Alcatel-Lucent adds integration services to mobile TV portfolio

Alcatel-Lucent has launched a service that assists broadcasters and network operators in the deployment of DVB-H- and DVB-SH-based mobile television to subscribers using the company’s suite of digital terrestrial transmitters.

The service, which uses the company’s Unlimited Mobile TV portfolio of DVB-SH-based mobile TV network and transmission equipment, provides help with network design, installation and commissioning, as well as post-sales maintenance and operation, including the integration of the transmitters into operators’ existing networks and sites — a more cost-effective way of deploying mobile TV services than building an entirely new infrastructure.

The Unlimited Mobile TV portfolio is an end-to-end solution for launching mobile TV, encompassing network infrastructure (including terrestrial transmitters, satellite and backhauling), network headend, application platform, unicast/broadcast integration and the aforementioned professional services.
