Inlet Technologies to introduce new encoding workflow management

At NAB2008, Inlet Technologies will unveil a new approach to encoding workflow management that eliminates many of the manual steps required by traditional approaches.

The Inlet solution is designed from the ground up as a multiformat, high-output architecture that can either manage an entire workflow or plug into existing facilities and asset management tools.

With this technology, creating large video-on-demand libraries, supporting download-to-rent or own businesses and repurposing content to new screens is more efficient. This architecture increases the hands-off automation required to support high-volume operations. A clean, easy-to-use interface and documented APIs will allow organizations to tie their controls directly into existing operations.

Inlet also will roll out to new innovations to its Spinnaker family of live encoding appliances, including:

  • A new version of Spinnaker that produces high-quality HD streaming content.
  • A new ASI/IP input to the Spinnaker product line for existing broadcast and cable users. ASI is an industry-standard transmission format that can contain single or multiple programs.
