Quantel to introduce Picturebox sQ playout server

At NAB2005, Quantel will introduce Picturebox sQ, a companion playout server for its new Paintbox.

The Picturebox sQ picks up from where the Picturebox still store left off, giving broadcasters versatile stills and moving image playout capability that fits with integrated workflow models.

Quantel will also launch Newsbox, a new, complete newsroom system in a box. The Newsbox package includes everything from ingest and playout automation to journalist and craft editing, all based on Quantel’s sQ server technology.

New server solutions from Quantel include: an entry-level, HD-upgradeable server; near-instant sports highlight packaging with slo-motion replay; and zoning resilience for multi-server and multi-application systems.

The company will also show a new digital intermediate technology and compositing software.
