FCC fines Fox affiliates a total of $1.18 million for airing indecent material

The FCC issued a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture against various Fox Television Network affiliates for airing indecent material during an April 7, 2003, episode of the “Married By America” program.

The commission accessed a $1.18 million fine on Fox for airing an episode prior to 10 p.m. involving depictions of sexual activity. The FCC plans to fine each affiliate $7000 for the broadcast. Fox has 182 affiliates, but not all of them aired the show.
