Media Excel features Hera 3200m mobile TV transcoder

Media Excel is featuring the Hera 3200m multicodec, multirate video transcoder for mobile TV applications at IBC2007 this week in Amsterdam.

To build the Hera 3200m, Media Excel has leveraged in-house-developed embedded software and DSP hardware components. The transcoder provides multicodec, multirate inputs and outputs that support broadcast-level video quality and the ability to simultaneously stream video to multiple types of mobile devices.

The Hera 3200m can deliver cable- or satellite-originated content to up to 25 simultaneous real-time streams of various codecs, including H.263, MPEG-4 and H.264/AVC, at various rates for various types of networks, including cellular, DMB and DVB-H.
