Media Excel to spotlight HERA 4000 video transcoder line at IBC2008

Media Excel will feature its HERA 4000 line of video transcoder products that support rapid encoding, transcoding and distribution of broadcast-quality video to any device over any network at IBC2008.

The single-rack HERA 4000 is well-suited for broadcasters and cable operators as well as mobile operators, telcos, Web video aggregators, content delivery networks and media content production firms.

The product is among the first to use the Texas Instruments DaVinci digital media processor. The HERA 4000 offers:

  • a scalable solution for massive live or file transcoding, ranging from mobile TV to HD applications
  • a common platform and remote management for live broadcasting and VOD file adaptation
  • multiple multicodec, multi-bit rate, simultaneous inputs and outputs for encoding and transcoding
