INDIANAPOLIS—Imagine Products has released TrueCheck, the software company’s video asset back-up, viewing, sharing, transcoding and archive solution.

TrueCheck, which includes a unique comparison feature, enable users who handle a large number of files to mirror images, verify data integrity and generate reports.

Five core functions—compare, generate, search, view and verify—comprise TrueCheck.

TrueCheck’s Compare is purpose-built for use in the M&E industry. It evaluates video, audio and related files. Users can compare files and folders for sameness and differences and locate a file inside a folder or volume.

The Generate function provides users with various options for generating reports, generating a PDF, with thumbnails and metadata of attached media, volume, folder or files dropped into the queue.

The Search function enables deep search using industry-specific parameters. View allows users to create checksums for any file or folder while Verify makes it possible to verify the integrity of thumbnails.

The product is useful in organizing files in group settings where multiple people work on a project at the same time, the company said. In circumstances in which multiple copies of files are in use, TrueCheck show if files exactly mirror each other or what the differences are.

A perpetual license for TrueCheck is priced at $149. Rentals of $50 for 45 days and $25 for 15 days are also available.

LAS VEGAS—At the 2019 NAB Show, Imagine Products will showcase a new look and features for its ShotPut Pro platform for offloading video, audio, and photo files. Two of the features include a new simple mode for faster offloading and MHL reports.

Imagine Products is also working with partners Codex and Frame.io to offer a more complete workflow to users. The product also comes with new licensing options: perpetual or rental. All perpetual licenses include an update plan that gives users 12 months of updates. While update plans might expire, users will always have access to their licenses and will never be forced to have an update plan. If the update plan expires, users will stay on that version of the software until they decide to purchase a current update plan.

Imagine Products' new rental licenses allow customers to add workstations to a larger job, provide tools for projects they might not normally need, and familiarize themselves with a product that they might be curious about. These rental licenses are available for most Imagine Products' software and customers can bundle the software that works well together for a cohesive experience.

Meanwhile, Imagine Products has redesigned its website and activation functions to be both easier to use and more agile, giving customers more control over their licenses.

INDIANAPOLIS—Imagine Products has expanded its ShotPut Pro 6 offerings, now making the offloading application available for Windows users. The company released a Mac version last August, but the new ShotPut Pro 6 for Windows features a new user interface, faster media offloading and additional features designed to provide more control over their offloads.

The updated software now offers desktop notifications in addition to email and text notifications, the ability to pause and resume offloads even when hard drives have been detached for multiple hours and the capability to cancel all or some offloads.

New reporting features include the addition of detailed PDF reports with four thumbnails from more than 20 different camera formats, robust naming conventions and the ability to create and nest multiple folders within that naming structure. The process of offloading multiple files to multiple locations and bundling offloads from different locations to one destination. The offload sequence feature offers cascading offloading with a choice between having offloads working at once or one at a time.

The new interface for the ShotPut Pro 6 includes presets that are color-coded and can be exported and shared with other ShotPut Pro users. There is an at-a-glance progress window for checking offload status.

The system also uses Imagine Products’ new account-based activation system.

ShotPut Pro 6 is now available for Windows 10, 8 and 7. A new license is available for $129; existing ShotPut Pro 5 users can upgrade for $49.

LAS VEGAS—Imagine Products will unveil Pre-Roll Post, an application that makes LTO tape archiving easier and more cost-effective at the 2016 NAB show. Pre-Roll Post automates the indexing of camera originals—including thumbs, proxies, and metadata—while backing up full-resolution media to local disk, LTO tapes or optical disc.

This cross-platform solution takes advantage of the open source Linear Tape File System format, which mounts a tape as a volume (hard disk) within OS X, making it possible to write and read from tape as if it were a disk, without proprietary software or formatting.

It enables users to create non-proprietary backups of any file or folder using LTFS, and streamlines the process of placing any file type onto an LTO-7, LTO-6, or LTO-5 tape, or onto Sony's Optical Disc Archive . As a hardware-independent system, Pre-Roll Post can be used with any LTFS-compliant tape drive or Sony ODA.
