Wegener introduces DTV 720 Transport Stream IP Multicaster

Wegener has introduced the DTV 720, which allows IPTV operators to integrate satellite and local digital HD signals into their programming line up.

Based on the company’s professional line of video headend equipment, the DTV 720 Transport Stream Multicaster allows video headend operators to repackage live programming for IPTV services. The DTV 720 accepts inputs from satellite receivers and local off-air antennae.

It can be equipped with up to four ASI inputs to process live satellite feeds and up to two internal 8VSB and QAM tuners for local off-air broadcast TV signals. The 1RU unit outputs IPTV-friendly GigE output.

The product can build up to 16 IP multicast transport streams from ASI and 8VSB inputs with each containing one program.
