The annual awards celebrate products being launched or on display at the NAB Show 2025 in Las Vegas.

The awards, from industry-leading brands of Future plc, provide a great opportunity for companies to stand out at the industry’s most attended show. This year’s awards include a range of benefits such as fully licensed nominee badges that can be displayed at the show. Winners will also receive a trophy at the show, a press release, social graphics and digital banners.

Additionally, winners receive editorial coverage from our brands, including TV Tech, TVBEurope, Radio World, Mix, Sound & Video Contractor and ITPro.

IBC is back this December, and so too is Future’s annual Best of Show awards program which celebrates the innovation and craft of the industry’s R&D teams by recognizing some of the standout products and solutions on display in Amsterdam.

This year, Future is running two awards program to accommodate both IBC show exhibitors, and those that aren’t able to exhibit this time around. The Best of Show Awards 2021 is open to IBC 2021 show exhibitors and offers a valuable platform for companies to raise awareness for the new products and solutions they will be launching or showcasing at the RAI Amsterdam, Dec. 3-6.

New for this year is our Best of 2021 Awards, a new program for non-exhibiting companies that recognizes outstanding broadcast products and solutions brought to market between September 2020 (the 2020 IBC Showcase) and December 2021. Both awards program are supported by Future’s media and entertainment technology brands: TVBEurope, TV Tech and Radio World—and each brand will be providing its own dedicate coverage of all the winning entries.

What are the categories?

TV V Tech will feature all of the winning entries in the January 2022 edition of the magazine, and in a dedicated awards ebook which will be released after the show.

The Best of Show Awards digital supplement is now available to read and download. The ebook showcases all of the entries from this year’s awards program that took place around the virtual IBC Showcase earlier this month.

The awards, which recognize the products and technologies that broadcast providers launched and demonstrated around the show, are supported by four of Future’s leading media technology brands: TV Technology, TVBEurope, Pro Sound News and Radio World, and are judged by an independent panel of industry and Future market specialists.

UPDATED 9/2: The deadline to submit a nomination for the IBC 2020 Best of Show Awards has been extended to Friday, Sept. 4.

As this year’s fully virtual IBC Showcase gets ready to spring to life on Sept. 8, so too does Future’s annual Best of Show Awards. Typically run during the first three days of IBC at the RAI complex in Amsterdam, the 2020 version is running as a virtual program to coincide with the Showcase being run between Sept. 8-11.

This year in particular, the awards program is a great way for broadcast professionals to see all of the key product and technology innovations from around the Showcase in one place, and each participating title will feature the winning entries across their print and digital platforms. A special Best of Show digital supplement will also be distributed across Future’s international audience following the show, featuring all nominated products and solutions.

ENTRY PROCESS

As ever, the Best of Show awards recognize the outstanding broadcast products and solutions being showcased this summer in four categories: TV Technology, TVBEurope, Pro Sound News (broadcast audio products) and Radio World (radio broadcast products).

All nominations will be reviewed by a panel of independent industry experts. Factors taken into account include general quality and relevance of the product; design and build quality; business/operational benefits; innovation in concept/design/delivery; technical excellence; cost-effectiveness; game-changing ability.

Entry submissions require:

• Product name
• 500 word pitch describing why the product is deserves to be considered for a Best of Show Award
• A high res (300dpi) image of the product
• The URL for the company who makes the product

NEW YORK—Another industry tradition is taking the virtual route this year, as TV Technology’s parent company Future has announced that the next edition of its Best of Show Awards will be virtual. 

Best of Show Awards 2020 Virtual Edition will recognize new products and services that are being launched or showcasing around the IBC virtual “Showcase” event, which is replacing the annual Amsterdam-based conference due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Future media and entertainment brands TV Technology, TVBEurope, Radio World and Pro Sound News will each have their own category. In addition, winners will receive additional editorial coverage across the extended Future portfolio.

WASHINGTON—The time has come for 2020 NAB Show exhibitors to put forward their latest products for consideration for the seventh annual Future Best of Show Awards, honoring excellence in technology and innovation.

From now until April 3, exhibitors can nominate new products for awards presented by Future publications TV Technology, TVBEurope, Digital Video, Government Video, Video Edge, Radio World, Pro Sound News, Sound & Video Contractor, B&C and Next|TV.

The winners will be selected by panels of professional users and magazine and site editors, based on descriptions provided by companies via the official nomination form, as well as on-site evaluation at the show.

Exhibitors can also nominate their company for the Booth Design Award.

Upon submitting a nomination, exhibitors will receive a nominee logo to display in their booth and for social media marketing. A reminder for exhibitors at IBC 2019: The deadline to nominate a product for the Best of Show Awards is approaching.

The Best of Show Awards—supported by Future’s media and entertainment technology brands TVBEurope, PSNEurope and Radio World International—are a chance for companies to raise awareness for new products and services that will be featured at IBC. All nominated products will be recognized by those publications as well as Future titles like TV Technology, Radio World, Creative Planet Network, AV Technology Europe and Installation.

The winners of the Best of Show Awards will be determined by a panel of independent industry experts during the conference. All nominees will receive a stand visit with the judge to get a first-hand look at the product. Nominees will be judged on general quality and relevance of the product; design and build quality; business/operational benefits; innovation in concept/design/delivery; technical excellence; cost effectiveness; and game-changing ability.

To nominate a product, companies must follow the registration procedure detailed at here. The deadline for registering nominees is Sept. 9; winners will be announced on Sept. 16 during the conference.

The 2019 IBC Show will take place Sept. 13-17 at RAI Amsterdam.
