SCSU stadium revamps game experience with new video display

Bulldog football games at Oliver Dawson Stadium are different than ever before because South Carolina State University (SCSU) in Orangeburg, SC, has installed a custom, integrated football system with video, scoring, timing and digital advertising capabilities from Daktronics in Brookings, SD.

The scoring system features a ProStar VideoPlus display with the capability to show live and recorded video, animation and graphics. The video display measures about 12ft by 24ft with pixels on 23mm spacing. The displays use RGB LED technology to present images and information with wide-angle visibility and high brightness. ProStar technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption.

Another component of the system is a ProAd digital full-color LED display that allows SCSU to showcase corporate supporters. It measures about 5.5ft by 46ft. Daktronics also installed LED digits into the existing scoreboard structure.
