NEW YORK—Fox News Media has announced that it has inked deals that will expand the distribution of its subscription-based streaming service Fox Nation to Dish TV and Sling TV. 

Beginning mid-March, Dish customers will be able to add Fox Nation for $5.99 per month. Once subscribed, customers can access Fox Nation via channel 296 in the guide, the On Demand menu or the Dish Anywhere app.

Fox Nation, which offers over 10,000 hours of programming, will also be available to stream on Sling for $5.99 per month to all of its users on Sling TV and on Sling Freestream, beginning in mid-March.

In making the announcement, Fox News Media President Lauren Petterson said, “We’re thrilled to partner with Dish and Sling to make our on-demand content more readily available to viewers who crave Fox Nation.”

“We’re delighted to partner with FuboTV to offer Fox Nation as part of their growing content offering and bring our loyal audience more ways to access the wide variety of signature content that they crave,” said Fox Nation president Jason Klarman.

FuboTV subscribers now have the option to add Fox Nation, which features nearly 5,000 hours of original content, to their subscription for $5.99 a month. 

Subscribers to Fox Nation on FuboTV can also access the service via the FuboTV app on connected TV, mobile and tablet devices as well as on the web at https://fubo.tv.

Launched in 2018, Fox Nation is available at foxnation.com and via app for iOS devices, Android devices, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, Android TV, Roku, Xbox One, Vizio TVs, and Samsung TVs as well as DirecTV, YouTube TV, Comcast Xfinity, Cox Contour and The Roku Channel.

NEW YORK & EL SEGUNDO, Calif.—Fox News Media has announced that it is expanding distribution of its streaming services across DirecTV platforms. 

As part of the agreement, Fox Nation has already been added to DirecTV as a premium add-on for $5.99 a month and will be added to DirecTV Stream this summer. 

In addition, Fox Weather, the free ad-supported streaming television weather service, will launch DirecTV Stream on March 29th.

“We want to empower our customers with more capabilities in how they choose to watch the content they care about most,” said Rob Thun, chief content officer DirecTV. “We’re pleased to expand our relationship with Fox News and add value for our subscribers by offering Fox Nation and Fox Weather.”

NEW YORK—Fox News Channel is the latest cable network to test the subscription video-on-demand waters this year with its new Fox Nation streaming service set to launch later this year, according to network officials.

The stand-alone streaming service will debut in fourth-quarter 2018 and will take an in-depth look at the issues of the day, with exclusive daily streaming content and long-form programming only available to subscribers. The cost of the service will be announced at a later date.

Fox News Channel, which has topped the cable ratings charts for the past two years among total viewers, will also include access to 20-plus years of its archival programming not available anywhere else—as well as interaction with all of the network’s opinion hosts and personalities—as part of its new SVOD service, according to network officials.

Fox Nation will be based at Fox News's headquarters in New York, according to the network.

“With our traditional cable viewership at an all-time high, we are proud to announce a new digital offering geared entirely toward the FOX News superfans, who represent the most loyal audience in cable, if not all of television,” said John Finley, senior vice president of development and production for the network in a statement. “This initiative will capitalize on providing that viewer, who is among the most affluent and well educated in cable, with a highly specialized content experience on a platform they can watch anytime, anywhere.”

Fox Nation is the first announced cable news OTT service, and joins other standalone OTT services from such media companies as ESPN, Disney and CBS set to launch this year.
