More than 1,000 journalists and editors are able to work with the Dalet Galaxy system. They work collaboratively and share their content across all NextRadioTV brands. This gives us tremendous flexibility with regards to feeding channels and distribution outlets, including our new BFM Lyon channel.”

NextRadioTV’s digital transformation with Dalet has enabled the group to launch new initiatives like the ultra-targeted regional station BFM Lyon quickly, while keeping in line with the brand’s content strategy across multiple locations. With a reputation for always being the first to broadcast breaking news, the Dalet tools help NextRadioTV verify, editorialize and broadcast content before any other media outlet.

“Launching BFM Lyon, the second regional channel after BFM Paris under Altice France, marks a major step in our network expansion strategy. Thanks to the advanced collaboration framework and powerful connectivity, Dalet Galaxy has helped broaden our reach while accelerating a digital transformation that allows us to continue to scale with ease,” adds Antoine Robelin.

A single Dalet Galaxy MAM, orchestration and editorial platform powers NextRadioTV’s massive multi-channel, multi-format and multi-output programming, from news and sports to long-form and radio programs, allowing individual teams to manage collaboratively everything from content ingest, editing, graphics and playout, to multi-platform distribution and archives.

Johann Zemmour, General Manager EMEA-APAC, Dalet comments, “The agility of Dalet Galaxy is very important for NextRadioTV’s product-oriented production approach, in which they use a studio to produce a show and decide later where and when that program content will appear on TV, radio and digital. Dalet Galaxy allows them to use their resources independently of their channels, enabling NextRadioTV to leverage a wide range of content for new channels as well as manage distribution across their many platforms in an incredibly efficient manner.”

Dalet systems have supported BFMTV programming throughout their entire history, from a small newsroom of 50 people to what is today several hundreds of simultaneous users and advanced workflows covering all production and playout operations.
Singapore – May 29, 2019 – Dalet, a leading provider of solutions and services for media organizations and content professionals, today announced that Times Network, India’s leading broadcast network, has deployed the Dalet Galaxy media asset management and workflow orchestration platform to optimize content utilization and accelerate delivery for its 24/7 news channel “Times NOW”. With a global presence across 100 countries, Times Network houses upscale brands including TIMES NOW, ET NOW, Mirror NOW, Movies NOW & Movies NOW HD, MN+, Romedy NOW & Romedy NOW HD, MNX & MNX HD and Zoom, each of which informs, entertains and engages viewers.

“Times Network is the leading broadcast network in India,” states K Yegneshwara Iyer, Senior Vice President & Head of Technology, Times Network. “To sustain this momentum and always be the first to break news, we moved to adopt a platform that could digitalize the archives as well as integrate our media silos, ultimately managing the entire media supply chain for the Times Network. Dalet was the best partner for this mission. Their platform allows us to bring all our content into one place and create seamless access for our users, with tools and intelligence to manage multiple workflows across several locations and business units.”

By connecting siloed production and post-production teams and systems across Mumbai and Delhi, Dalet Galaxy enables a comprehensive workflow transformation that gives “Times NOW” a first-to-air breaking news workflow that encompasses the complete story. Key to the transformation was the digitization and integration of Times Network archives. No longer do staff need to manually review archive logs, request media from the archivist, and wait for the content to complete the story. Dalet Webspace provides immediate access to all content with tools to assemble stories that contain a mix of freshly shot and archival media.

With archives fully integrated and digitized, the “Times NOW” archivists are freed from manual search and retrieval of taped media. They can focus their time on enriching the digital content with metadata, making it more searchable and accessible across the entire group. This creates a fluid content supply chain that optimizes content usage, ultimately helping Times NOW journalist enhance their storytelling.

“More than creating a friction-free workflow for breaking news, Dalet Galaxy is enabling Times Network to move away from a pay-per-month archive digitization process to a fully owned and managed digital workflow that optimizes content utilization. This is a business benefit that enables them to be more systemic in the way they manage and distribute their content across the entire business operation,” states Johann Zemmour, General Manager, Dalet APAC and EMEA.

