application opportunities.

Another large MAGNIT display, measuring 163-inches diagonal and featuring a remote power supply option, will grace the Control Room Zone. Integrators will see for themselves how the minute pixel pitch, high brightness and color accuracy offered by MicroLED MAGNIT displays provide ultimate clarity and accuracy for critical Control Room operations, LG reported.

The Meeting Room and Board Room Zone is where visitors will encounter the widest variety of displays, centered around the 21:9 All-in-One DVLED displays optimized for widescreen video conferencing platforms. This zone will also show how LG’s One:Quick Works and One:Quick Flex displays offer enhanced operations in office settings.

The versatility of LG’s Transparent OLED solution will be spotlighted in the Retail Zone, where a 30-inch screen serves as the draw and centerpiece of a shoe display and a 55-inch watch kiosk entices shoppers and provides key product information. This zone also includes multiple other transparent OLED displays and a fine-pitch LED display.

The Software Solutions Zone demonstrates a variety of digital signage software solutions, including the LG Cloud Platform, SuperSign Cloud and Pro:Centric Cloud for content management, ConnectedCare for remote management and LG Smart Cam Pro for 4K smart cameras.

Moving into the Education Zone, visitors will be presented with the LG CreateBoard (model TR3DK), which shows how modernized classrooms can engage, inform and inspire students while enabling and encouraging greater collaboration. The latest model provides LG CreateBoard Lab for content creating and writing, and LG CreateBoard Share for wireless content and screen sharing.

The Food and Beverage Zone will demonstrate a variety of digital signage displays, including a 37-inch ultrawide Stretch display that’s ideal for advertising on shelves and pick-up desks, and ultra-bright 22-inch and 55-inch weatherproof models optimized for drive through applications.

LG power-saving and green technologies will be featured in the ESG and EV Charging Zones. In the ESG zone, visitors will learn about LG’s focus on environmental sustainability, exemplified by hundreds of ENERGY STAR certified displays and supported by noteworthy international certifications for electromagnetic emissions, safety, security, accessibility, compatibility, and durability. The EV Charging zone will point to the future, showing how LG’s high-brightness outdoor displays can be incorporated into partner-manufactured EV charging kiosks.

“InfoComm is one of our greatest chances to meet and discuss possibilities with commercial integration professionals eager to offer their clients cutting-edge solutions,” Bacher said. “We want them to know we are investing in innovations that open new avenues of expression, offering new opportunities to win bids and increase business success.”

More information is available at https://www.lg.com/us/business.

AURORA, Ill.—Peerless-AV has begun shipping its new SEAMLES Kitted Series Universal dvLED Mounting System (DS-LEDUNV) and will show the system at InfoComm 2023, June 14-16, in Orlando.

The new mounting system is compatible with most flat-to-wall latching dvLED displays. The kitted solution is flexible, scalable and adjustable when installing flat-to-wall dvLED video walls, the company said.

"dvLED integration has come on leaps and bounds over the past few years, but there is still no standardization of latching mechanisms on OEM cabinets,” said Nick Belcore, executive vice president at Peerless-AV.

“Until now, this has made specifying, stocking, shipping and installing flat-to-wall dvLED video walls expensive, time consuming and challenging. With our new Universal dvLED Mounting System, we are the first to the market with a truly universal solution that resolves these issues, making life easier for all parties involved in a project, and saving valuable time and costs versus dedicated mounts."

The DS-LEDUNV addresses the complexities of achieving a perfectly flat, seamless finish on uneven wall surfaces with its display adaptors and X, Y and Z axis adjustment; unique features on Peerless-AV mount infrastructure, Peerless-AV said.

The solution includes quick-connect clamps that attach along a lightweight aluminum mounting frame for fast, easy latching of dvLED cabinets. An installer-friendly wall template is also included.

The kitted design of the DS-LEDUNV makes the solution reconfigurable in the event project requirements change. For example, if modifications are requested by the customer to the size of a dvLED video wall before the mounting system is installed, easy adaptations can be made without incurring substantial extra costs. To assist installation, drawings of the chosen Universal dvLED Mounting System are included in the box along with instructions to assist the team deploying the solution, it said.

