LAS VEGAS—The 2019 NAB Show will be a chance for IMT Vislink to put a spotlight on several of its latest broadcast products, particularly those that focus on transmission. Among those the company has announced it will share are the HCAM 4K Wireless Video Transmitter, Vislink MDR series and the Advent satellite communications line.

The HCAM 4K is now capable of handling HD applications via its HEVC capability courtesy of a recent update. This provides improved reception and robustness and doubles the transmission range. There are also 4K transmission capabilities for things like sports, broadcasting and event coverage. Additional features include flexible, configurable mounting options and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth controls, which are compatible with iOS and Android apps.

New features for the Vislink MDR series incorporates the HCAM 4K transmitter to provide an ultra-compact and lightweight onboard transmission system. The systems can be used to capture live video at high speeds.

As part of its Advent satellite communications line, IMT Vislink will feature the Advent AirPro 75Ka, a single-button deployment IP satellite data terminal for use with Eutelsat’s Tooway service; the AirPro 75Ka also works alongside an updated Advent DVE6100 encoder and IRD6200 decoder. There is also the Advent NewSwift HD 240, a Eutelsat, Intelsat and Arabsat compliant roof mounted drive away antenna, and the Advent MSAT, a tri-band satellite terminal that can be set-up anywhere for secure and non-secure data and video transmission.

SARASOTA, FL.—xG Technology—the provider of IMT Vislink live video communications products for the broadcast, law enforcement and defense—has announced a partnership with mobile broadcast vehicle provider Frontline Communications to deploy a customized newsnet electronic news gathering (ENG) vehicle for conducting on-site demos at broadcast client sites.

Vislink’s newsnet establishes a high-speed, bidirectional IP-based network that can optimize ENG field workflows and transmission by leveraging secure BAS spectrum that can be used without fear of contention, congestion or blocking, according to the company. Lower OPEX costs can result from greater workflow efficiencies and the reduced need for bonded cellular transmission.

The newsnet mobile demo site will be comprised of the mobile assets, a base station site (mobile COW), and the newsnet studio control system to provide the interface and control between the remote demo vehicle and the studio/field workflows.

SARASOTA, FLA.—IMT-Vislink, which is owned by xG Technology, is kicking 2018 off with the launch of its 4K UHD wireless camera system, HCAM.

The HCAM is designed to be used for sporting events and is expected to be used at the 2018 Winter Olympics and Commonwealth Games, according to the company’s press release. The first HCAM system was delivered to Broadcast RF.

With a user interface accessible to many skill levels, newsnet allows for multiple access points to operate simultaneously on the same BAS channel, all while enabling a high bandwidth IP connection with the newsroom computer system (NRCS). This IP connection can be leveraged to enhance news production values through high-speed file sharing, as well as enabling all other IP-centric tools in remote locations, phone systems, closed captioning, automation and remote asset management. newsnet is compatible with MOS protocol-based news automation systems such as Ross, Octopus, Dalet and Video Inception.