For more information, please <a href="See Dalet at BroadcastAsia 2019 BroadcastAsia 2019 attendees can book a meeting to see Dalet solutions in action on stand 4T4-01.
Las Vegas, NV – April 8, 2019 – Dalet, a leading provider of solutions and services for media organizations and content professionals, announced at NAB 2019 (booth SL6610) the release of Dalet Xtend for Adobe® Audition®, connecting professional audio production to the main content value chain. Adobe Audition offers a comprehensive professional toolset for mixing and editing audio for video, broadcast, and podcast content. The Dalet Xtend panel for Adobe Audition brings support for session management, including the ability to search and browse the categories of the Dalet Galaxy five content catalog. Users can import both audio and video titles with locators as markers into the Adobe Audition timeline, as well as clips, storyboards, and EDLs. Adobe Audition editors can also save sessions as Dalet Xtend titles directly back to the Dalet Galaxy five content catalog and archive without leaving the application.

“Dalet Xtend for Adobe Audition empowers creatives with wider and deeper access to metadata-rich assets, minimizing the technical complexity of tracking, converting, migrating or even simply locating media across the enterprise thanks to Dalet Galaxy five,” comments Golan Tsarfaty, editing product line manager, Dalet. “With the underlying Dalet Galaxy five platform managing the nuances of the media lifecycle, Adobe Audition audio editors are free to focus on the art of editing, mixing and finishing their packages using the very best audio assets available.”

“The Adobe-Dalet collaboration continues to bring expanded capabilities for our customers. Dalet’s new integration for Adobe Audition is a great addition to their panel for Adobe Premiere® Pro,” states Sue Skidmore, head of partner relations for Adobe video. “Our customers accessing Dalet’s Audition panel will create new efficiencies in their production workflows, enabling them to focus on their creative output.”

Dalet Xtend for Adobe Audition governs access to Dalet Galaxy five content hubs and archives, enabling cross operation collaboration with a comprehensive level of metadata tracking and management that ensures asset genealogy stays intact. Tsarfaty explains the user benefits, “Up until now, audio editors would have had to export a limited audio file to a shared folder on the storage platform and then import it into Adobe Audition and vice versa after they were done working with it. Important details such as metadata were lost in the transaction.
Dubai – March 11, 2019 – Dalet, a leading provider of solutions and services for media organizations and content professionals, today announced that the Al Rayyan TV Channel has centralized all of its media operations on the Dalet Galaxy five media platform. A subsidiary of the Al Rayyan Media and Marketing Company, Al Rayyan TV is known for its Qatari cultural programming, offering a range of in-house and locally produced entertainment, magazines and news-oriented shows. The enterprise-wide revamp of the technical infrastructure is part of the broadcaster’s move to its new state-of-the-art broadcast facility located in Souq Waqif, Doha. With Dalet Galaxy five underpinning the operation, the Al Rayyan TV team can seamlessly connect each stage of the workflow, managing content from the moment it arrives at the facility onto the production of programs to distribution over satellite, digital and social media channels from one platform. The fluid Dalet Galaxy five-driven workflow brings significant productivity gains to all aspects of the media operation, improving not only program time to air, but the overall quality of program packages with more time dedicated to content creation.

Mohamad Naim Al Said, Engineering Department Director, Al Rayyan, explains, “The business goal driving this upgrade is to meet the needs and expectations of the Qatari viewers and expatriates for a more robust program offering. Since we are a tapeless environment and to allow our teams to produce and share content internally much more efficiently, accelerating our production schedules while dedicating more time to crafting high-quality packages, we decided to go with Dalet Galaxy five as a collaborative software that centralizes our valuable assets under one single system. The underlying media asset management and workflow orchestration functionality allows us to exchange content seamlessly from one department to another, setting the stage for expanding our program production and delivery options. Two main sections of Al Rayyan Engineering Department such as MCR, Ingest, and Broadcast IT Teams which are being headed by Ghandi Elghotmi and Riyaz Mirza respectively, planned, initiated and completed the work tirelessly with SMC and Dalet during the launching of Dalet MAM System on the migration project.”

