DENVER—Evolution Digital has announced a preferred development partnership with TiVo to provide service providers with a fast path to a premium video offering to their subscribers – fully managed by TiVo.

As part of the agreement, Evolution Digital’s EVO FORCE 1 Set Top-Box and FUSE 4K stick will be the exclusive devices for TiVo’s Managed IPTV Service to North and South America service providers.

The EVO FORCE 1 and FUSE 4K video over broadband devices enable service providers’ managed IPTV service offerings with a premium linear video experience, while expanding the options available to support service providers’ broadband-only base. Customers will have access to a competitively priced device platform to enhance subscribers’ viewing experience in terms of quality and affordability, while benefiting from TiVo’s highly engaging, visually rich interface designed to drive customer satisfaction and reduce churn, the companies explained.

LENEXA, Kan. & CENTENNIAL, Colo.—Evolution Digital and the National Cable Television Cooperative, Inc., (NCTC) have inked a new multi-year agreement that will continue to make Evolution Digital’s robust suite of broadband and Android TV products available to more than 700 independent service providers across the U.S.

As part of the deal, NCTC’s member operators may access Evolution Digital’s leading OpenSync certified devices, enabling Plume’s award-winning SaaS Experience Platform. The deal also provides the option for NCTC members to offer to end-user customers Evolution Digital’s line of Android TV hardware including eSTREAM 4K, EVO FORCE 1 and EVO PRO.

LAS VEGAS—Evolution Digital and Conax announced seven additional deployments of Evolution’s eVUE-TV IP VOD solution with pre-integrated Conax multi-DRM.

The seven operators deploying eVUETV on the National Cable Television Cooperative’s VU-IT! platform include Docomo Pacific, Antietam Communications, Frankfort Plant Board, Orbitel Communications, Easton Utilities, MTC Cable and Wyandotte Cable TV. eVUE-TV enables these operators to deliver IP VOD programming and is used as a back-office solution for integration with OTT apps and the TiVo user interface and functionalities.

At the Conax booth, the company is showing its collaboration with Evolution on eVUE-TV. Through eVUE-TV, operators can add IP VOD, IP linear and network DVR content, as well as grow IP video services.

Rohit Mehra, SVP Americas for Conax, said the company offers support for Google Widevine, Microsoft PlayReady and Apple FairPlay Streaming, along with a next-generation Conax Connected Access IPTV security client that combines CA/IPTV/DRM functionality in one.

By supporting multiple DRMs, Conax’ solution helps cable operators delivering IPTV services via eVUE-TV to reach viewers on any connected device type, Mehra said.

“Using the complete, pre-integrated and high-security solution, operators can easily migrate to IP at a price point that makes sense,” said Evolution Digital President/CTO Brent Smith.
