Path 1 unveils Vx8000 3.0

Path 1 Network Technologies introduced at NAB2006 version 3.0 of its Vx8000 IP video gateway.

New to the Vx8000 is a set of network diagnostic tools that let broadcasters use and optimize low-cost public Internet links to transport a variety of digital video formats, including real-time content for SDTV, HDTV and IPTV. Additionally, Path 1 is offering a stand-alone network analysis tool, NDx, which allows users to test their existing Internet connections and determine how much untapped video capacity already exists.

The Vx8000 3.0 identifies loss period, loss distance and jitter, and fixes network anomalies that degrade reliable transport of high-quality video over the public Internet. The Vx8000 3.0 is available immediately. The NDx will be available from Path 1’s Web site within 30 days.