The full implementation of Dalet Galaxy five allows Al Rayyan to build an end-to-end digital content supply chain that connects and unifies all operations and processes from ingest to post-production, to distribution over satellite and social media channels, to archives. Key components include a centralized content catalogue (MAM), search and media management; seamless collaboration between all users, including editors on Adobe Premiere Pro CC through Dalet Xtend; centralized ingest management through Dalet Brio video server, and Dalet AmberFin scalable transcoding. Production and management teams across the operations can easily access the archives, having more options for program content thanks to seamless integration through the Dalet API.

Dalet Professional Services and local business partner Salam Media Cast collaborate with Al Rayyan Team through the entire process from architecting the new technical system, designing the new production and programming workflows, to implementing the solution, training the various user groups and support.

Dalet’s Johann Zemmour, general manager of Dalet EMEA and APAC comments, “Dalet Galaxy five gives Al Rayyan a full-fledged content production, management and distribution platform that eliminates the legacy siloed organisation. It is a new agile, foundation backed by a team of experts that can help them make the leap forward. They can now leverage emerging technologies such as AI, adapt faster and create new efficiencies that will allow them to expand their programming beyond the expectations of their audience.”

For more information on Dalet Galaxy five, please visit www.dalet.com or visit Dalet at CABSAT 2019 in Hall 3 on stand G3-31.

About Dalet Digital Media Systems
Dalet solutions and services enable media organisations to create, manage and distribute content faster and more efficiently, fully maximising the value of assets.
Paris, France – February 27, 2019 – Dalet, a leading provider of solutions and services for media organizations and content professionals, today announced that Israeli national radio network Galei Tsahal (Galatz) is upgrading to the Dalet Galaxy five Media Asset Management (MAM) and Workflow Orchestration platform to enable workflows that better serve its audience with greater access to content across its digital channels and social networks. A leading music radio station that sets the tone and playlist for the country, Galatz is also known for its news and thematic programs featuring politicians, military leaders, and influential citizens. A Dalet customer since 2006, Galatz undertook the upgrade to enhance production and delivery of its music and news-related content through social media networks, enhance its reporters’ abilities to file stories from the field using Dalet On-the-Go, and use AI-powered speech-to-text algorithms to enable wider accessibility to its rich historical archives, which date back to its founding in 1950.

“The upgrade to Dalet Galaxy five is enabling us to build a new content value chain, better integrating our social media channels across our operations, and leveraging AI services to make our entire inventory more discoverable and better monetized,” states Izak Pasternak, head of the technical department, Galatz. “We are able to make this quantum leap forward with the confidence of a decade-long partnership that is embedded in collaboration and success.”

Amplifying audience engagement
With Dalet Galaxy five, Galatz will be able to make all content that is produced in the production system available to social media publishing with a click of a button. Social media content performance (views, likes, shares) will be analyzed by the broadcaster; that data will be used to make better-informed decisions as to what to provide audiences next, helping to deliver a more enjoyable experience to listeners. Because the system is fully integrated with social channels, Galatz will be able to easily tap into the newly indexed archives and distribute topical collections of historical content across social networks - something that they have not been able to do before. Izak explains, “In terms of social media, today there is no connection between the system that is broadcasting content and the social media channels we want to publish to. With more and more people consuming news and content through social networks, it’s imperative for us to move to an integrated platform that can help us engage with audiences on a whole new level. Dalet Galaxy five enables us to do just that.”

Reporting from the field
Connecting in-the-field reporters directly to the newsroom, Dalet On-the-Go lets journalists organize and submit comprehensive news packages from their mobile device. Users can record interviews, write stories, and assemble and upload packages to the Dalet Galaxy five content catalog for sharing across the station or sending direct to air.

AI opens the archives
With a vast amount of valuable historic information under its care, Galatz wanted to make its archives open to the public for the first time online. Leveraging Dalet Media Cortex, the new AI cloud service of Dalet Galaxy five, the network applied AI-driven, speech-to-text algorithms to all archived content, turning it into text that is both searchable and accessible via an online portal.

