For groups that cover a wide geographic area, the GTP-32 can be configured by region or other relevant criteria; in addition, local affiliates can respond with an opt-out signal, for example, to stay with their own on-scene coverage,” said Dan Fogel, the company’s chief technical officer.

DNF’s Universal Switch Panel is frequently paired as the user interface to make choosing the correct situational configuration easier. Fogel noted that the GTP and USP used together are menu-driven through a browser and require no particular programming skills.

DNF’s GTP-32 Control Processor is flexible and configurable. It can manage and monitor equipment in the same room, on another floor, in another building, across town, or across the globe. The processor is said to simplify, scale, integrate and apply conditional operator control and monitoring over a wide range of broadcast and production equipment with protocol options including GPI/O, Serial, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, HTTP, and SCTE.

LAS VEGAS—DNF Controls will come to the 2017 NAB Show with a wide range of controllers designed to help broadcasters simplify, virtualize and migrate to full IP control. These hardware/software solutions can drive traditional video devices ranging from production switchers, multiviewers, graphics, KVM routers, servers and tally systems, while tackling the challenges of virtualization, IP infrastructure and the cloud.

GTP-30

One product enabling full IP control is the DNF GTP-30, a modular, scalable unit that offers the workhorse power of the company’s GTP-32, without the physical I/O. The company will also show a software-only edition of the GTP-30 with full IP control over video/KVM routers, production switchers, multiviewers, servers DDRs, graphic devices tally systems and more.

DNF’s GTP-32 control processor has been enhanced with options to simplify linking control rooms to studios or remote sites for control of on-air camera tallies and profanity delay systems, along with a virtual mode providing full functioned emulation of a SAM or Evertz router.

The company will also showcase the ST600-KIPRO Ethernet-based tactile control panel for AJA’s Ki Pro DDRs, which supports up to four units with full transport control to record, play, stop, rewind, fast-forward and jog, among other operational capabilities. They will also display the SPYDER Shotbox, now with support function keys, and the DPI signal monitoring system with a new live mode for use when an automation playlist doesn’t have to be monitored.

The 2017 NAB Show takes place in Las Vegas, April 24-27. NBC has used it for the Olympics, and CBS has also utilized it for PGA and tennis events. The company’s most recent client, however, was the Pac-12 Network.

The GTP-32 assists Pac-12 Network with remote production by transporting camera tallies over an IP network between multiple game venues and its central facility in San Francisco. The network uses the systems as a component of its production fly-packs. These units communicate with a local GTP-32 at the main facility to route on-air tallies, which on game day link control room tallies with a venue. These units can be re-configured to move from one event to another.

The processor works with a selection of protocol options, including GPI/O, Serial, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, HTTP and SCTE.
