Thomson unveils NexGuard forensic watermarking for Windows Media Video 9

At NAB2007, Thomson introduced its NexGuard forensic watermarking solution for Microsoft Windows Media Video 9.

The NexGuard WMV 9 software suite of tools is designed to deter piracy of WMV 9 or VC-1 main profile-formatted files.

NexGuard for WMV 9 will be available this summer for license by technology, networking and hardware manufacturers or for purchase as a turnkey hardware and software solution by studios, broadcast and network operators.

NexGuard for WMV 9 integrates easily into the workflow for producing files with the Microsoft codec, a format used for several content-related objectives, including: approvals by producers within the post-production environment; previews by broadcasters prior to acquisition; and repurposing and transferring for Internet and mobile distribution. It is also used for delivering files to consumers via the Internet.

The security suite includes the NexGuard video watermarking technology and the NexGuard Embedder and Investigator tools.