“Until now our content producers had to manually add metadata into the media asset management system, then an archivist would review it to make sure it was filled in properly,” explains Izak. “If our archives team wanted to find something, they had to remember how it might be catalogued and in which categories. Going back into the archive to transcribe it all manually would have been cost-prohibitive.” Izak continues, “Now, with Dalet Media Cortex everything is searchable since it’s processed through the speech-to-text engine. This saves us significant resource time and effort. And what’s more important, Israeli citizens can sit at home and enjoy the archive, simply by searching online. Dalet Media Cortex has made it extremely easy to search and find content from any point in time since 1950, which to a large degree, is the history of Israel itself.”

Dalet’s Johann Zemmour, general manager of Dalet EMEA and APAC concludes, “Dalet is proven time and time again as a trusted technical partner to help customers achieve successful business transformations. In this case for Galatz, Dalet’s forward-thinking development of AI tools within Dalet Media Cortex enables the network to expand the use of its archives by making an extremely large amount of content available and searchable to its citizens. That could not have been realistically achieved by any other means.” Zemmour concludes, “Galatz recognizes the importance of providing its audience with experiences on the platforms of their choice and worked closely with Dalet to deliver on that demand.”

About Dalet Digital Media Systems
Dalet solutions and services enable media organisations to create, manage and distribute content faster and more efficiently, fully maximising the value of assets.
Paris, France – November 29, 2018 – Dalet, a leading provider of solutions and services for media organizations and content professionals, today announced that Moscow-based station ТВ Центр (TV Centre) will upgrade its media operation to the new Dalet Galaxy five Media Asset Management (MAM) and Orchestration platform, propelling an HD and beyond production and multiplatform distribution workflow that better connects content with their audience on the device of their choice. A Dalet customer since 2006, TV Centre is a state-run Russia TV station with the fourth largest coverage in Russia after Dalet-powered broadcasters Channel One, Russia-1 and NTV. Dedicated to programming that highlights various aspects of the Capital life, the channel airs nationally and is also broadcasted outside of Russian territory.

Facilitating TV Centre newsroom and program media needs from ingest to delivery, the initial Dalet installation featured the Dalet MAM with end-to-end News production, NCRS and playout for the newsroom and embedded production tools for unified search, assembly and distribution of program content. Under the new progressive Dalet Galaxy five powered workflow, TV Centre will move into HD production and delivery with the ability to support higher resolutions in the future. The broadcaster will also leverage the new Dalet Galaxy five Social Media Framework capabilities to further streamline its news content supply chain and expand its audience reach, outputting news content to all major social channels including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. In addition to advancing its social media initiatives, the broadcaster will also be able to integrate its digital platform to its CMS for rapid publishing of news online. Completing the upgrade will be full integration of TV Centre Archives.

“The operational goal driving the upgrade to Dalet Galaxy five was our transition to the HD and AVC Intra as our mezzanine format,” explains Alexey Brusnitsky, Technical Director, TV Centre. “However, this move is much more than a technical uplift and there is a bigger strategic picture at play for us at TV Centre. We also wanted to take advantage of the migration to evolve our operation and meet the changing demands of our audience as well as enable future technologies. We felt the Dalet Galaxy five platform offered the agility required to deliver on this ambition with Dalet as our trusted technology partner to help us get to that next level.”

Leveraging the Dalet Galaxy five Workflow Engine, TV Centre can now build and orchestrate ingest, transcoding and news automation workflows as well as employ specific archive file migration policies across the entire operation.

“The Dalet Galaxy five API integrations are also very appealing for TV Centre specifically for their archives,” explains Johann Zemmour, general manager Dalet EMEA and APAC. “Connecting the archives into the workflow will give them a fluid, connected movement of content from ingest to playout to archive. Further, Dalet Galaxy five will give them the ability to employ IMF workflows in the future utilizing the Dalet AmberFin media processing platform and the Dalet Workflow Engine. The ease with which TV Centre has been able to advance its production and distribution capabilities while integrating a range of in-house systems underlines just how robust and flexible Dalet Galaxy five is as a platform in which you can evolve the operation and maximize your ROI.”

