8Madrid Channel selects Pebble Beach playout automation

The recently launched digital television 8Madrid channel, has places an order for the Pebble Beach Systems Neptune automation system.

8Madrid provides a free-to-air film service for Comunidad Autonómica Madrid, serving the Madrid metropolitan area.

The hardware-redundant Neptune system will initially handle the playout of up to 11 channels while controlling a number of devices, including a 13-port Avid MediaStream server, multiple VTRs, a Grass Valley router and several Albala logo generators and an Avid DekoCast. The Pebble Beach automation system also interfaces to the traffic and archive control software from Spanish software provider Createcna.

To ensure the integrity of the system, a backup controller device provides redundancy for playout.
