Thales unveils COBALT DVB-H analyzer

At IBC2005, Thales introduced the COBALT DVB-H analyzer, a quality of service analysis tool for mobile operators and broadcasters involved in DVB-H mobile video delivery trials or introductions.

COBALT combines MPEG-2 transport stream analysis and IP testing, which is key to the quick isolation and troubleshooting of errors related to IP data encapsulation into MPEG-2 transport streams. DVB-H requires adequate time-slicing and error resilience mechanisms, so COBALT characterizes and accurately measures the size and jitter of the different bursts, as well as the properties of the FEC mechanisms used.