About Dalet Digital Media Systems

Dalet solutions and services enable media organisations to create, manage and distribute content faster and more efficiently, fully maximising the value of assets.
Paris, France October 24, 2018 – Dalet, a leading provider of solutions and services for media organizations and content professionals, today announced that leading free-to-air Argentine network Telefe is to drive an expansive multiplatform workflow with the Dalet Galaxy five Media Asset Management (MAM) and Orchestration platform. The massive upgrade encompasses program preparation, production, output, and archive and will principally improve Telefe’s automation and social media workflow.

Owned and operated by Viacom International Media Networks since 2016, Televisión Federal (known as Telefe) reaches 95% of all households in Argentina, a country of 43 million. Headquartered in Buenos Aires, it produces more than 3,000 hours of Spanish language video content each year distributed across eight regional channels, as well as a significant and growing multi-platform presence and, distributed globally over pay TV channel Telefe Internacional. Telefe also manages a library of over 33,000 hours of content. Dalet has facilitated Telefe’s broadcast, post, and archive workflows since 2014. The comprehensive installation gives Telefe producers, editors, assistant editors, and operators direct access to archives and workflow tools.

“We need to serve our audience by reaching them wherever they are and that means a huge expansion in our social media distribution,” explained Santiago Matias Guimerans Soto, vice president of technology and operations at Telefe. “Having successfully based our media operations on Dalet for many years it was natural for us to upgrade to Dalet Galaxy five to take advantage in particular of the workflow engine. This will give us greater agility and speed in developing new workflows to accommodate the creation and publication of content to social media and future platforms.Dalet is a solution that Telefe can continue to grow with over time. It helps us create new forms of revenue and reduces our time to market.”

Telefe plans to design and build an integrated media supply chain that encompasses ingest, transcoding and distribution using the Dalet Galaxy five workflow designer tool. The Dalet AmberFin media processing platform seamlessly integrates with Dalet Galaxy Five and drives Telefe’s QC workflows. Production and publishing of all program content to applications such as Mi Telefe (My Telefe) and Telefe Noticias (Telefe News) as well as YouTube, Facebook and other classic social media platforms will be much more efficient in Dalet Galaxy five.

“Telefe already represents one of Dalet’s largest installations in South America and our partnership is further strengthening with this next technology leap,” explains Julien Decaix, general manager Dalet Americas. “It is Dalet’s proven ability to connect production, post-production, and archives combined with the ease of content publishing to outlets like YouTube and emerging consumer platforms that first attracted Telefe. The flexibility of Dalet Galaxy five further allows them to smoothly integrate and manage the different video formats used by Viacom together with those of Telefe. The initial Dalet investment continues to give them complete interoperability five years later while enabling them to orchestrate new workflows introduced by outside operations with ease. This is a tremendous return on investment.”

About Dalet Digital Media Systems

Dalet solutions and services enable media organisations to create, manage and distribute content faster and more efficiently, fully maximising the value of assets.

Paris, France – October 16, 2018 – , a leading provider of solutions and services for media organizations and content professionals, announced today that JKN Global Media PCL Thailand (JKN) has invested in the Dalet Galaxy five Media Asset Management (MAM) and Workflow Orchestration platform to optimize content production and delivery across traditional, OTT and social media distribution outlets. The installation enables a comprehensive workflow transformation, taking the Thai-based media organization from manually managing assets to automated processes that optimize production and delivery efficiencies across the entire media operation.

Headquartered in Nakhon Pathom, JKN Global Media, together with its subsidiaries, is a leading content distributor and licensing management business in Thailand. It is involved in the distribution of movies, TV series and documentaries for digital TV, cable satellite, home entertainment and OTT platforms. In addition to importing content from all over the world, JKN also produces original Thai-centric programming content for Discovery, History Channel and National Geographic. A large volume of JKN’s business is in the distribution of foreign language content to broadcasters, repackaging and dubbing this content into multiple languages in-house. It also plays out content to traditional and social platforms. With legacy workflows based on files and folders manually managed and exchanged from one group to the next, there was no integration, processes were time-consuming, and assets were left unenriched.

