UK broadcaster turns to Pro-Bel for upgraded facility routing solution

Pro-Bel Freeway.

UK broadcaster Channel 4 has purchased and incorporated Pro-Bel routing technology as part of a significant upgrade of its London facility, the company announced.

When Channel 4 decided to construct a new control room for channel E4 and for pay-TV-based Film Four, the broadcaster selected the Pro-Bel Freeway series of routers. The facility is designed to back up the main transmission path and form a standalone program source matrix to guard against failure. Channel 4 chose the SDI, AES and time code versions of the Pro-Bel Freeway router for the installation.