The mounting system currently is available for Absen, Barco, iNFiLED, LG, Philips, Sharp/NEC, SNA Displays, Sony and Unilumin models as well as similarly sized and configured cabinets from other manufacturers.

The system’s open architecture enables easy cable management to keep the installation tidy. The DS-LEDUNV is available in black and silver and an optional Trim Kit Accessory (DS-LEDTK), compatible with most displays, provides a finished aesthetic to the sides and corners of the wall.

See Peerless-AV at InfoComm booth 1329.

More information is available on the company’s website.

AUBURN, Ala.—Pliant Technologies has released CrewCom V1.14 firmware with new enhancements, including support for two additional hardware devices, new features and improved CrewWare control software. It will show the release at InfoComm 2023 in Orlando, June 10-16.

The release brings new support for the IP-rated lineup of radio transceivers (RTs) and the current CrewCom CRP-12 series of radio packs (RPs). Improvements to CrewWare include a unique UI display in the system diagram of CrewWare that automatically detects the new IP-rated RT hardware. It also adds display of when an RT hardware device is being used as well as the corresponding model numbers in the details and device list views, the company said.

“We look forward to providing these important updates and showcasing them for the first time at InfoComm,” says Gary Rosen, vice president of global sales at the company. “As we expand on our CrewCom line, we continually provide hardware support for the newest products. Additionally, the ability to now chose from three unique RPs with an existing CrewCom system adds a greater level of flexibility for existing and new customers.”

For the CRP-12 radio packs, the release adds dual listen/single talk functionality, giving users the ability to listen to two pre-selected conferences simultaneously on a single volume belt pack while also allowing them to talk on either one of those conferences. The company also has modified the software UI to display the new RP support as well as to indicate dual listen/single talk capabilities, it said.

The new Ping function makes it possible to activate the location function from within the software on both RTs and RPs. When activating Ping for the RT, both the top ping light and the mode LED on the bottom of the transceiver will blink to make finding the specific location of a device possible, it said.

For the RP, when activated, Ping causes the backlight of the LCD display (or LEDs in the case of the CRP-12) to blink until deactivated by the operator. To facilitate the location of a specific RP or RT, ping indications remain latched on until the device has been found and the operator manually disables the function, it said.

The CrewWare system’s display of the Radio Transceiver also now has the added ability to see the status of each individual device’s antenna selection. It will now graphically indicate whether it is in Dual (two antennas) or Single (Left or Right) modes, it said.

See Pliant Technologies at InfoComm booth 4854.

More information is available on the company’s website.

NOVI, Mich.—ENCO will feature the ENCO RUSHWORKS PTX Model 3 Pro robotic pan/tilt head used in a variety of production settings, including newsrooms and sports, at InfoComm, June 14-16, in Orlando.

The PTX Model 3 is designed for larger payloads. It provides the torque needed for smooth control of most professional camera and lens combinations, including models from Blackmagic Design, Canon, Panasonic, Lumix, Red, Arri and Sony, ENCO said.

Configuring multiple PTX units on a network simplifies connectivity and control. Camera operators can use any joystick that supports the VISCA over IP protocol to execute commands like pan, tilt, speed, ramp curves, presets and recalls as well as tally. The RUSHWORKS VDESK Integrated Production System or RUSHCONTROL Robotics Control Software also can be used for remote control of positioning and camera functions, it said.

Support for accessories, such as a teleprompter rig, is available. Various wall- and ceiling-mount bracket options are available as well. The PTX Model 3 PRO also offers multiple passthrough connections for cameras and lenses between the base and moving arm, including SDI, HDMI, Cat6, and XLR 4-pin, it said.

The rugged and stable head is constructed of aluminum and steel.
TORRANCE, Calif.—Marshall Electronics has introduced the CV420Ne, an NDI|HX3 version of its ultra-wide, 100-degree-angle-of-view, streaming POV camera and will show the new camera at InfoComm 2023 in Orlando, Fla., June 10-16.