“JKN Global Media had the core goal to increase overall productivity, in terms of content, and boost distribution efficiency by adopting facility-wide migration policies, automated transcoding, and expansive metadata tagging and tracking,” states Cesar Camacho, general manager, Dalet Asia Pacific. “With Dalet, they have succeeded in doing this. They now have a platform, with which they can better serve content to viewers on any platform and evolve their business in reselling content. The agility of Dalet Galaxy five allows JKN to expand its capabilities without implementing an entirely new system. For example, they can easily add orchestration to take advantage of emerging technologies such as AI.”

With the goal of becoming more systemic and detail-accurate with regards to content management, JKN invested in Dalet Galaxy five. Moving from a legacy infrastructure that was characterized by pockets of content and asset management siloed across the facility, JKN has unified all of its systems and content repositories under one single platform with the flexibility to scale as business requires. Dalet Galaxy five provides browser-based access to content and assigns migration policies so content flows through a consistent process. All assets are centralized and detailed metadata tracking allows JKN to optimize the content use. Enriched metadata also means that it can pinpoint assets for production and delivery to all distribution outlets with far more efficiency.

The full implementation of Dalet Galaxy five at JKN Global Media includes: Dalet Webspace for browser-based search and retrieval; Dalet AmberFin for orchestrated, high-quality transcoding; and Dalet Xtend for seamless workflow collaboration between Dalet Galaxy five, Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid ProTools. There are further integrations with Aspera for accelerated file transfer and Vidchecker for QC. The Dalet platform integrates fluently with JKN’s business management and content management systems, with the organization’s playout system, and with all major social media platforms for frictionless online publishing.

Camacho adds, “Dalet’s entry into the Thai market comes hot on the heels of several key APAC customer expansions including ABS-CBN’s addition of Dalet at its Cebu news site in the Philippines and the enterprise rollout of the Dalet media asset management and workflow platform at Australia's Special Broadcasting Service. These diverse and large-scale implementations are a testament to Dalet’s ability to support broadcast networks transformation to faster, agile multiplatform content supply chains.”

About JKN Global Media PLC

JKN Global Media PLC is a successful company in content management and content distribution business in Thailand. Last year on November 30, 2017, JKN Global Media launched its first IPO at the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) among their business partners, broadcasters, investors and their Fan Clubs.
Paris, France – August 16, 2018 – Dalet, a leading provider of solutions and services for broadcasters and content professionals, today announced Dalet OnePlay, a new-generation studio automation solution designed to modernize live productions, increase audience engagement and open up new revenue opportunities while optimizing operational costs and reliability. Dalet OnePlay leverages the Dalet Galaxy five MAM, NRCS and workflow orchestration capabilities to enable more efficient and collaborative productions, as well as a more effective synchronized multi-platform distribution.

“News and sports content producers are constantly challenged to deliver more content to more platforms in a shorter time, with the same resources, while ensuring consistency across delivery devices,” comments Raul Alba, Dalet product line manager. “To succeed, they need reliable, highly efficient and flexible show production workflows. Dalet OnePlay helps meet those complex requirements while building a multi-platform experience around the show that will increase the engagement with your audience. A component of the Dalet Galaxy five platform, Dalet OnePlay leverages advanced data models and Dalet Workflow Engine-driven operations to sync distribution of specific content across many outlets.” Dalet OnePlay benefits any show production, from newscasts to sports magazines, as well as live and live-to-tape studio shows.

Dalet OnePlay will be showcased at the upcoming IBC2018 exhibition held in Amsterdam from September 14–18, 2018 (stand 8.B77). IBC2018 attendees can book a private demonstration or workflow consultation with a Dalet expert to learn more about Dalet OnePlay and other Dalet solutions.

