Microtune’s new MT2067 tuner chip for in-car TV will go anywhere you can, providing stable TV reception for passengers in vehicles traveling at up to 125mph (200kph). The attraction for automakers is the miniature IC's potential for increasing reliability and minimizing total RF systems costs for increasingly popular rear-seat entertainment options.
At 7mm by 7mm, the MT2067 lets carmakers replace conventional bulky tuner modules with a compact chip. Along with its minimal footprint, the MT2067 also lets customers design configurable TV receiver platforms that can operate worldwide. The tuner supports worldwide analog and digital terrestrial standards, including NTSC, PAL, SECAM, DVB-T, DVB-H, ISDB-T, DTMB, ATSC and ATSC-M/H.
The MT2067 supports the 48MHz-862MHz RF frequency range. An integrated low-noise amplifier ensures excellent system sensitivity, while Microtune's ClearTune filter technology limits interference from strong undesired channels. The tuner automatically controls the RF gain, depending on receiving conditions.
To support hybrid-receiver designs, it provides two intermediate frequency (IF) outputs, one for connecting a digital TV demodulator and the other to connect an analog TV demodulator. Microtune's spur-avoidance technology enables high-performance in multituner diversity architectures by preventing interference between tuners.
The MT2067 supports temperatures from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius and meets Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) Q100 requirements.