The CV420Ne offers robotic pan, tilt and zoom movement at HD resolutions digitally within the larger 4K UHD sensor space, the company said.

The camera allows users to maintain access to ultra-wide angles along with usable digitally zoomed and lateral maneuvers within the sensor. It uses the new NDI|HX3 codecs with access to NDI5.5 tools, USB 3.0 connectivity with Barco certification and traditional HDMI workflow for a range of AV applications, it said.

The CV420Ne uses a 1/1.8-inch 4K sensor with 9 1/2 megapixels, capable of 4K UHD resolution up to 60fps with support for HD resolutions. The camera’s 4.5mm lens features delivers high-quality video with no spherical distortion. The CV420Ne’s digital pan, tilt and zoom comes with more than 250 presets that are savable and selectable from any number of command sources, including IR remote, NDI|Tools, camera control software, web browser GUI, OBS plugins, vMix and other compatible soft codecs and devices, it said.

With the latest NDI|HX3 codec, the camera can be incorporated seamlessly into various streaming and production workflows. The CV420Ne is suitable for professional proAV and broadcast applications, including AV streaming, remote contribution, podcasting, video collaboration and a range of proAV and UCC installations that require an ultra-high-quality networkable video source, it said.

The NDI|HX3 format requires slightly higher bandwidth than NDI|HX2 but much less than needed for Full-NDI|HB. NDI|HX3 delivers similar low latency as Full-NDI at less than 100ms end-to-end and has video quality performance closer to premium Full-NDI where video quality is not lost from camera source when sent over network, it said.

The new camera is 4.5 inches long and comes with rear protection wings to avoid cable disconnect drops. It has a 3.5mm audio input (line/mic) embedded on all available outputs and can be controlled via included remote control, NDI|Tools and USB. The CV420Ne also comes with a front-facing tally light for live streaming.

More information is available on the company’s website.

See Marshall at InfoComm 2023 booth 4107.

Petaluma, CA – Point Source Audio (PSA), will be displaying their patent-pending CO2 Confidence Collection, a new class of built-in redundant microphones, at this year’s Infocomm trade show being held June 12-14 in Orlando, FL.

The CO2 Confidence Collection all have dual elements, each measuring a tiny 3mm, that offer built-in redundancy and comes in three styles: headset, lavalier, and in Point Source Audio’s patented EMBRACE™ embodiment. The CO2 dual elements maintain two of the company’s signature features: IP 57 waterproof rating (rated against water, sweat and makeup), and the “unbreakable” headset boom bendable up to 360° to bolster durability.

The CO2 Confidence Collection, released in February 2019, has been gaining market acceptance as a convenient mic redundancy solution in their core theatre market as well as house of worship and corporate audio markets. Forty of PSA’s CO2 headsets were recently utilized for double mic’ing at the 2019 American Israeli Policy Conference (AIPAC) held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, in early March.

The CO2 headset microphones were also used at the recent USITT 2019 Stage Expo for the keynote speech and other high profile events. Jeff Polunas, Special Events Sound Coordinator for the USITT Sound Commission, incorporated the CO2 Confidence mics into his audio rigs saying, “I think they are top of the line products and anyone that would be using them would be happy to have them in their production.”

Attendees can see the full line of specialty miniature, body-worn style microphones and the patented EMBRACE™ earmounted lavalier, as well as in-ear audio headsets at the Infocomm booth 5443.
Chelmsford, Mass. – May 16, 2019 – Broadcast Pix™ will emphasize its IP-based solutions next month at InfoComm 2019 (Booth 2091) in Orlando, Fla., by demonstrating its newest integrated production switcher, BPswitch IX, as well as its new Version 7.5 software with expanded IP control capabilities and its new RCC IP camera control panel.

