KBS selects Snell & Wilcox standards converters

To increase its capacity for incoming international feeds, Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) has purchased four Snell & Wilcox Kudos Plus CVR450 standards converters to convert content from Europe and other regions for television viewers in Korea.

KBS, the national state-owned broadcaster, provides news, entertainment programming and local and international sports coverage throughout Korea.

KBS will install the units in its international line feeds center. The ability of the Kudos Plus CVR450 to receive signals in any format while providing noise reduction, synchronization and aspect ratio conversion will give KBS the tools it needs to distribute signals from anywhere in the world.

Featuring 10-bit signal processing, the CVR450 standards converter is an advanced multiformat, four-field, four-line aperture standards converter.
