MRC to unveil MTS5000 ENG transmitter at NAB2008

At NAB2008, Microwave Radio Communications (MRC) will introduce the MTX5000 software-defined transmitter for electronic newsgathering (ENG) mobile and outside broadcast.

A completely software-defined radio lets stations manage RF, encoding and modulation locally in the field or from the studio. The fully upgradeable MTX5000 can extend the newsroom to the field with the MRC News Gateway to preview video content. Quick to setup, the MTX5000 lets ENG teams setup and react quickly to breaking news stories.

The heart of the MTX5000 is a software-defined multi-mode modulator, surrounded by advanced features like SD/HD encoding, IP encapsulation, ASI multiplexing, and remote control.