Modern UI, Better Collaboration and Workflow Orchestration

Dalet OnePlay’s modern and efficient web-based UI, which runs both on desktop and tablet, offers an intuitive experience to control all core production device types, including video switchers and servers, cameras, audio mixing consoles, graphics, lighting, routers and more. “The innovative UI enables a unique mix of automated and manual workflows,” adds Alba. “Each editorial story is displayed in the form of a timeline that presents timed events that can run fully automated. In addition, users can add events to stories without timing information. These events can be controlled manually for playout and Dalet OnePlay will keep the log information about the manual operation for future use. This type of flexibility is useful for journalists or other staff who want to automate part of the workflow but allow the playout operator to manually control playout of specific events.”

Further, Dalet OnePlay leverages the agile Dalet Galaxy five News Production and Workflow Orchestration capabilities to enable custom live production workflows with unrivaled operational flexibility that goes beyond traditional studio production. The unified solution gives way to collaboration between show preparation and production teams.

“While Dalet OnePlay is designed as a single operator tool that minimizes the resources needed for managing live studio productions, the core platform agility of Dalet Galaxy five propels a ‘friction free’ collaborative workflow where workgroups can interact with the studio operation team to craft and perfect the show even as it airs,” states Alba. “This is especially important for audiences of live news and sports, where the story narrative is evolving and timely, detailed information spanning multiple screens is fast becoming a vital means of audience engagement.”

Last but maybe one of the most important aspects is the native interactivity between Dalet OnePlay and the Dalet Workflow Engine. “This is a very unique and powerful point of the value proposition,” adds Alba. “It enables producers and editorial teams to associate rule-based automated processes as a macro or secondary-event of the show. This means they can schedule and automate social media posts or any custom distribution workflow, with any element of the library, in synchronization with the show. For instance, a post teasing audiences on social media before a guest comes in, or a trailer with the best actions of the last games before a sport magazine starts. The options are limitless and will really redefine how audiences can be engaged on many devices before, during and after your show!”

For more information on Dalet OnePlay, please visit https://www.dalet.com/platforms/dalet-oneplay.

About Dalet Digital Media Systems

Dalet solutions and services enable media organisations to create, manage and distribute content faster and more efficiently, fully maximising the value of assets.
Paris, France – August 14, 2018 – Dalet, a leading provider of solutions and services for broadcasters and content professionals, announced today that they have been shortlisted alongside Euronews for the IBC2018 Innovation Awards content creation category. Lauded as one of the most coveted awards in the media industry, the competitive competition celebrates technical and creative excellence, acknowledging collaboration between organizations like Euronews and Dalet to achieve clever and innovative solutions for real business challenges.

“We are honored to be nominated for the IBC2018 Innovation Award with our technology partner Dalet,” says Francois Schmitt, COO, Euronews. “With the help of Dalet and our other partners, we were able to achieve our vision and become the world’s first truly ‘Glocal’ news channels, providing our audiences important global headlines with perspectives and viewpoints relevant to their regions, cultures and communities. We thank the IBC Innovation Award judges for recognizing this incredible technical feat and Dalet for working alongside with us on this exciting journey."

Euronews had been addressing the region’s need for multilingual programming by providing a single channel of news programming with identical video and English-only graphics delivered to countries with 12 different language versions. Groundbreaking when Euronews had originally launched in 1993, the “Multiplex” approach to broadcasting lacked the ability to adapt programming to the specific needs of individual countries, a limitation for today’s viewers who crave customized content. With multiculturalism as a core value, management sought to better connect global content with local audiences, transforming Euronews into a “Glocal” media brand.

“This project perfectly coincides with Dalet’s values of innovation, passion, and multiculturalism,”comments Johann Zemmour, general manager, EMEA & APAC at Dalet. “Collaborating with the same ideals and vision, we were able to leverage the advanced media asset management and orchestration capabilities of the Dalet Galaxy platform to construct one of the world’s most technically advanced newsrooms, empowering Euronews journalists to collaborate and turn any local or global topic into compelling news stories with perspectives and insights that resonate with their respective audiences.”