“IP has quickly become a cornerstone of the professional AV marketplace, and Broadcast Pix has introduced the best solutions for IP-based multi-camera productions,” explained Tony Mastantuono, product manager for Broadcast Pix. “BPswitch IX offers the flexibility to control and switch IP, wireless, and legacy SDI sources spread around large venues, while our latest software upgrade lets Broadcast Pix users switch live productions from across the room or across the country on a mobile device. Plus, our new RCC controller provides the flexibility of a separate camera control unit with a very intuitive user interface.”

BPswitch IX is designed for auditoriums, stadiums, conference rooms, and other facilities equipped with remote cameras that are switched from a central control room. It features six network inputs that support NDI and RTSP cameras and other sources, plus two SDI/HDMI inputs (including one analog input for legacy sources). The native 1080p/60 system seamlessly integrates MPEG-2, H.264, and other streaming formats in the same production, and provides SDI, HDMI, analog, and streaming outputs.

Like other BPswitch models, BPswitch IX includes the NewBlueNTX multi-layer 3D motion graphics CG, which includes hundreds of templates to simplify lower-thirds, bugs, animations, rolls, crawls, and effects. Other built-in workflow tools include eight channels of clips and graphics, three keyers with DVEs, program recording, file-based macros, ClearKey™ chromakey and Virtual Studios virtual sets, and customizable BPview™ multi-view.

With the new Version 7.5 software and optional Broadcast Pix Commander™ touchscreen control platform, all BPswitch models can provide browser-based switching on mobile devices. The upgrade allows remote control of servers and robotic cameras, access to all workflow tools, and full-motion viewing of production elements through a standard internet connection. Broadcast Pix’s BPNet™ IP ecosystem delivers the system’s control-over-IP capabilities securely and with low latency.

Version 7.5 also offers enhanced control for routers, cameras, and streaming CDNs – as well as exciting improvements for its BPfusion CG automation software. The software is included with any new BPswitch system, available as a free upgrade for any system under warranty, or available for $995 for systems no longer under warranty.

Ideal for remote productions, RCC can be used as a dedicated camera controller with any BPswitch integrated production switcher, Broadcast Pix Commander touchscreen control platform, or production switcher from another manufacturer. With its software-defined open architecture, RCC can control a variety of PTZ and broadcast cameras, as well as robotic heads, and mix IP protocols within the same production.

RCC’s seven-inch touchscreen provides intuitive menu navigation and allows customized camera presets, shot name, and more. Plus, its three-axis joystick with adjustable zoom speed and one-touch auto focus allows smooth, precise shot control. RCC includes native IP support for Panasonic and Sony PTZ cameras, with optional support for other cameras and robotic heads.

For a video preview of Broadcast Pix’s IP-based solutions at InfoComm, please visit http://bit.ly/2YuJYRo.

About Broadcast Pix
With a tightly coupled switcher and 3D motion graphics CG, Broadcast Pix provides the most fully integrated live video production systems with patented control and automation technology.
Washington, D.C.. — Point Source Audio’s CO2 Confidence headsets played a large primary—and a critical secondary—role for double mic’ing at the 2019 AIPAC Policy Conference held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC. Over 18,000 people attended the three-day conference and included members of Congress, students, and synagogue delegations. The guest speaker roster was massive (the AIPAC website lists over 400) and the audio needs were equally large with 120 channels of wireless mics being used. And, as typical, the expectations for fail safe reliability and sonic excellence with microphones were high.

AIPAC live interviews got “backup” from 40 redundancy headsets

To that end, audio supplier, Maryland Sound Industries (MSI) provided their client, Viva Creative, 40 of Point Source Audio’s CO2 Confidence headset mics for use with the Shure and Sennheiser RF systems that were utilized for the event. Given the amount of RF which, in addition to microphones, included IEMs, broadcast and security channels, the chance of being “stepped” on was very real and made frequency coordination and backup or redundancy options vital.

