                                <p><strong>WASHINGTON—</strong>Proposals for technical papers and panels are now being accepted for the 2026 NAB Broadcast Engineering and IT (BEIT) Conference, part of the 2026 NAB Show, held April 18-22, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The conference is an unparalleled opportunity for industry professionals to present their expertise at the premier broadcast, media and entertainment event.</p><p>“NAB Show is the destination for industry professionals to showcase cutting-edge advancements throughout the media ecosystem,” said John Clark, NAB senior vice president, Emerging Technology and executive director, PILOT. “The NAB BEIT Conference’s forward-looking focus will highlight groundbreaking work from both seasoned technologists and emerging voices. We’re excited to see the forward-thinking solutions from the industry’s leading experts.”</p><p>The NAB BEIT Conference is designed for broadcast engineers, technicians, technology managers, developers, contractors, equipment manufacturers, consultants and researchers. Winners will be announced at the IBC Awards, which will take place during the 2023 IBC Show at the RAI in Amsterdam, Sept. 15-28. The committee is ideally looking for forward-thinking and research-based proposals that address cutting-edge technology; there is also a special interest in proposals from next-generation storytellers and industry leaders, including student papers. Commercial or promotional papers will not be considered.</p><p>Examples of topics that SMPTE would consider for papers include UHD, HDR, 4K and high frame rate; future of media distribution; media infrastructure and control; cloud and virtualized media processing; image acquisition and processing; advances in display technologies; future media technologies; and more. Video of the conference presentations will also be posted to SMPTE’s YouTube channel. Submitted manuscripts will also be peer reviewed for possible publication in the SMPTE Motion Imaging Journal.</p><p>This year’s program committee will be co-chaired by SMPTE Education Vice President Sara J. Kudrle and Thomas Edwards, vice president engineering and development at Fox.</p><p>Following the April 30 deadline, the final proposal selection and notification to authors will be done by June 15. The proposals are due by March 30.</p><p>Selected papers, in addition to being part of the Forum, will be published in the “Fall Technical Forum Proceedings” archival body of technical literature. Also, presenters for the Innovation Theater will be determined from the Call for Papers.</p><p>SCTE-ISEB Cable-Tec Expo 2018 will take place from Oct. 22-25 in Atlanta.
