RFS to highlight critical DTV mask filters

The RFS 8PX filters offer an ultra-compact and flexible solution for digital transmitter mask filtering and RF channel combining.

In support of ongoing digital terrestrial television (DTT) deployments, Radio Frequency Systems will show its family of high-performance coaxial RF filters at IBC2005.

Designed to meet European standards for digital transmitter masking, the 8PX series filters also offer ultra-compact and flexible solutions for adjacent and semi-adjacent channel combining.

Three sizes of the 8PX series filters are available: the two smaller sizes (50mm and 100mm coaxial cavities) are configured in-line, while the 200mm version has a folded construction for maximum compactness. Each filter exhibits sharp attenuation of out-of channel frequencies: selectivity at 4.2MHz from the center frequency (for 8MHz channels) is 9dB.

See Radio Frequency Systems at IBC2005 stand 5.221, or visit www.rfsworld.com.

With higher resolutions and larger HD screens, wide shots using very wide lenses can be a problem because they allow viewers to see that infinity doesn’t quite resolve into perfect sharpness.
