Infinity Link is the latest addition to the Telos Infinity™ IP Intercom platform, the communications solution that does away with outdated and cumbersome matrix-based technology and puts communication and contribution audio together on an IP backbone. Infinity Link maintains the matrix-free advantage of Telos Infinity but adds the ability to extend connectivity beyond the boundaries of AoIP using VoIP.

“VoIP technology in a broadcast Intercom system isn't new, but the way that Infinity Link encompasses VoIP as part of an entirely matrix-free AoIP solution is unique,” states Martin Dyster, Telos Infinity Project Director. “With a simple license key, each Telos Infinity device, whether a Beltpack, a Master Panel, or Expansion Panel, can host a group of Infinity Link codecs. This enables any IP audio path within its own network to connect across WAN to a Link-equipped codec at any remote location, bridging the local system to the outside world via its own embedded processing engine.”

Telos Infinity Link is an OPUS codec-based software product available as a series of software licenses that can be added to any host Infinity Panel or Beltpack hardware, unlocking two (Beltpack only), four, or eight embedded codecs that convert WAN-side VoIP to LAN-side Livewire+ AES67™. A dedicated 1RU hardware Gateway device is also available, supplied with dual AC power and dual gigabit Ethernet connections, supporting either 8 or 16 embedded codecs.

The OPUS codec is a totally open, royalty-free, highly versatile audio codec. This codec—with manually and auto-adjustable bitrates optimized for use in voice communications—is unmatched for interactive speech and music transmission over the Internet, but is also intended for storage and streaming applications.

Each codec send/receive pair can be connected to an associated pair at a remote location. The resultant Livewire+ AES67 Sources and Destinations appear within the Infinity Dashboard Input/Output lists in the same form as any other connected AES67 stream and can be used for point-to-point communication within an IFB, a Group, or a Partyline.

Infinity Link is a competitive and flexible solution that allows the user to turn a standard Infinity Panel or Beltpack into a VoIP utility without compromising its use as a communications device.

Contact Krissy Rushing, Marketing Manager, for booth appointments, interviews, or other media requirements at krissy.rushing@telosalliance.com.

About The Telos Alliance
The Telos Alliance is a global leader in audio, trusted by the biggest names in the media landscape.
WESTFORD, MASS.—In an effort to assist broadcasters with the pending transition to ATSC 3.0, Artel Video Systems and Qligent have announced a new integration partnership.

InfinityLink

With all the potential factors involved in the repacking assignments, implementing ATSC 3.0 and transitioning to all-IP networks, pro-active real-time monitoring and analysis of the media service delivery chain is needed. To provide assistance on that front, Qligent has integrated Artel’s DigiLink and InfinityLink platforms into its Qligent Vision software-based monitoring and analysis system. This reportedly provides a broader view of end-to-end signal paths and deploys Artel’s technology across multiple sites and points throughout IP and fiber-based networks. Operators will now be able to validate interoperability and test configurations.

“An IP-based studio to transmitter link has become a critical component within ATSC 3.0 and Artel has an excellent reputation for reliability,” said Ted Korte, chief operating officer, Qligent. “Now we can keep a close watch on the signal as it passes through the entire chain with a single view but from multiple perspectives. Not only will system interoperability problems be easier to see and resolve but will also be easier to test a wide variety of configurations with immediate feedback on stimulus and response for quick proofs-of-concept and optimizations.”

Both companies will display their products at the upcoming NAB Show; Qligent will be in booth N6520, while Artel will be in booth N4511.

One of the models on display will be the IL6000, a 1RU, four-slot chassis with internal 20x20 3G routing and Ethernet switching capabilities and features on-board chassis management.

InfinityLink models ILC450 and ILC410 will also be shown, adding seamless IP capabilities to the InfinityLink platform. The ILC450 supports auto-sensing of standards-based, broadcast quality HD/SD-SDI and ASI video formats, while also featuring SMPTE 2022-1/2/5/6 IP encapsulation and optional Forward Error Correction algorithms to enable flexible configurations. The ILC450 also has a 1GigE IP interface for end users to bridge IP data for greater bandwidth utilization of the 10G Ethernet interface. The ILC410, meanwhile, enables DVB-ASI and SD-SDI video to be transported over IP networks.

Also set to be shown during the conference is Artel’s DLC510 L-band satellite demodulator and automatic L-band satellite scanner. Operators using the scanner can locate active signals on a satellite and display signals in an easy-to-read list with other essential data. Additional features include dual RF inputs, DVB-S2X support, ETSI Carrier ID transmission coding and full integration into the InfinityLink and DigiLink media transport platforms.

A technology showcase for the 3500 series of FiberLink 4K/UHD systems is also set.

Artel is located at booth 105.
