TVB to deploy Thomson DTT solution

Hong Kong-based broadcaster Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) has selected Thomson’s Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) solutions for its deployment of multi-frequency network (MFN) and single-frequency network (SFN).

TVB’s DTT system is a turnkey video head-end system, which includes compression, multiplexing and electronic program guide (EPG) management for the transmission of SD and HD video using both MPEG-2 and H.264 standards.

Equipped with ViBE SD and HD encoders, NetProcessor 9030 MPEG video processors for hybrid statistical multiplexing, Jade EPG servers and XMS management system, TVB will be able to leverage its dynamic service plan management capabilities to seamlessly remove and add channels within their service plan.