The legacy Euronews infrastructure had limited news to a “one-size-fits-all” with journalists relying on technicians to package non-localized news story with 11 voice-overs. The lack of system integration pushed news air times to an hour or more. To transform the operation, Euronews implemented Dalet’s component-based workflow powered by the Dalet Galaxy Media Asset Management and Orchestration platform, featuring federated editorial tools that empower the 500 journalists and a workflow engine that maximizes and automates complex, custom content delivery operations. The successful Euronews transformation, which saw no change in staff, increased television content production by 100%, feeding its newly launched 12 individual channels fresh content with a local perspective. It also increased Euronews digital content output by 20%, growing its online audiences by 66%.

“We are incredibly proud that the Euronews project has been shortlisted for an IBC Innovation Award and want to extend our appreciation to our technical partners on the project, PEAKS, who we collaborated with closely to bring the Euronews vision to life, and Adobe,” adds Zemmour. Technical project partner PEAKS provided a total redesign of the Euronews website and Dalet Galaxy integrated CMS to achieve a true 360° Newsroom that can produce up to 350 stories a day, reaching more than 13.5 million digital-users.

To learn more about Dalet and Euronews, please watch the video at: https://www.dalet.com/customer-stories/euronews. For media organizations to get full business value from their AI investment and operate at scale, they need the right method and the appropriate platform. Dalet Media Cortex makes it simple and effective. It connects and orchestrates smart combinations of cognitive services while managing all the complexity of data alignment. The AI-generated data is displayed at various levels of the Dalet Galaxy five application, in a set of new intuitive UIs, to provide contextual, actionable insights and recommendations to the users.

Dalet OnePlay - Modern Automated Studio Production

Dalet will also unveil Dalet OnePlay at IBC2018, a new-generation studio automation solution designed to modernize live production with synchronized multiplatform distribution. An extension of the Dalet Galaxy five platform, Dalet OnePlay fully leverages the MAM, NRCS and workflow orchestration capabilities to open up new forms of collaboration inside productions, automating more complex events, and eventually helping create new forms of audience engagement and revenue opportunities while optimizing costs. Dalet OnePlay benefits any sho production, making it an ideal solution for newscasts, sports magazines, live and live-to-tape studio shows. Dalet OnePlay’s modern and efficient UI and UX combined with the agile Dalet Galaxy five News Production and Workflow Orchestration platform enables custom live production workflows with more advanced collaboration and unrivaled operational flexibility, way beyond traditional automated production control solutions.

Cloud, Remote Editing and IMF Workflows

In addition to the new AI and studio automation product introductions, Dalet Galaxy five features several important enhancements that will be showcased at IBC. For hybrid on-premises and cloud deployments, the platform offers auto-scaling capabilities to balance infrastructure load and optimize costs. This new feature allows selected media processes to scale up and down automatically, according to a combination of process predictions, business rules and real-time demand.

Dalet will also showcase new remote editing capabilities that leverage the AWS infrastructure as a service resource. Dalet OneCut editors - such as journalists working in the field - can connect to the central bureau or facility to search and browse content, seamlessly mix it on their timeline with locally stored content (even in offline mode), and offload the rendering to the central site. Elnecave adds, “The real advantage of leveraging AWS for remote editing is in the user experience. For editors connecting from the field or from another facility, the combination of S3 storage and Cloudfront gives a much more efficient workflow and a more fluid editing UX.”

A pioneer of component-based workflows, including IMF workflows industrialization, Dalet Galaxy five creates real business opportunities for global distribution. Key Dalet Galaxy five MAM and Orchestration functionality stores rich technical metadata, with workflow design tools, to automate IMF processes such as complex CPLs creation/rendering and supplemental IMF Packages management. Shown at IBC are new Dalet WebSpace tools for preview, review and approval of all objects of an IMF package, including the CPL, with a glance at the Video Timeline available on any web client, eliminating the need for mastering tools.

IBC2018 attendees can book a private demonstration or workflow consultation with a Dalet expert to learn more about Dalet Galaxy five, Dalet Media Cortex and Dalet OnePlay feature highlights.

Dalet Press Briefings at IBC Show 2018

To schedule a press briefing with Dalet, please contact Nick Govoni at nick@zazilmediagroup.com.

About Dalet Digital Media Systems

Dalet solutions and services enable media organisations to create, manage and distribute content faster and more efficiently, fully maximising the value of assets.
