Rohde & Schwarz firmware upgrade to support ATSC M/H

TV transmitter manufacturer and U.S. mobile TV broadcast transmitter supplier Rohde & Schwarz will support the ATSC M/H technology with products that ease mobile digital TV implementation.

In addition to its current ATSC M/H-ready DTV transmitters and exciters, Rohde & Schwarz will offer the ATSC M/H technology as a firmware upgrade for existing users of the R&S SX800 exciter platform. This exciter has been used in the United States for ATSC and NTSC transmitters since 2006 in both in air-cooled and liquid-cooled transmitter series as well as in transmitters from other manufacturers. The SX800 also supports DVB-H, ISDB-T and MediaFLO.
