Ascent Media, Discovery streamline with OmniBus automation

Ascent Media Network Services origination facilities in London and Singapore, and the Discovery owned-and-operated Discovery Television and Technology Center in Sterling, VA, have integrated OmniBus Systems' Colossus network-based automation and content management system.

With the OmniBus automation system, the three facilities provide playout for Discovery Communications. By managing transmission processes from ingest to playout at all three facilities, OmniBus automation plays a vital role in Discovery's initiative to make an enterprise-wide transition to file-based platforms.

A timeline-based, multichannel, multi-delivery automation and control system, Colossus is scalable and accommodates increased channel output with tools for ingest, quality assurance, content management, workflow management, and interfacing with archive systems.
