WNYW-TV adds airborne HD ENG

WNYW-FOX5 in New York City has added SKYFOX, an American Eurocopter ASTAR B2 news helicopter equipped with Helinet Aviation Service’s Cineflex HD camera system and multiband HD microwave system.

The multiformat copter is intended to improve service to the station’s standard-definition viewers and provide high-definition quality for HD viewers.

The Helinet/Cineflex HiDEF camera system is built around the Sony HDC-F950 camera. The Cineflex HiDef camera system provides up to three times more detail than standard broadcast resolution and has enhanced zoom capabilities.
