Sony chooses Omneon Spectrum for Sonaps news solution

Sony has selected the Omneon Spectrum media server system as the playout server for its Sonaps integrated newsroom solution, according to Omneon Video Networks.

The Spectrum server will provide scalable playout of finished material as part of the complete news workflow managed by Sonaps.

The Sonaps system provides an integrated end-to-end workflow for the acquisition, production, distribution and management of material for newsroom environments. The system is designed to streamline the news production process and includes components for ingest, proxy edit, craft edit, storage, playout and archive. Sonaps also includes interfaces for various third-party applications.
