MediaFLO USA to acquire Thomson Ultimate transmitter

QUALCOMM has placed an order for multiple Thomson Ultimate UHF transmitters equipped with FLO technology for its MediaFLO USA subsidiary.

All Thomson DTV transmitters feature digital adaptive precorrection (DAP) linear and nonlinear signal correction technology, which provides simplified system setup and the maximum RF performance.

The Ultimate 5.2 kW transmitters with embedded FLO exciter will provide a reliable solution for distribution of high-quality streaming video and audio content to consumer’s handheld devices and will be used to support the nationwide MediaFLO delivery of mobile wireless multimedia multicasting services.
