Rohde & Schwarz delivers new tester for wireless device production

Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) recently launched its CMW500 tester, designed to shorten test times during wireless device production.

The non-signaling, one-box tester features a frequency range of up to 6GHz and an IF bandwidth of 40MHz/70 MHz (analyzer/generator). It can support GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, mobile WiMAX, CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA as options, with further technologies to be supported in the future. The base unit has a frequency range of 3.3GHz, but can be extended to 6GHz with software. To shorten test times, R&S has incorporated its new smart alignment test concept, which provides for alignment times of up to 10 times faster than with conventional methods.
