NEW YORK—Dalet unveiled Dalia, the company’s Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) solution that unifies the Dalet ecosystem under a single, natural-language, conversational‑style user experience, at the just-ended IBC2025.

Dalia, an intelligent layer embedded across Dalet Flex, Dalet Pyramid, Dalet InStream, Dalet Brio and Dalet Amberfin, features a family of media-aware agents that act as assistants to facilitate complex workflows across ingest, production, rights management, distribution and archive.

Built on Dalet’s open-core API, the agentic interface sits above all applications in the Dalet portfolio, offering a single conversational entry point. Users can ask the agent to locate assets, build title collections based on rights status, trigger review workflows or schedule live ingest, and the system will execute these tasks end‑to‑end.

Unlike generic chatbots, Dalet’s conversational AI interface and agents are media-aware: trained on the company’s own orchestration and media engine, not on customer data. This allows users to interact with a full range of media types directly and securely within the chat. Training and analyzing media is done within the core platform, providing complete control of which engines access customers’ content. Dalet AI Agents understand how to search, clip, transcode and package content without users leaving the chat. This approach augments traditional user interfaces for many day‑to‑day tasks, giving users the ability to perform complex operations with ease.

PARIS—Dalet has unveiled significant updates to the Dalet AmberFin transcoding platform that feature seamless integration with cloud-native Dalet Flex media logistics and Dalet Pyramid unified news operations platforms as well as new transcoding capabilities.

Dalet AmberFin also provides a cloud-first approach that has been verified by the AWS Foundational Technical Review, the company said. 

“It is no longer sufficient to simply take an on-premises system and run it on EC2 instances in the cloud, customers want cloud-native applications that can take full advantage of containerized services, scale up and scale down and the security best practices in the cloud,”  Devlin said. 

The company also stressed the convenience, agility and power provided by the new update. The solution’s advanced ingest management and conversion combined with elastic cloud resources enables enterprise users to cost-effectively facilitate large-scale projects, the company said. 

In addition, the newly updated Dalet AmberFin Kiosk, which supports macOS and offers expanded support for formats including ProRes RAW and NEF, helps users quickly offload and back up large amounts of content. Utilizing cloud storage, it concurrently verifies content integrity and enriches metadata so that content is organized and ready to drive further operational workflows easily.

Dalet said this new capability is particularly useful for teams out on location for long production shoots. Processing pipeline improvements leverage Netflix Photon validation tools to enable key IMF workflows in the cloud. 

Other production efficiency enhancements include support for UHD input and output with a standard transcode node and support for writing ABR packages DASH & HLS while content is being ingested. 

Dalet also reported that its accelerated development plans include an entire suite of cloud-native solutions in 2022. 

As part of that, Dalet Flex will be made available as a multi-tenanted SaaS offering, providing customers with scalability and elasticity when needed while offloading the costs of infrastructure investment and time spent on maintenance to Dalet. With Dalet Pyramid, newsrooms will be able to virtualize their entire operation with increased production and distribution capabilities that enable digital-first news story workflows anytime, anywhere, Dalet said.

PARIS—New software and hardware updates accompany the latest version of the Dalet AmberFin media processing platform, highlighted by the inclusion of Dolby Vision technologies and hardware acceleration tools from providers like Socionext.

Version 11.8.2.0 now has automated Dolby Vision mastering and distribution workflows that generate outputs from IMF, through broadcast, cable and satellite packages to OTT HLS and DASH bundles. There is also an integrated BPMN-compliant workflow engine and API for administrators to configure user interfaces, assign tasks and push through ad-hoc QC processes.

File outputs with the Dalet AmberFin can vary in packaging sophistication, from MP4s to IMF packages that are automatically synthesized from collections of input files and automation instructions.

Additional features include the M820L HEVC encoder plugin card from Socionext and integration with the Dalet Galaxy MAM platform. The system is capable of software-only, cloud-friendly frame rate conversion and interlace handling.
