Siano rolls out second generation of mobile TV chip

Siano Mobile Silicon has launched SMS8022, the company’s second-generation antenna-chip product, designed for high-performance mobile applications.

Siano has designed the SMS8022 to enable increased mobile DTV reception in deep indoor locations and when traveling at high speeds. At 35mm x 5mm x 1mm in size, the miniature omnidirectional antenna chip eliminates the need for long telescopic or rod external antennas. It covers the entire UHF spectrum, of 470MHz-870MHz, supporting the DVB-T, DVB-H, ISDB-T, FLO and ATSC digital TV standards and technologies. It also offers improved performance of more than 3dB than its predecessor, the SMS8021.
