Romanian DTH satellite service relies on Harmonic

Boom TV's recently launched satellite direct-to-home (DTH) service in Romania is powered by a comprehensive Harmonic IP-based headend including DiviCom encoders, DiviTrackIP distributed statistical multiplexing and NMX Digital Service Manager.

The scalable Harmonic solution provides bandwidth efficiency and flexibility for Boom TV, a new operator in Romania offering the country's 7.1 million households new television services.

By using the latest generation IP-based video compression and delivery technologies from Harmonic, Boom can put into place an infrastructure that scales as new channels and other personalized, interactive services are added.