Robert Jones is the account manager for MSI and first tried the PSA mics at a demo and was impressed both with the sonic capability and the fact that he now had two identical microphones in one package. “In the past we’ve used two transmitters with a headset and with a lavalier mic as backup. If we lost a particular frequency, which can happen in an event this large, and needed to switch transmitters during the speech, the sound difference between the lav and headset is audible. With the Point Source Audio mics, the sound never changes and, on those occasions, where we do need to switch to the backup transmitter, the audience doesn’t notice. There is a sonic consistency we like.”

Jones also noted the increased speed and ease of mic’ing the talent with the PSA mics saying, “Once this thing gets rolling, it’s a constant process of removing the mic as the speaker leaves the stage, putting one on for the new speaker, and on and on. Anything that helps our techs with that process is much appreciated.”

Yvonne Ho, VP of sales & marketing at Point Source Audio, appreciates and understands the challenges of large-scale productions such as AIPAC and commented, “Beyond the audio quality aspect, our goal is to assist our customers in solving problems. If the tech crew can double mic speakers in half the time and ensure the live mic is fail-safe, then we are making real progress.”

The patent-pending CO2 Confidence Collection, a new class of wireless microphones, all have dual elements, each measuring a tiny 3mm that offers built-in redundancy. The CO2 mics also integrate two of the company’s important first-to-market features in miniature microphones: IP 57 waterproof rating, and the “unbreakable” headset boom bendable to 360° to bolster durability.

Point Source Audio will be showcasing the CO2 Confidence microphones for audio professionals at the upcoming InfoComm in Orlando, June 12 – 14, booth 5443.
FAIRFAX, VA.—Say hello to AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA), formerly known as InfoComm International. The evolution of AVIXA has been a long time coming, according to Dave Labuskes, CTS, CAE, RCDD, executive director and CEO of InfoComm, and now AVIXA.

Dave Labuskes discussing the evolution of AVIXA.

“AV defines who we have been, who we are, and who we want to be,” Labuskes said. “We are devoted to driving market growth, developing industry standards, delivering training, and we are giving our industry a sense of identity and belonging.”

AVIXA’s mission is to be an industry hub, while also acting as a catalyst for market growth beyond what has been considered traditionally as professional AV. In recent years, the association’s members have evolved to offer much more than audiovisual products and systems; their innovation and attention to customer requirements has led to an industry of solution providers that use technology to create exceptional outcomes.

WHAT'S IN A NAME?

Labuskes was originally presented with the idea for a name change in April 2016; after initially refuting the idea and later contemplating it, he brought his thought process to the InfoComm staff. The team knew a name change could be a marketing nightmare, but, after exploring many options with a variety of branding experts, keeping the InfoComm name was like “putting lipstick on a pig.” The AVIXA name reflects the new world of AV technology and that the association has a new meaning and a new purpose.

InfoComm’s leadership is, unsurprisingly, enthusiastic about this change. “If the old InfoComm did not transform into AVIXA, we would be leaving our channel behind,” said Joe Pham, Ph.D., president and CEO of QSC and secretary/treasurer of AVIXA’s board of directors. “This is a very exciting change, and one that will bring our members along.”

WHAT ABOUT THE INTEGRATORS?

Julian Phillips, executive vice president at Whitlock and president-elect of AVIXA’s board added, “An empowered, informed, and engaged end-user member will spend a lot more than an uninformed customer. Integrators should be encouraged by the fact that they can bring their customers into AVIXA and they can grow their business like never before.”

AVIXA’s trade shows worldwide, including the North American show, June 2-8 in Las Vegas, NV., will continue to operate under the InfoComm name.

This story first appeared on TVT's sister publication AV Network.

The awards are based on the ability to see and test the product on the show floor, and talk with product managers and team members that developed the product. AV Technology's judges are anonymous during the show—made up entirely of industry-experts, AV designers, integrators, and AV/IT technology managers. The decision matrix for entries included: perceived value; ROI; total cost of ownership; richness of the feature set; ease-of-use; reliability; versatility; and overall network impact (if any). The Best of Show Awards spotlight products that genuinely solve problems, offer value, and consider the operator/manager’s PoV. The winners below stood out from the thousands of new products at InfoComm 15.
