Quantel adds HD to Newsbox

Quantel announced at NAB2007 that its Newsbox tapeless news system would now feature HD support for no additional charge.

In addition, the previous fixed Newsbox configurations have been replaced, allowing customers the flexibility to choose the number of seats, ports and various other options to configure Newsbox HD to their own business requirements.

With Newsbox HD, users can freely mix and match SD and HD material on the same timeline. The Newsbox HD system automatically performs up and down re-sizing and handles aspect ratio conversions on the fly as needed. This gives broadcasters the flexibility to make the switch to HD when their business model demands it rather than when their technology imposes it.

Additionally, Newsbox HD can grow with the business, being fully scalable from five to 25 seats without changing the server.
