LAS VEGAS—Elemental Technologies, the leader in software-defined video solutions, today announced the next 4K 4Charity Fun Run, which takes place Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in Las Vegas in conjunction with the 2017 NAB Show. Beginning with the 2017 NAB Show event, the 4K 4Charity Fun Run series will distribute all proceeds toward raising awareness and funding for organizations that work in support of increased diversity and inclusion.

Since launching in 2014, the 4K 4Charity Fun Run Series has attracted nearly 4,000 participants and raised close to $400,000 for non-profit organizations. Officially endorsed by NAB Show, the April, 2017 event will raise proceeds for Mercy Corps, which works with the most vulnerable women and adolescents in crises, providing safe places, education opportunities, job skills training and community engagement projects to help them build a strong tomorrow, and will also contribute to Women Who Code, a global non-profit dedicated to inspiring women to pursue and excel in technology careers and to helping them become leaders and role models in the tech industry.

CAMPBELL, CALIF.—Elemental Technologies, a supplier of software-defined video systems for multiscreen content delivery, recently installed Video Clarity’s ClearView Shuttle 4K and RTM real-time audio and video monitoring system. Used in Elemental’s product development lab, the systems automatically measure the quality and performance of Elemental’s systems for multiple types of TV content and delivery profiles.

The ClearView Shuttle 4K is a video quality analyzer that records and plays back at native 4K resolutions, as well as HD and SD formats. When combined with the RTM system, users can apply objective measurements to compare multiple content types with multiple downstream processing conditions. This allows users to implement and quantify objective measurement that correlate to user experience. In addition, the systems can be configured to create automate measurements in batches.

Elemental is using the ClearView system to generate MOS and JND metrics for test clips and to verify results against customer’s content.

PORTLAND, ORE. & LONDON – Looking to get its over-the-top TV and mobile services off the ground, Sky, a U.K. pay TV provider, has gone with Elemental Technologies to process and deliver Now TV and Sky Go.

Now TV is Sky’s OTT TV service; Sky Go is its mobile service. The Sky OTT service infrastructure now uses Elemental Live as the video processing engine in a workflow controlled by Elemental Conductor. Sky channel IP inputs will be fed to Elemental Live software during live streaming, which will encode original and aggregated linear content in real time for delivery to mobile devices and the web. The Sky VOD workflow uses Elemental Server systems to transcode content into multiple formats and encrypt it for high-quality, protected output to consumer devices over the Sky Content Delivery Network.
