Yahoo! announces mobile publishing platform

Yahoo! recently announced its new Yahoo! Mobile Publisher Services suite, designed to enable publishers to increase the discovery, distribution and monetization of their content on mobile phones. Publishers will be able to access the Yahoo! Mobile Ad Network, Mobile Content Engine, Mobile Media Directory and Mobile Site Submit — all part of the suite.

The Yahoo! Mobile Ad Network allows mobile publishers to have syndicated advertising served on their mobile content and services, while the Mobile Content Engine enables them to bring their content to Yahoo!'s mobile audience. They can use the Mobile Media Directory to make the content accessible directly through the Yahoo! oneSearch service, submitting a catalog of such content as video, ring tones, games and applications. Through the Mobile Site Submit, publishers can provide information about their mobile site, such as a descriptions and relevant tags, to ensure that their sites are accurately indexed and available to consumers through Yahoo! oneSearch.
