Orange captures soccer with Dalet technology

French mobile operator Orange has chosen Dalet technology to produce French soccer highlights for mobile and VOD channels.

With 1.4 million customers and owned by France Telecom, Orange chose Dalet Enterprise Edition to provide the platform and tools for the French “Ligue 1” live football matches. The Dalet system went on air Aug. 9.

The Dalet-driven production workflow at Orange includes production management capabilities, ingest, logging, quality control, planning, desktop production and media asset management. Production storage is from Exanet and server playout is from Omneon. Apple’s Final Cut editing is brought directly into the production chain via Dalet Xtend.

Dalet Enterprise Edition facilitates XML integration with Mediagenix for program creation as well as with the Harris automation system to complete the workflow.
